2000 Jaguar Xk8 Base Coupe 2-door 4.0l on 2040-cars
Rockwall, Texas, United States
Named "ONE OF THE 10 MOST BEAUTIFUL VEHICLES EVER BUILT" by Motor Trend Magazine. This elegant coupe is one of only approximately 1800 to ever come to the States. It is easy to see that this beauty has been pampered from day 1. In addition, I had a well known Jaguar dealer fully service the car. Being a perfectionist, I then had an award winning shop set up the car for her next 100,000 miles. To sell a great car like this one, I think you should know the seller somewhat as well. I have had a great love for cars and trucks for over 60 years. Since 1982, I have built, customized, or restored 657 fine cars, trucks and SUV's. I have 6 cars in national museums. A Chevy SSR I built was named BEST IN THE WORLD by the General Motors team that actually designed the car for Chevrolet. I built a series of 25 commemorative vehicles as a tribute to my friend, automotive genius, Don Yenko. I am the only builder ever to have two cars featured in a single issue of Car Restomod Annual. In brief, I love cars and believe in striving for perfection. Please have a look at my website just to give you a better idea as to the car I offer now. yenko-wildfire.net This is a nice Jaguar!!! I wanted the car as close to new as possible. I had them perform all things preventative, including struts, shocks, knock sensors, wheel bearings, brakes, transmission, differential, and a thorough tuneup including plugs and wires. In short, I call it my 84 point inspection and correction of all things mechanical, electrical, functional and safety oriented. After all things were upgraded or completed, I am able to include a 36 month/unlimited mileage warranty through CARS. This Ultra-rare and pampered piece of rolling art has only 98,854 actual miles or less than 6800 miles per year! This car is the final descendant of the legendary E-Type and features Jaguars first use of an incomparable V8 engine with just under 300 HP. The power is there. The handling is exhilirating and in my latest 2400 mile "test drive", I got 24.9 mpg AND that's with my lead foot. The major negative for this vaunted speciman is that it may take up to 10 minutes to fill the gas tank........3 minutes to fill it and 7 minutes to field comments and questions from interested parties. A hoot to drive and ready for the road course or concourse. Lovely piece of road art that you won't pass on the highway like your Corvette, Mercedes or BMW. A very realistic reserve lets you own this wonderful car for well under its true value and its neo-classic increasing value. Glad to answer your inquiries at 814-229-3402 or billrea33@comcast.net The car resides most of the time near Dallas, Tx. Shipping is possible. I reserve the right to end the auction early, as I am advertising the car locally. The first person to see and drive her will definitely be the next owner. |

Jaguar planning all-electric E-Pace crossover
Mon, Oct 26 2015Jaguar hasn't quite finished rolling out the new F-Pace (pictured above), and already reports are circulating of another crossover model to join it in the near future. According to Automobile, it'll be called the E-Pace. Here's the kicker: it'll be all-electric. The E-Pace would take advantage of ultra-efficient aerodynamics in order to drop its drag coefficient to just 0.28 g, thereby increasing efficiency. It'd also be the first fully electric model from Jaguar, and would likely be even smaller than the sporty new F-Pace. Through-the-road all-wheel drive would give it poor weather traction, and the electric motors would provide plenty of low-end punch. The model would go up against the Tesla Model X and a potential production version of the Audi E-Tron Quattro concept revealed in Frankfurt. Rather than handle production in-house, the E-Pace could emerge as the mysterious upcoming model which Jaguar Land Rover is planning to have Magna Steyr build on its behalf. The factory in Graz, Austria has long built the G-Class for Mercedes-Benz, continues to assemble the Mini Countryman, and has also handled models like the Aston Martin Rapide and BMW X3. Automobile figures that Jaguar would need to make at least 20,000 units each year to make the model profitable. For comparison's sake, Tesla is projected to move about 33,000 Model S units in 2015. Even if the E-Pace falls short of this target, the project could be worthwhile for JLR purely for publicity purposes and to help cut its average fleet emissions. Related Video:
2016 Jaguar XF Review
Thu, Feb 4 2016We last drove the new Jaguar XF in Spain last September, sampling it in 380-horsepower S spec and in 2.0-liter turbodiesel forms. We found both versions to provide a supple ride, despite some body roll, and loved the supercharged model's ample thrust from any engine speed. The ZF-provided eight-speed automatic was also applauded for its competence, making the sport paddles an unnecessary formality. If anything, our last drive only left us pining for a better infotainment system, as Jaguar Land Rover's painfully outdated one has been a target of our ire for a while. A limited amount of time behind the wheel, and a desire to see how much the slightly less powerful 2016 Jaguar XF 35t R-Sport gives away to its S-badged stablemate, leads us to our tester. In British Racing Green, the new XF is both more handsome than the slightly manic-looking old XF, yet also slightly more anonymous. This is a lithe shape, with crisp lines and few gimmicks, save the fender vents, which are about as tasteful as that element comes. The car's charms are especially evident from up front. Despite a distracting cut line, the hood is tastefully built up in two steps: a sharp rise from the headlight/fender area, and in the middle a tasteful power bulge. The overall effect is one of thoughtful, purposeful design – after all, this is Ian Callum's work – rather than taking a corporate-mandated design language and scaling it up or down to suit the hardpoints. Spend some time around FCA's UConnect system and you'll see where Jaguar needs to improve. Inside, this XF is a mixed bag. Let's start with the positives. Despite being shod in a rather boring black hide, the front seats are wonderfully comfortable and supportive without aggressive bolstering. The cabin would really wake up with a more interesting leather, like the brown that Jaguar calls "Brogue," covering the seats and door panels. Whatever you think of the rotary shift selector, the knurling on its diameter and the solidity of its action conveys the sense of craftsmanship you'd expect from a British luxury car. Some other controls, such as the cheap-looking and -feeling control stalks sprouting form the otherwise wonderful steering wheel, do not. And that takes us to the infotainment system. This XF does away with Jaguar's old, much-maligned user interface, which was blocky and balky in equal measures.
Jaguar Land Rover said to favor Europe rather than US for new plant
Sat, Feb 21 2015With its plants running at full tilt, Jaguar Land Rover is in desperate need of additional manufacturing capacity. That's led to reports that the Indian-owned British company was looking to join European, Japanese and Korean automakers in America's southern states, all while it opened new plants in the UK and China. The company even announced it would be building the Land Rover Discovery Sport in Brazil. Now, though, reports are suggesting that JLR is looking at Europe for a new facility, rather than the US, with Automotive News claiming the company's execs are eyeing the lower costs afforded by Austria and Turkey. The report cites the Birmingham Post (UK), the broadsheet that's closest to the company's headquarters. According to the original report, labor costs and wage disputes with unions are ruling out another factory in the UK, while those same disputes with labor outfits may also be souring the automaker on a US facility. "At this stage Europe seems more likely than America. The union pay dispute had a big effect," an unnamed source told the Post. "There is a feeling of alienation that has been left over from the way the pay talks were handled." JLR, meanwhile, offered a solid no comment to the Post, with a spokesperson saying, "No decision has been taken on future manufacturing locations. We will continue to evaluate opportunities to increase our manufacturing footprint in the future." Related Video:
