Staten Island, New York, United States
Hi and WELCOME to my auction.
SERIOUS INQUIRIES ONLY, PLEASE. FREE SHIPPING** OPTION: If the car is sold at the FULL BUY IT NOW price, I will pay to ship the car anywhere in the continental US (up to $1,000). **Sorry, but this only applies to the full asking price of $8,995. (Note: If you prefer to pay for the car through Paypal, I will glady accept it (provided you also pay the Paypal fees). Basically, you could buy this car with your Credit card.) DESCRIPTION: Due to unforeseen financial obligations, I'm regretfully selling my personally owned 1998 Jaguar XK8 convertible. The car runs, shifts and drives as NEW, looks beautiful and costs only $110/year to insure (Classic insurance). I just had the MAJOR guides/tensioner/belt service done (on April 4, 2014) and had it professionally detailed this week. The AC is COLD and the power top works flawlessly. The leather interior is in excellent condition, the OEM factory chrome rims are beautiful and the tires have plenty of thread remaining. The car comes complete with the convertible top boot, factory security system, owner's manual, and a full sized spare tire mounted on a factory CHROME rim. Shortcomings are few, and as follows: Only 1 check engine light is on (The mechanic says its a "VVT" sensor, but it doesn't affect how the car runs), the rear view mirror glass is a little faded and the passenger side view mirror has a hairline crack. Though the CD player works perfectly, the front speaker is a little weak. There are a few very minor scratches/scuffs but the paint shines beautifully. The car originally cost $73,000 and it has only 108K original miles The title is CLEAN and in my name. TERMS: A $250 non-refundable deposit is due within 48 hours of auction close. Paypal is accepted for deposit only, (unless the buyer adds the 3% Paypal fee.) Full payment is required within 7 days of auction completion. The car is sold AS-IS, with no warranties expressed or implied. Test drives/mechanical inspections are welcome. If these terms are not met, Ebay will be informed and the car will be made available to other buyers. If the car is paid in full, i will hold it for up to 30 days at no cost. Please email for more info. Thanks for looking and God Bless. 1998

Jaguar Land Rover to skip 2016 Detroit Auto Show
Mon, Nov 23 2015Jaguar Land Rover won't attend the 2016 Detroit Auto Show in January because the automaker will shift its focus to other international shows instead, the company confirmed to Autoblog. "Following a review of our global consumer engagement program, the decision has been made not to exhibit at the Detroit show in 2016," said a company spokesperson told Autoblog. The story was first reported by Automotive News. JLR will continue to attend other US auto shows in Chicago, New York, and Los Angeles; plus those abroad in Geneva, Frankfurt, Paris, Beijing, and Shanghai. "We recognize that the Detroit show is a world-class Tier 1 auto show, however, we have had to make this decision to sharpen our focus as indicated," the spokesperson said. Detroit Auto Show PR Manager Max Muncey told Autoblog that the organizers already knew JLR wouldn't be there. "We are in discussions with other automakers to fill that spot," he said about using the open space. The show expects 70 percent of the floor plan in 2016 to be different from last year. The automaker used the 2015 Detroit Auto Show to announce diesel versions for several models, and it revealed the name for the Jaguar F-Pace there. JLR reportedly now has a plan to cut the equivalent of $6.8 billion in costs without firing workers and increase production to a million annual deliveries by the end of the decade. Related Video:
SVR plans to tune electrified Jaguar-Land Rover models, but not the I-Pace
Sun, May 24 2020Jaguar-Land Rover's SVR division has only put its name on high-horsepower gasoline-burning cars, like the XE Project 8 built in strictly limited numbers. It's open to the idea of tuning electrified models, whether they're electric or hybrid, but it confirmed it's not currently planning on making a spicier evolution of the I-Pace. "We will be developing electrified versions of our cars, be that fully electrified or plug-in hybrids," affirmed Michael van der Sande, the division's managing director, in an interview with Auto Express. But although the electric I-Pace (pictured) raced in a one-make race series held on the sidelines of Formula E events for two seasons, and SVR could credibly claim to inject track DNA into a street car, it stressed the I-Pace doesn't appear in its product plans for reasons that remain a little bit murky. Jaguar announced the end of the eTrophy series in May 2020, which might explain why it's reluctant to exploit racing's marketing power. "There are other various things we are working on which we can't talk about, but we're very interested in electrification. That's why we got involved in eTrophy," van der Sande clarified. "The technology transfer, the learning applies to that car and other cars but we're not planning an SVR I-Pace at the moment." His comments confirm we'll need to be patient to see what SVR's take on an electric or hybrid car looks like. One of the first electrified models to receive the go-fast treatment might be the next-generation XJ tentatively scheduled to make its debut before the end of 2020. It will be exclusively electric, though it won't look as radical as the I-Pace, so Jaguar will need to find a way to replace the hot-rodded XJR 575 model it positioned at the top of the last-generation model's line-up. It's not too far-fetched to speculate the next Range Rover also due out in the coming months will receive some degree of electrification, and it could spawn an SVR-tuned model, too. Jaguar's XFR-S Sportbrake looks to be one hot kinschlepper
Tue, 23 Jul 2013This is the Jaguar XFR-S Sportbrake, which is too cool for North American sale (the Sportbrake, not the XFR-S sedan, which we're getting soon). Like the XFR-S four-door, it has a 5.0-liter, supercharged V8 pumping out around 550 horsepower.
Our spy photographer's x-ray vision is saying that a ZF eight-speed automatic will be the gearbox of choice for the XFR-S wagon, which fits with the sedan, as well. The Sportbrake also has the usual high-performance touches, with huge air intakes in the front fascia, big wheels wrapped in low-profile tires, a dropped suspension and a rear end that's wearing a diffuser and a pair of meaty, quad exhausts. We're happy to see that the XFR-S Sedan's rear spoiler - or some iteration thereof - isn't here to mangle the Sportbrake's beautiful shape.
Where the this super-fast hauler will debut remains a question. There's virtually zero chance of it arriving at an American auto show (although we do endorse that, and any other decision that brings this wagon to our shores), which likely means it'll be in Europe. The Frankfurt Motor Show and Geneva Motor Show seem like the leading contenders, but we'll just have to wait and see.
