Year:2004 Mileage:31558
Location:

Coudersport, Pennsylvania, United States

This is a very low mileage and hard to find 2004 ebony over cashmere Jaguar XK8 coupe with just 31,585 miles on the odometer. Only 1 in 10 XK8s were produced as coupes and it is very unusual to find one available with so few miles. I am the 3rd owner, having purchased the car from a member of the Pittsburgh Jaguar club in October of 2010 with 21,000 on the odometer. Garage kept, never smoked in and very rarely driven in the rain. Averaging just 3,000 pampered miles per driving season. No wheel rash on factory optional 19" Apollo wheels. Power head rests not working with no other known mechanical issues. The car has been entered in the Watkins Glen Vintage Weekend Concours d'Elegance for the past 3 years. New Continental Extreme Contact tires fitted in the Fall of 2012 with only around 3,000 miles driven. New Interstate battery installed spring of 2013. Extras include an Adamesh Sports Exhaust System with quad tips which gives this Jag a beautiful full throated exhaust note that is commensurate with it's high performance engine. Aftermarket high performance air intake. Aftermarket XKR style mesh grill.  Custom British Autowood shift knob with green growler emblem and matching custom burl walnut British Autowood cigarette lighter. I have all receipts for my ownership and the for the second owner as well. To most Jaguar enthusiasts the 1997 through 2006 XK8 series of Jags has the clearest visual lineage to the iconic E-Type of any modern Jag and never fails to attract attention on the road. This car sold for close to $70,000 new and still drives like it. In my opinion it has the very best ride and handling characteristics of any car I have ever had the pleasure of owning. It never fails to impress with it's combination of elegant drop dead gorgeous styling and highly refined grand touring performance. It is the perfect grand tourer. Selling to acquire a low mileage 2005 XKR of the same series. Please email me with any questions. Personal inspection encouraged. Clear title in hand. Buyer responsible for shipping but I will help on this end. Non-refundable deposit of 500.00 due through Paypal within 48 hours of end of auction with balance by certified bank check, cash or wire transfer prior to receiving the title and keys. Thanks for looking.

Buy a Jaguar E-Type continuation, get a matching wristwatch

Tue, Feb 28 2017

From time to time, automakers release special branded watches. Jaguar and Land Rover are no different. The latest from Land Rover isn't particularly remarkable, but one new Jaguar piece is pretty special. Jaguar partnered with British watchmaker Bremont for a line of watches, the most impressive being a 43mm watch that commemorates Jaguar's continuation series of Lightweight E-Types. Like the cars, only six of the watches will be produced, and they will be offered to the owners of those $1.5 million cars. Each watch features a serial number that matches a corresponding car, and the faces have been designed to look like the instruments aboard the E-Types. The same goes for the hands, which look like the gauge needles. The winding crown also has a tire tread pattern that wraps around the sides, with Jaguar's heritage logo on the top. And these timepieces are built with aluminum left over from the continuation E-Types. On the back is the most impressive part, though. Here is where the watch's automatic winding weight is visible. It's shaped like a vintage steering wheel, and the outer rim is made from real wood. The weight keeps the watch and its exclusive Bremont movement wound. If you can't afford this ultra-limited watch, Bremont has a line of other Jaguar watches with many of the same design cues, at prices ranging from less than $5,000 to more than $11,000. The Land Rover watch is a bit disappointing, since it bears little apparent connection to the vehicles. Zenith, the Swiss company that partnered with Land Rover for the piece, claims the design is inspired by the Range Rover. And Land Rover claims a connection in that a British explorer wore the same series watch while completing an expedition with a pair of Range Rovers. There's also the fact that the watch and the SUV are both made of aluminum, but otherwise, the Zenith watch doesn't look particularly automotive. The box sounds pretty cool, though, since it's fashioned from Land Rover wood and upholstery. Related Video:

Jaguar designs Tour de France racing bike [w/video]

Sun, 01 Jun 2014

Jaguar is known for designing luxury sedans, and it's known for designing GTs. But once in a while it dabbles in a new area of transportation design. It's working on its first crossover at the moment, and even did a speedboat concept a couple of years ago. Now it's turned its attention to bicycles.
While many automakers have designed bikes in the past, Jaguar's project has a bit more of a direct correlation. It's been working with Team Sky - the outfit that has won the Tour de France two years running now - since 2010, furnishing the team with support vehicles for bicycle races around the world. But now it's stepping its collaboration up a notch by redesigning the team's bike.
Working with frame manufacturer Pinarello, Jaguar took the existing Dogma 65.1 racing bike design back to the drawing board. Jaguar's designers and engineers reshaped the frame tubes, seat post, front fork, derailleur and all the components attached to the frame, each part streamlined for aerodynamic efficiency. They ran it through Jaguar's Computational Fluid Dynamics processor 300 times then verified the results in the wind tunnel.

Jaguar Land Rover gets to work on new university R&D center

Fri, Mar 20 2015

Jaguar Land Rover has a raft of new products in the pipeline, from the new Defender to the next-generation XF sedan. But new product isn't the only thing the British automaker is investing in: it's also opening new facilities around the world, including what it's calling the National Automotive Innovation Centre back home in the UK. Based at the University of Warwick, the new $220-million R&D center is the result of a joint effort between JLR, its parent company Tata, the manufacturing arm of the university and the British government. The facility will bring together professionals from the automaker as well as its suppliers with academics to encourage, as the name suggests, innovation in the automotive sector. Its 355,000 square feet are earmarked to become the hub for Jaguar Land Rover's advanced research activities, including "workshops, laboratories, virtual engineering suites and advanced powertrain facilities, equipped to enable a full range of design, visualisation and prototyping activities." The cornerstore was just laid in a ceremony this week, but the facility isn't due to open until the Spring of 2017 when it will encompass some 1,000 employees, including 600 relocated by JLR to the new location from other sites in the UK.
