2008 Jaguar XKR Base Convertible 2-Door 4.2L
A Jaguar doesn't come along every day, and even when one does, it's usually hard to tell since it looks just like a past Cat. While there are certainly cues here and there to remind of its prestigious genealogy, the 2008 Jaguar XKR is clearly a new kitten -- and a sexy one at that. However, there's more to this luxury coupe and convertible than sleek and muscular styling. This is a Jaguar that drives as well as it looks, and the XK and the high-performance XKR are sporty enough to please those looking for something more than just a pretty automotive fashion accessory.

This is an incredibly well-kept Convertible XKR with low miles that has had just two gentle owners since new. It originally sold for roughly $95,000 and was ordered with over $9,300 in factory options including the highly desirable Luxury Package, Premium Sound Package and 20" wheels.

Thanks to the optional Luxury Package, this XKR is dressed in soft-grain leather throughout the cabin in a black leather. Upgraded 14-way adjustable heated front seats with adjustable side bolsters and lumbar support, as well as heated steering wheel are also provided by the Luxury Package. Further comfort amenities an optional premium surround sound Alpine audio system and Sirius Satellite radio, Bluetooth telephone connectivity, GPS navigation, 7" touchscreen display, upgraded iPod integration, keyless ignition, heated steering wheel and dual-zone auto climate control. Further features include bi-Xenon head lamps, rain-sensing wipers, auto head lamp control and rear parking sensors.

As Jaguar's top-of-the-line performance convertible in 2008, the XKR is powered by a supercharged 4.2L V8 engine with 420hp and 413lb-ft of torque on tap. The supercharged engine is backed by a shiftable 6-speed automatic transmission driving the rear wheels.

The location of the car is Leawood, KS (Kansas City).

The story behind Bridgestone's new tires for the rare and beautiful Jaguar XJ220

Wed, Jun 7 2017

The Jaguar XJ220 is a beautiful, fast, and arguably under appreciated supercar from the early 1990s. While contemporaries like the Ferrari F40 and Porsche 959 garner more than $1 million at auctions, the XJ220 might pull in half that. Maintaining an older car requires work, a task made more difficult when parts aren't available. Last year, Bridgestone announced it was producing new tires specifically for XJ220s. The Japanese tire supplier has released a 42-minute video documenting the process. There were only 275 XJ220s ever built, fewer than both the F40 and 959. Until recently, no supplier made four same-spec tires that would fit the XJ220. Early Dodge Viper owners suffer from the same problem. Thanks to both Bridgestone and Pirelli, owners now have two options to choose from. Bridgestone worked with Don Law Racing, the go-to shop for all things XJ220, when developing the right tire for the car. It isn't simply a reproduction of an older-spec tire. Bridgestone tested a number of new compounds. With so few cars available, from the beginning this was going to be a money-losing prospect for the tire maker. Enthusiasts within the organization fought hard to get everything approved. Watch the full video to hear how much time and effort went into the project. Jaguar XJ facelift suggests that if it ain't broke...

Tue, Dec 16 2014

Jaguar is preparing what looks to be a very modest upgrade for its long-serving XJ, now heading into its fifth year in production. The fullsize luxury sedan's changes are so limited it seems like a stretch to even refer to these changes as a proper update. New front and rear lights represent the big changes, although the XJ's front grille looks to get a tiny bit of tweaking. Beyond that, though, we can't see too much changing for Jag's flagship luxury car. That said, there could be some tweaks below the sheetmetal and within the cabin that these images don't really show. Take a look at our gallery of spy photos, at the top of the page, and let us know what you think Jag is up to with this particular XJ.

2016 Jaguar XE is ready to stalk the competition

Mon, 08 Sep 2014

The XE wears some of the best styling elements from Jaguar's current litter.
Big sedans and sports cars. Jaguar has been known for those two things since the company's name was birthed in 1945. Stylish saloons like the Mark 2 and performance machines like the E-Type make up the brand's heritage, but the compact sedan market is one where the British marque has lacked great product.
