1994 Jaguar XJS 2+2 convertible, automatic, 110k miles. Clean OR title, current tags. Selling as I've just purchased an XJR... which is a little more practical with kids. As anyone who knows the later XJSs will know - the back seats are more of a suggestion than actual seats. They're quite good for keeping boxes of things warm and cosy though.
This car was my daily driver up until around a month ago - I wouldn't hesitate to drive it anywhere. It has no overheating issues, the transmission is smooth, and it starts first time every time. The trip computer even works. Car needs nothing mechanically. It had a few electrical issues when I bought it, but I've fixed most of those:
The A/C works just fine (fairly rare for a convertible, apparently), but the heater takes an age to get warm on a cold day. The front lower spoiler has two 1" cracks in it. The convertible top is watertight but could do with a proper clean, and the interior headliner needs replacing. I had a new tan headliner made, which will come with the car - I haven't fitted it myself because.. well.. it's December. Other than that.. I'll let the photos speak for themselves. Yes, that is snow on the ground - it was 12F when I took the photos! Usual stuff.. I require a deposit within 24 hours of auction end and the balance within seven days. I'm happy to take PayPal for the deposit, but the balance must be paid in cash or by a verifiable bank check / other secured means. I can assist with loading/shipping and I'm happy to store for longer if prior arrangement has been made. Do please ask any and all questions.. it's a great car and I'd love to see it go to someone who can appreciate it. Thanks for reading! |

Jaguar I-Pace EV will finally be revealed, available to order March 1
Wed, Jan 31 2018It sure feels like the Jaguar I-Pace electric car concept was revealed longer ago than November 2016. That might be because in addition to running barely camouflaged production models around for months, the company has even announced a one-make race series with the car before we've seen the revealed production model. But the wait is almost over. The company finally announced a reveal date of March 1. This comes just before the Geneva Motor Show, and the debut will be shown on a livestream. Not only that, but Jaguar will be taking orders for the EV the same day. Reveal and order dates weren't the only things Jaguar announced regarding the I-Pace. The company also said the I-Pace will be able to get an 80 percent charge from a DC fast charger in just 45 minutes. This charge time necessitates a 100-kW fast charger, though, so that time may vary in real life based on what chargers are available. This is also greater charging capability than Jaguar claimed when the concept was revealed, which promised an 80 percent charge in two hours on a 50-kW fast charger. Jaguar hasn't revealed many other details about the production car yet. When the concept was shown, Jaguar claimed it made 400 horsepower and had a range of 220 miles. The prototypes we've seen on the road also look extremely similar to the concept, so there shouldn't be much, if any, disappointment in the styling department when it's revealed. Related Video:
2018 Jaguar XJ stars in 'Game of Drones'
Mon, Sep 18 2017Looking for a fun way to put the its 2018 XJ in the spotlight, Jaguar turned to a fresh form of racing. The automaker placed three of the long-wheelbase XJL models in a studio, and surrounded them with illuminated, door-shaped gates. Then Jaguar brought in a pair of professional drone racers to compete in the glowing circuit, which includes pass-through of the rear of the XJL cabins. The drone pilots, donning VR headsets, sat in the rear of the 575-horsepower version of the XJL, the Jaguar XJR575, and launched the drones from the trunk of the car. They raced the drones through the gates and through the cars at speeds of up to 60 miles per hour. "The course was a great test, but the fact we were able to go at such speeds proves how much space the doors of the Jaguar XJL gave us," said the winning drone pilot, Brett Collis. "Despite having to fly through the cabin, we were still pushing the drones to their top speeds." The "Game of Drones," as Jaguar dubbed the race, took place at Alexandra Palace in London, but the automaker is bringing similar experiences to more locations. Jaguar plans to go on an "Art of Performance Tour," where it will bring drone and Smart Cone driving challenges to the public, free of charge.
Stolen Jaguar E-Type reunited with owner after 46 years
Mon, 22 Sep 2014Barely six months into owning it, Ivan Schneider had his Jaguar E-Type stolen from outside of his Manhattan apartment in 1968. Now, 46 years later, the somewhat beat-up convertible has been recovered just before it was about to be shipped to a new owner in The Netherlands.
US Customs agents at the Port of Los Angeles found the car during a routine check, and they contacted Schneider to arrange returning it to him. When the feds found it, the E-Type was already in a shipping container ready to go to its new owner. The condition is hardly perfect today, including rough paint and a replacement door, but Schneider is ecstatic to get his classic back.
Understandably, the now 82-year-old never thought he would see his droptop Jaguar again. Schneider told the LA Times that he bought the E-Type for $5,000 after winning a case as a lawyer, and it was originally painted gray. Now, he plans to have to have the vintage convertible restored to its former glory in New York.
