1950's Jeep Cj3a Stainless Steel Custom Project, Small Block, Air Bagged on 2040-cars
Charleston, West Virginia, United States
I'm selling a 1950's styled Jeep CJ3A stainless steel body that was hand made in the Philippines. The body has never been on the road, and is in great shape, it's worth $4500 alone without all of the extra parts. This is a project vehicle and will have to be towed on a trailer. It is not rolling currently. It has a 350 c.i. small block Chevy and an auto trans. with a Lokar shifter completely mounted. It is air bagged and has a Ridetech kit that has the pump, tank, valves, air gauges, switches, wiring harness and air lines. The rear end is completely set up, but the front end isn't welded in, have all of the parts to set it up, including air bags, mounting brackets, new reverse Corvair steering box, new U-joint, and Corvair pitman arm. As far as engine parts, I have polished single belt crank pulley and water pump pulley, polished single wire 100 amp GM alternator, polished valve covers, Eldebrock Preformer EPS intake, Summit Racing Street and Strip 750cfm Carb, polished 45 water neck, and stainless steel headers. I also have Auto Meter Street Rod series gauges. These parts are brand new and a lot of them were sealed in the box until I took them out to take pictures of everything, and were put back in the box. This is a very nice ride and most of the hard work is already done, and most of the expensive parts are there to finish it. The frame is completely done, just needs either painted or powder coated. I also have the top of the windshield frame and the original windshield that goes with it. I know it needs a driveshaft and a steering column. It does NOT come with a title, I know it says clear, but it doesn't have an option of no title. I am selling this due to my dad passing away, this was his project and I don't have the skills to finish it. DO NOT ASK IF I WILL TAKE LESS OR BREAK IT UP. The starting price is the lowest I will take, so don't ask. If you have any questions or would like to come look at it, plese call me at 304-444-0814.

Jeep gunning to build 250,000 Cherokees a year
Thu, 21 Mar 2013Contrary to what a certain politician may have said last year about Jeep moving to China, the automaker is in fact doing the opposite, with plans to greatly increase the production capacity at its Toledo North Assembly plant in Ohio. The Detroit Free Press is reporting that there are big plans for the 2014 Jeep Cherokee and Toledo North, as a local union president has informed the newspaper that Chrysler is planning to produce around 250,000 examples of the new midsize utility per year.
To put this number into context, 250,000 units is more than what Jeep Liberty sales totaled here over the last three years combined. Even taking into consideration that the 250,000 units will be distributed beyond US borders, that's an ambitious volume figure full-stop - and that's without taking into consideration the new Cherokee's love/hate design. In its favor, though, Jeep is making remarkable inroads globally as of late, and the Cherokee's size could work well in emerging markets. To get that kind of output from Toledo's Cherokee assembly line, Chrysler will reportedly hire 1,105 new workers - that's in addition to the 200 workers already being hired to build the popular Jeep Wrangler, which is itself expected to top 220,000 units this year.
Chrysler investing $20M in Toledo plant to support 9-speed auto production
Sun, 28 Apr 2013In 2011, Chrysler announced a $72-million investment in its Toledo Machining Plant to modernize production of the eight- and nine-speed torque-converters for automatic transmissions made there. That upgrade work won't be finished until Q3 of this year, but Chrysler has already announced a further $19.6-million investment to increase production capacity for the nine-speeders.
The extra units will be necessary because the nine-speed transmission they'll be mated to is going into three popular models: it will debut on the 2014 Jeep Cherokee, then go into the Chrysler 200 and Dodge Dart. The company predicted that this year alone it would sell 200,000 units equipped with the nine-speed tranny, and it is spending some $374 million in addition to the investment in Toledo to upgrade production capacity for it.
The work attached to this new investment won't begin until Q3 of 2014, and it will be finished by the end of that year. There's a press release below with all the details.
Blake Anderson drives an over-the-top patriotic Jeep
Thu, Jan 15 2015Comedian Blake Anderson is seeing growing success as one of the stars and co-creators of the Comedy Central show Workaholics. Not surprisingly, when you get your own TV show, there's a deep desire to celebrate with a big purchase, a car perhaps. Anderson did just that, but as opposed to plunking his money down on a Porsche or Mercedes-Benz, he took a much more patriotic route. Anderson described his ride as "an American Jeep" in an interview with Conan O'Brien, and he didn't mean that it was from the AMC years of the off-road brand's ownership. Instead, this one is as patriotic as they come thanks to a beautifully regal bald eagle covering the hood with the nation's flag as the background running up at least to the windshield. Hear Anderson's entire story of buying this red, white and blue off-roader in the video above.
