This well maintained coupe has the classic silver exterior and black leather interior.  It has the aluminum luxury package which sets it apart from other XK's with the rare aluminum trimmed dash and console, optional soft grain leather interior, leather trimmed I/P, and 16 way power seats with adjustable bolsters. This package includes the 20 inch "Senta" 10 spoke wheels.  It has the Alpine 525 watt premium sound system with navigation, blue tooth, and 6 CD in-dash player. This XK also includes the advanced technology package with the adaptive cruise control, which uses radar to keep proper distance to car in front of you,  and active front HID lighting which moves the headlamps with the steering. The original list price of this top of the line car was over $87K.  This XK is a very desirable early production of this all aluminum XK body style introduced in 2007.

This car is an absolute pleasure to drive with the 6 speed automatic transmission and strong V8.  It is quiet around town, but when you step on the gas, the exhaust tone becomes more aggressive.  Due to its light weight, this XK gets 25 mpg, and has shown just under 30 mpg on flat highway at normal highway speed.

This car is in perfect running condition and fully detailed, and is factory "stock".  It is always garaged, and has rarely ventured into the city as you can tell by the lack of bruises from parking. Aside from the routine Mobil 1 oil changes, the battery has been replaced about 2 years ago, and new front and rear brake pads and rotors, front end alignment, and new top rated  Z series tires have been installed in the last several months. I have just installed the latest navigation updates from Jaguar. The car comes with the original owners manuals and 2 key fobs in working order.  As a note, I collect and restore British cars as a hobby, so you will see a lot of pride of ownership in this beautiful sports car. The is my forth Jaguar, and by far, the most balanced in power, ride and comfort.

The key imperfections on the car include a few scratches on the inside driver side door jamb due from the seat belt buckle.  The two front wheels had slight blemishes from brushing the curb and/or rigorous cleaning.  These have been touched up. There are a couple of barely visible small scratches on the hood, and on the rear window.  I cannot find any dents on the car. The leather interior is like new.

Jaguar tests autonomous vehicle technology with 100-car fleet

Wed, Jul 13 2016

Jaguar Land Rover is exploring how to take autonomous vehicle technology off the paved path. But the company has plans for technology on tarmac, too. The company announced that the Jaguar division will have a fleet of 100 cars testing autonomous technologies on public roads. The testing process will cover a period of four years and begin with vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-infrastructure communication systems, along with a stereo camera system and autonomous vehicle software. These systems will work together to provide a variety of features that could make their way into future Jaguars and Land Rovers. The first feature in development is called "Roadwork Assist." The system relies on the stereo camera to create a 3D image the car's software can analyze. The software can identify road cones and other barriers associated with construction sites. The car will then alert the driver about entering the construction zone and provide some steering assistance to keep the car centered in its lane. Tony Harper, Jaguar's head of research, said that this system can reduce stress on the driver, and the technology could eventually be used to allow the car to pilot itself through construction zones. Another of Jaguar's proposed features is "Safe Pullaway," which also relies on cameras and software. The Safe Pullaway feature is designed to prevent close-proximity collisions in traffic jams and even in the garage. To do this, the car watches the area immediately ahead of it for obstacles. If the car detects something nearby while the driver adds throttle or shifts into gear, it will apply the brakes to prevent driving into the object. The final project on Jaguar's plate is its "Over the Horizon Warning" system. This will be one of the first features to rely on Jaguar's vehicle-to-vehicle communication technology. The idea is that connected cars in constant communication will give drivers additional warning of upcoming hazards, such as out-of-sight animals and slowed or stopped cars. In Jaguar's example of a stopped car, the stationary vehicle would send a signal alerting approaching cars of the situation. In turn, the approaching vehicles would trigger audible and visual warnings to drivers about the hidden car. Jaguar says that the system could also be applied to emergency vehicles. Emergency vehicles would broadcast a signal to alert drivers well before the lights and sirens get their attention. This would give emergency vehicles a faster, safer path through traffic.

Jaguar Land Rover won't get a bailout from the UK

Sun, Aug 16 2020

Bailout talks between Jaguar Land Rover and Tata Steel with the UK government have ended, leaving both firms to rely on private financing to overcome the impact of coronavirus on business, the Financial Times reported on Friday. The report said that talks for an emergency funding fell through as Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) did not qualify for taxpayer support. It is the luxury car unit of India's Tata Motors and Tata Steel, both owned by Indian conglomerate Tata Group. The bailout plan, titled "Project Birch", had been authorized by Finance Minister Rishi Sunak in May to rescue companies that are seen as strategically important, with the Treasury saying it may step in to support crucial businesses on a "last resort" basis after other options run out. The report, citing a source familiar with the matter, said that the funding scheme became infeasible for Tata as it imposed strict conditions on any lending. "Tata Steel remains in ongoing and constructive talks with the UK Government on areas of potential support," Tata Steel said in an emailed statement. The UK Treasury said it would not comment on individual companies. Tata Motors did not immediately respond to request for comment. Jaguar XE SVR to challenge M3, C63 with supercharged V8 power

Tue, Oct 14 2014

Jaguar has a healthy powertrain range lined up for its new XE, including an array of four-cylinder engines and a supercharged 3.0-liter six that will, for now, serve as the range-topping offering in the XE S. But Car and Driver claims to have it on good authority that an even more powerful eight-cylinder version is in the works, as well. According to C/D, the XE's engine bay has been designed to accommodate the company's ubiquitous 5.0-liter V8 engine, which in the larger XF is offered in several states of tune, including the XF Supercharged with 470 horsepower, the XFR with 510 hp and the flagship XFR-S with 550 hp. Just which version (or versions) would be offered in the XE remains to be seen, but even in its lowest-spec supercharged form, the 470-hp version would already be enough to challenge the 425-hp BMW M3 and the base 469-hp version of the new Mercedes-AMG C63. If Jaguar wants to take on the C63 S, however, it will need to shoehorn in one of the more powerful versions. In the end, Coventry's new Special Vehicle Operations division may opt to offer two versions, like it does with the XFR and XFR-S. Expect the top version, however much muscle it packs, to wear the British automaker's new SVR badge. It just may take a few years before it does so.
