This Jaguar drives smoothly, smoother than MANY cars you will find.  It's fun to be seen in, classic lines, comfort and prestige, matching tires, power windows, locks, cd player works ( a Jag CD changer in the trunk that works in conjunction with the in dash Jag stereo deck), the top goes up and down with the power button and the top looks nice, cruise control works, horn too of course, a/c works but seems lacking in that last setting to really blow hard.  This final year Jaguar XJS models are very desirable, don't miss out.  Paint shows some fade and oxidation due to Arizona sun.  Maaco quoted me $350 for painting the vehicle but I have NOT done it.  The car is being sold No reserve NO RES NR and starting at only one cent, yes only a penny!  Someone will be getting a deal!  The drivers seat has a decent sized hole in the leather from entry exit rubbings, so you will want to address that with an upholsterer, I have a seat cover over the entire seat currently and here in Arizona it's hot and hardly ever rains, you can have the seat cover.  The wood still looks nice on the interior.  I like the way this cat purs at idle.  I like the way the automatic transmission shifts,  the hood latch sometimes takes a time or two to engage shut, this 18 year old No reserve car is Being sold AS-IS, 100%.  The clock on the dash isn't keeping time.  There is no warranty nor any guarantee on this vehicle.  Simply pay for an inspection PRIOR to BIDDING please.  Here comes a disclaimer: Older used cars can squeak or need a tweak or even repairs.   I am guaranteeing nothing.  If something needs fixing you are the responsible party.  Buyer pays for shipping.  No scams please! Take note: she is an 18 year old automobile and this Mondays high here is to be 111 degrees and hotter in the surrounding areas.  Do not try and drive an 18 year old car across our desert and America, getting stuck in hickville looking for a car part would not be fun.  Please be prudent and have it shipped.  Be smart.  It's just the intelligent thing to do with this car and any older car.  The unforgiving Arizona desert is no place to have a breakdown.  Many feel this is the year to buy because it's the last year of the run.  This Jaguar has the cell phone still on the center console too.  Payment must fully clear MY BANK before the vehicle goes anywhere.  Please have the transporter pick this car up within 7 days of your check clearing Many positive attributes surround this Jaguar, but if you are expecting perfection OR ARE retentive then please look elsewhere. I can't POST THIS JAGUAR ANY CHEAPER THAN A PENNY WITH NO RESERVE, be kind with the feedback.  Take a look at what other 96 jaguar XJS convertables are selling for.  That being said I do enjoy driving and hearing compliments about her.  I hope you enjoy it too.  ABSOLUTELY NO RESERVE !  She sells to the high bidder.

Regulators consider adding more carmakers to Takata recall

Tue, Sep 29 2015

Volkswagen's diesel emissions scandal has been getting a lot of press recently, but the Takata airbag inflator affair could be grabbing headlines again soon. According to Bloomberg, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is contemplating an expansion to the campaign that could add seven automakers to the 12 already affected. They are Jaguar Land Rover, Mercedes-Benz, Spartan Motors, Suzuki, Tesla, Volvo Trucks, and VW Group. To be clear, there's no recall for any of these automakers, yet. The government is simply asking for a full list of vehicles that each of them have with Takata-supplied inflators containing ammonium nitrate propellant. The agency is concerned this substance could play a roll in the ruptures. "NHTSA is considering not only whether to issue an administrative order that would coordinate the remedy programs associated with the current Takata recalls, but also whether such an order should include expansion of the current recalls," the letters say. All seven can be viewed, here. From a report supplied by Takata, the government already knows that the company supplied 887,055 inflators with ammonium-nitrate propellant to VW and 184,926 of them to Tesla. In an incident during the summer, a side airbag allegedly burst in a 2015 VW Tiguan. In early September, NHTSA put out a revised report that there were 23.4 million inflators to be replaced in 19.2 million vehicles in the US. An earlier accounting from the agency had about 34 million of the parts in 30 million cars. High humidity is still believed to be among the biggest risk factors for the ruptures. Although, if ammonium nitrate also gets the blame, some already recalled models might need to be repaired again. Related Video:

The Jaguar E-Pace shows off a rather cab-forward look in these spy shots

Wed, Jan 11 2017

It seems the Jaguar F-Pace may be getting a little sibling soon. A smaller crossover, which we expect will be called the E-Pace, has been caught during winter testing. The SUV seen here appears to be sized like compact luxury crossovers such as the Audi Q3 and BMW X1. This also fits with Jaguar's brand director's statements that it has been considering an SUV for this class. Much of the car is well camouflaged, but taking a close look, this E-Pace has a surprisingly short dash-to-axle ratio. It's not as drastic as the electric I-Pace concept, but there's so little space between the bumper and the base of the windshield that we sincerely doubt that a longitudinal inline-4 or V6 could be lurking under the hood. And, if the E-Pace does in fact use a transverse-mounted engine, it probably doesn't share a platform with any of its rear-drive-based stablemates. It may seem strange that a company known for its rear-drive cars is considering a transverse, front-drive-based vehicle, but there are reasons it may be going this way. For one thing, Jaguar's brand director said he wasn't sure that the company's existing platforms could be scaled down far enough for such a compact crossover. That would seem to preclude using an existing rear-drive platform or developing a totally new one. In fact, it only leaves one real option in the Jaguar Land Rover line for this vehicle: the Range Rover Evoque platform, which is also shared with the Discovery Sport. It's a small SUV platform with a transverse layout. It's also currently available and should be cheap to adapt; perfect for capitalizing on the hot crossover market. We just hope Jaguar can inject some more fun into it than Land Rover did with the Discovery Sport. Using that platform also means Jaguar would probably borrow one or more engines from the Evoque and Discovery Sport. In the US, both models are only offered with a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-4 making 240 horsepower. Overseas, both vehicles are available with 2.0-liter turbodiesel four-cylinders, making either 150 or 180 horsepower too. Considering that the 180-horsepower diesel model will arrive in the US under the hood of the Jaguar XE, it's possible that it will show up in the E-Pace as well. Don't expect any of the overseas manual transmissions to make the trip, though. Jaguar only offers a manual on the F-Type sports car in the US, so there really isn't any reason to add one to a small crossover.

2018 Jaguar XJ stars in 'Game of Drones'

Mon, Sep 18 2017

Looking for a fun way to put the its 2018 XJ in the spotlight, Jaguar turned to a fresh form of racing. The automaker placed three of the long-wheelbase XJL models in a studio, and surrounded them with illuminated, door-shaped gates. Then Jaguar brought in a pair of professional drone racers to compete in the glowing circuit, which includes pass-through of the rear of the XJL cabins. The drone pilots, donning VR headsets, sat in the rear of the 575-horsepower version of the XJL, the Jaguar XJR575, and launched the drones from the trunk of the car. They raced the drones through the gates and through the cars at speeds of up to 60 miles per hour. "The course was a great test, but the fact we were able to go at such speeds proves how much space the doors of the Jaguar XJL gave us," said the winning drone pilot, Brett Collis. "Despite having to fly through the cabin, we were still pushing the drones to their top speeds." The "Game of Drones," as Jaguar dubbed the race, took place at Alexandra Palace in London, but the automaker is bringing similar experiences to more locations. Jaguar plans to go on an "Art of Performance Tour," where it will bring drone and Smart Cone driving challenges to the public, free of charge.
