I spent the last year restoring this beautiful Jaguar XKR with a 4.0L 400HP supercharged engine for a close friend of mine to give as a gift for his wife. We settled on $27.5K for parts and my troubles.

I took care of the following:
New Yokohama tires (less than 1,500 miles on them)
All new high performance Bilstein shocks/struts
New brake pads and rotors all the way around, system flush
Radiator flush/Transmission flush
New HID headlamps
New Front/Rear Sway bars
New fuel filter/air filter
Camshafter cover
New Jack and tools
Seals replaced between intercooler and supercharger
Bodywork/Interior work

$1,850 STEREO System:
I had a custom installation of a 6 channel Soundstream 620W amp with CDT M6+ subwoofers, Vifa Midranges, Infiniti component speakers, CD Changer and an MTX signal processor/bass restorer.
Last week, I told him everything is complete and he showed his wife pictures and she DIDN'T WANT IT. She said that it would make them look "rich" and she didn't want to look wealthy.
So I've dropped the price to $22,500 which is an excellent deal for an exceptional car.

All maintenance records kept. I have no objection to having a Jag mechanic inspect the vehicle prior to sale.

Options, etc:
Supercharged, Rear Wheel Drive, Active Suspension, Traction Control, Stability Control, Tires - Front/Rear Performance, 20" Aluminum Alloy Wheels, Temporary Spare Tire, Power Steering, 4-Wheel Disc Brakes, ABS, Brake Assist, Rear Defrost, Convertible Soft Top, Rear Spoiler, HID headlights, Automatic Headlights, Fog Lamps, Daytime Running Lights, Heated Mirrors, Power Mirror(s), Mirror Memory, Intermittent Wipers, Variable Speed Intermittent Wipers, Rain Sensing Wipers, Power Driver Seat, Power Passenger Seat, Leather Seats, Bucket Seats, Heated Front Seats, Seat Memory, Rear Bench Seat, Floor Mats, Adjustable Steering Wheel, Steering Wheel Audio Controls, Leather Steering Wheel, Power Windows, Power Door Locks, Keyless Entry, Navigation System, Cruise Control, Universal Garage Door Opener, Climate Control, AM/FM Stereo, CD Changer, CD Player, Premium Sound System, Auto-Dimming Rearview Mirror, Driver Vanity Mirror, Passenger Vanity Mirror, Driver Illuminated Vanity Mirror, Passenger Illuminated Visor Mirror, Front Reading Lamps, Power Outlet, Rollover Protection Bars, Emergency Trunk Release

Jaguar C-X17 Concept teased before Frankfurt

Sun, 01 Sep 2013

Just ahead of the Frankfurt Motor Show, which begins September 10, Jaguar is teasing the reveal of a design study to introduce its new advanced vehicle architecture. Dubbed the C-X17, the mysterious concept "illustrates the diversity of vehicles that could be produced using this architecture, which underpins the innovative future of the Jaguar brand."
While it's not entirely clear what this architecture involves or what type of vehicle the C-X17 may be, this reveal is reminiscent of Jaguar's decision to unveil the C-X16 concept, a hybrid electric sports car, in Frankfurt in 2011. From the looks of the teaser image Jaguar released (click above to enlarge), we're guessing the C-X17 will be something between a low-slung crossover and a sporty wagon. But we won't have to wait too long to find out - Jaguar is streaming the live pre-show reveal to invited guests on its Facebook page on Monday, Sept. 9.
In addition to the C-X17, Jaguar be showing off the performance-oriented XJR and XFR-S, and, of course, the F-Type convertible. Scroll down for the official press release.

Jaguar will sell 10 fully restored Series 1 E-Types

Fri, Mar 31 2017

The Jaguar Land Rover "Reborn" program is expanding its offerings yet again. The newest offering is the first from the Jaguar side of the company, and naturally the first car is a Series 1 E-Type. Jaguar Classic will restore 10 of the first-generation E-Types, and the cars will be sold directly to consumers from the company. The very first of the cars is the 1965 model you see above, which will make its public debut next week at the Techno-Classica Essen show in Germany. It's a 4.2-liter model finished in "Opalescent Gunmetal Grey." According to Jaguar, it was originally sent to California where it racked up 78,000 miles, and then was put into storage in 1983. Jaguar then acquired the car, and the Jaguar Classic department proceeded to restore it to factory specifications. Jaguar fixed and retained as many original parts as possible, and used replacement Jaguar Classic parts as needed. The car is fully numbers-matching with the original engine and transmission. If you're interested in purchasing this E-Type, or one of the other nine, you'd better have a hefty pocketbook. A standard restored car done to factory specs will start at about $355,000 at current exchange rates. If you want to spend more, Jaguar offers a few extra cost options such as an upgraded cooling system based on the one found in the Lightweight E-Type, a fully synchromesh transmission for early models without it, and upgraded front brake calipers from the later Series 2 E-Type. 2017 Jaguar F-Type SVR First Drive

Fri, Sep 2 2016

Jaguar's F-Type SVR has a special new exhaust. I drove the car in Monterey, California, where there's this tunnel right in the middle of town. You see where I'm going with this. The pipes attached to the "normal" F-Type R's supercharged 5.0-liter V8 is a flatulent riot, one of the most flamboyant wind sections in modern exhaust-dom. And then Jaguar's Special Vehicle Operations, the group of madmen responsible for the Project 7, comes along and rips it all out for the SVR. The room is needed for a rear diffuser, see. So a new system is fabbed using two fancy lightweight alloys, Inconel and titanium. A pair of mufflers sprout where one used to be. More. Better. Louder. Yes, all of that. Geez it's loud. And there's this tunnel, remember. Enter it and lift from the throttle, and it sounds as though there are some kids stowed away in the trunk tossing handfuls of M-80s out the back. "Big report" is what it'd say on the box if the F-Type SVR were a firework. It's dramatic, perhaps excessive. Scratch that – it's definitely excessive. This F-Type is only the second full-production effort from Jaguar Land Rover's SVO, the first being the Range Rover Sport SVR, and so it's also the first Jaguar SVR ever. Whereas that Range Rover combines quickness with surprising cross-country abilities, the F-Type SVR has a singular mission: Go faster. And so, with a tweak of the electronic limiter and some other fiddling, voila!, suddenly the coupe can reach a top speed of 200 mph. The convertible is not far behind at 195. Although there aren't many places in the world where you'll actually want to probe those max velocities, the engine's 575 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque are plenty to risk your license. The SVR adopts many of the engine improvements that hoisted the Project 7 to the same power level but bests that very special car's torque figure thanks mostly to new intercoolers. Remember, the regular F-Type R is only good for 550 hp. Only. What a world we live in. Aside from the added power, this is much more of a range-topping special trim than it is a significantly different model. Like the R, the SVR comes only with all-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic transmission. Operating it in manual mode is more pleasant, in part because the paddle shifters behind the wheel are made out of aluminum instead of plastic like on other automatic F-Types.
