The Jaguar XK was the first automobile completely designed for Jaguar by legendary automobile designer and now Director of Design at Jaguar, Ian Callum. This is the same Designer who gave us the Aston Martin Vanquish and was a major contributor to the Aston Martin DB7. The New XK was debuted in 2006 and went on sale in 2007. It was ground breaking in many ways. The XK has an Aluminum body and is assembled using technology from the aircraft industry which gives it incredible strength and was designed as a convertible first and offered in a coupe later. This is very important because it eliminated the typical problems associated with removing the roof of an existing coup to create a convertible. The XK does not have the typical squeeks and rattles that result from altering a coupe. Its rigid body also adds to its drivability. It is tight in corners, very sure footed and rewards its driver with an exceptional driving experience. Not wanting to rest on his accomplishments, Mr. Callum refreshed the XK in almost every conceivable way for the 2010 model year. The engine grew in size to 5.0L and generates 385hp with an exhaust note that is brilliant ! ! ! The body received new Tail Lights and badging, the nose was redesigned and the interior was given everything from new colors, Alcantara trim around the fron window, Bowers & Wilkens surround sound, Cooled seat to compliment the heated seats, the new shifter that rises out of the center consol, interior trim and contrast stitching on the dash. Jaguar succeeded in making an awesome automobile even better ! ! !
This 2011 Jaguar XK Convertible was originally purchased in Palm Beach Florida and only used in the summer here in Michigan. When you see this one in person it becomes obvious it came from a good home. The condition is exceptional ! ! ! We have all the keys and manuals, even the floor mats are beautiful. The color combination on this XK is just gorgeous ! ! ! I will be happy to send a Carfax report at your request and bid with confidence at the XK is still covered under Jaguars Platinum Warranty for almost two years and has Complimentary Maintainence included ! ! ! I am available 24/7 at 239-560-6580 to answer any questions you may have. Please don't wait untill the end of the listing. Most of our listings sell before they they end.

Weekly Recap: Takeaways from the Frankfurt Motor Show
Sat, Sep 19 2015We obsessively covered the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show, and naturally, we selected our favorites from this fall's biggest automotive event. Now that the dust has settled, we're looking ahead to what it all means. Here are three takeaways from the floor in Frankfurt. The Germans are serious about electric vehicles: It's a bit cliche to say BMW, Mercedes, and Audi have downplayed electrics in favor of other technologies, like diesels. For a time that may have been true, but those three companies, along with Porsche and Volkswagen, are emerging as leaders in EV development. That was on display in Frankfurt, when all of them revealed either all-electric or plug-in hybrid models. Gas prices are relatively low in the United States, but clearly the Germans are thinking long-term and globally. Everyone is serious about SUVs: You gotta have one, even if you're Bentley or Jaguar. It's 2015 and it's what consumers want. As Jaguar design director Ian Callum put it, "Not to be in the sector would be a little naive for the sake of purity." It's not just the flashy exotic luxury makers. Nissan showed the Gripz concept, which is rakish, radical, and meant to blend traits of SUVs and sports cars into a vehicle that really crosses over. Look for more, especially in the luxury sector, as Rolls-Royce, Lamborghini, and Aston Martin ramp up their own SUV efforts. There's no ceiling to the luxury market: Speaking of high-end cars, companies are continuing to invest in extravagant wares beyond just SUVs. Even during the recession, ultra-luxury makers remained relevant, and now they're back at full stride. In Frankfurt, that was illustrated by yet another S-Class model, the cabriolet, which will come in S550 and S63 AMG variants in the United States. Ferrari also showed off the 488 Spider, and Lamborghini opened up the Huracan LP 610-4 Spyder. Meanwhile, Bugatti's Vision Grand Turismo concept reminded enthusiasts that it's plotting life after the Veyron. European auto shows always draw the glitziest reveals from luxury makers, and this year didn't disappoint. OTHER NEWS & NOTES 2016 Honda Civic redesigned with snazzier style, turbo power The 10th-generation of the Honda Civic debuted this week at events in Los Angeles and Detroit ahead of its launch in the United States this fall as a 2016 model. Honda fortified the Civic with LED lights, an available turbo engine, and a more tech-laden cabin.
Can a Jaguar XKR-S be drifted while blindfolded?
Thu, 27 Dec 2012Bring together a 550-horsepower Jaguar XKR-S and a rain-soaked skidpad, and it's almost impossible to not end up in a sideways drift... accidental or on purpose. With that in mind, the gang over at Autocar got a hold of the monstrous XKR-S for the latest installment of "Will it Drift?," only they raised the stakes a little by attempting the feat with a blindfolded driver
We've driven the XKR-S a number of times here at Autoblog (including a First Drive, Review and Quick Spin), so we weren't at all surprised to learn that blind drifting in the car is possible. But what is remarkable is the ease at which it happened. This, of course, can be credited as much to the car as to the driver, Steve Sutcliffe. Check out the impressive video for yourself, which is posted after the jump.
Jaguar Land Rover remains bullish on diesels
Wed, Sep 30 2015Despite Volkswagen's recent diesel scandal, Jaguar Land Rover is pushing ahead with ambitious plans to roll out the technology across most of its lineup in the coming years. Jaguar and Land Rover will add diesel engine variants to every model in their lineups, except for the Jaguar F-Type sports car. Land Rover launched the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport with available 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 diesels, and together they have sold more than 330 units so far in September, their first month on sale in the United States. JLA officials say they've seen no fallout from VW's emissions problem and are adamant their diesels meet EPA standards. "That has been our strategy, and it is not changing," Joe Eberhardt, Jaguar Land Rover North America CEO, told the Automotive Press Association on Wednesday in Detroit. "You have to deal with the situations as they arrive. We are confident of diesel." Jaguar will get another diesel next year from its Ingenium engine family, which will initially be sold in the XE sedan and the F-Pace crossover. It's a turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder unit and makes 180 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque. A JLR spokesman said the Ingenium has not yet gone through the EPA certification process, and the diesel-powered models will arrive in the fall. Jaguar also plans to add diesel engines to the flagship XJ and XF sedans. Land Rovers, including the Discovery and Evoque, will also get diesel options, and the company estimates the technology will offer 20- to 30-percent improvements in fuel economy, depending on the vehicle. Eberhardt said it is "too soon to tell" if the diesel market will be weighed down by Volkswagen's situation. The German automaker admitted to cheating on emissions tests to make its diesel-powered cars appear to run cleaner than they actually do in real-world situations. The ensuing outrage forced longtime VW chief executive Martin Winterkorn to step down and prompted a reorganization of the company, which faces legal and regulatory action around the world. Still, Eberhardt maintains JLR is "very confident" in its diesels, which are part of its strategy to grow sales around the world. Land Rover has experienced rapid growth under the ownership of Indian conglomerate, Tata Motors, while Jaguar is set to revitalize its lineup with new entries like the XE and F-Pace to reach a broader market segment.
