Like New! This 1992 Jaguar XJS V12 Convertible was purchase for my Mother by her husband in late 1991 as a 5 year marriage gift. My Mother and her husband died in a private plane crash in 1995 which at that time my sister inherit it in 1995 with 11606 miles. My sister drove it as a daily driver until she died in 2004 which the car had 67971 miles. The car was suppose to go to me but the courts awarded the car to my X brother in law. Her husband then register the car into his name and drove it until 2006 which it then had 71393 miles. In 2006 my brother in law gained weight and was unable to drive the car on a full time basics. From 2006 until 2011 the car was drove an average 191 miles per year. In 2012 my brother in law gained more weight and became ill and was unable to drive any car. In 2012 I took my brother in law to court for title of the car. In 2012 & 2013 there was a non-opp put on the car. The car sit for 2 years before the courts awarded me title. Since 2006 until now (2014) there has only been 1686 miles put on my 1992 Jaguar XJS. When I picked up the car in late 2013, it needed a battery to start the car up. I put a battery in it and the car started right up. No smoke from exhaust. It sounded as if the car had never been stored. I drove it about 10 feet then got out to expect for any oil leaks on the ground. There were no leaks. I took it about 5 miles on a test drive, trans shifted OK, all gauges worked fine, radio worked, door locks, everything in the car worked fine and there were no noises coming from the engine. I then put it on a car trailer and headed home. Once home I cleaned the engine compartment, replace all hoses, replace all electrical wiring, change engine oil and trans fluid and had the coolant system flushed. Had AC charged (AC blows cold) and replace all ABS wiring. Had brake job done both front and rear. Tires were pretty much rotten out from sitting for two years so tires were replace. Spare tire is ORGINAL from factory and car has orginal tool kit. Car had factory Cassette Radio which I replace with New Alpine CD player. I still have the orginal radio with the radio code. As of Nov 2013 I started to complete the car as being Showroom Condition. As of Nov 2013 I have invested over $17000. Everything that I could get that was OEM I purchased. New Convertible Top, New Headliner, New Convertible Top Cover. New Wood Trim, New Interior, Carpet was in perfect shape and all it needed was a good carpet dyeing. I replaces all switches because the pictures on each switch had worn off because of 23 years of use. Center Console redone. New 48 oz carpet mats and it has a car cover with cover bag When I took the car in for paint, I have a signed statement from the owner of the Paint shop saying that there were NO RUST found any where on the car (Calif Born Car) and that there were NO DENTS on the car. I also have Two History Reports, one from Auto Check and Vin Check Pro for my XJS. The Paint job has a Life Time Warranty which is transferable. Once at the paint shop, all crome and front and rear chrome bumpers was removed and refished. Front and rear window rubber were replace. Both door window rubber replace. Convertible Top rubber inserts replace. The car is now like new. When the engine is at an idle, you can not tell if the engine is running without looking at the RPM gauge. I'm selling my XJS because also I'm a big person. At 6'2 and my weight at 275 pounds it take alot for me to get in and out of her plus being a sports coupe it's not like driving a big Caddie plus the main reason is, it just brings back to many memories. This Car sold back in 1992 for $68900. The only difference between now and back in 1992 is the car is now 22 years older and it has 73000 miles on it...... But looks as if he just came off the showroom floor. Maybe this car was the car of your dreams 22 years ago but at that time it was not in your bugget or simply put, you couldn't afford it!
On Feb-27-14 at 09:49:33 PST, seller added the following information: Hello. I having a small problem with the Auto History Report and their Auto Check Score. Auto check has me a score of 35 which is below range which there range is from 36-62. I ordered a History Report from them on 12/06/2013 which my rating was 44 which at that time the car had not been painted and nothing had been done to the interior. I contacted E Bay to have them correct this issue which they said they could not help me. To correct this problem I had to call History Report and explain the issue on why did my rating dropped from 44 to 35 in two months. They said the reason the score was 35 was because there were 5 owners since 1992. I corrected them with documentation that I'm the 4th owner and all perious owners were from same family. History Report said they will correct the problem within 10 days.....Lots of help, my auction only last for 10 days. The reason on adding this comment is because I've had a few emails wanting to know why the rating is low and at the same time I'm claiming the car is in Mint Condition. |

Cars with the worst resale value in 2022
Thu, Nov 10 2022Car values are all over the map right now. Used vehicles that were worth a small fortune earlier this year are now coming back to Earth, but the new vehicle supply remains tight. Prices are still elevated overall, but some models have seen more severe price drops. Depreciation strikes almost every model, supply constraint or not, though a few vehicles are leading the way. New research from analytics iSeeCars found that a handful of cars depreciated more than 50 percent over five years, with the BMW 7 Series dropping 56.9 percent and an average price cut of $61,923 over that time. The vehicles with the highest depreciation — or worst resale value — over five years: BMW 7 Series: -56.9% Maserati Ghibli: -56.3% Jaguar XF: -54% Infiniti QX80: -52.6% Cadillac Escalade ESV: 52.3% Mercedes-Benz S-Class: 51.9% Lincoln Navigator: -51.9% Audi A6: -51.5% Volvo S90: -51.4% Ford Expedition: -50.7% iSeeCarsÂ’ research showed that midsize trucks, sports cars, and fuel-efficient vehicles were slowest to depreciate over five years, while itÂ’s clear that luxury brands tend to lose value much faster. As iSeeCarsÂ’ Executive Analyst Karl Brauer explained, used buyers donÂ’t value high-end vehiclesÂ’ features as much as the first owners, so resale values tend to be softer. The tech and options that made the cars so expensive and appealing new donÂ’t add the same value on the used market. Read more: Cars with the best resale value Interestingly, electric vehicles also depreciated quite heavily, though they were just short of the abysmal numbers in luxury segments. The Nissan Leaf depreciated most among EVs, dropping by 49.1 percent. The average EV depreciation is 44.2 percent, with the Tesla Model S and Model X sliding in right under the bar at 43.7 and 38.8 percent, respectively. As iSeeCars notes, itÂ’s important to be vigilant when car shopping and not let your emotions win over reason. Shiny new luxury cars look great in the showroom, but you could end up taking a bath when you try selling them a few years later on. Jaguar XE bares its claws in 74 images [w/video]
Wed, 01 Oct 2014The XE may prove to be the most vital new model to Jaguar's expansion. But to date we've only really seen it in top-spec, supercharged XE S form. That ends right here and now, however, as Jaguar releases details, photos and even a brief video clip showing the entire range - including those most customers are bound to buy.
Globally speaking - or at least in its home market - Jaguar will offer the XE with five different engines and in four different trim levels. The new Ingenium engine family includes two diesels and two turbocharged gasoline options along with the top-of-the-line supercharged V6 that will serve as the XE's performance flagship model, at least until a new SVR version comes along. Both six-speed manual and eight-speed automatic transmissions are on offer, and overseas buyers will also be able to choose between base SE, mid-range Prestige, opulent Portfolio, dynamic R-Sport and range-topping S trim levels.
Of course not every engine is available in each trim level and with either transmission, so instead of 40 combinations we're looking at 22. Once the XE reaches American showrooms, we'll likely be looking at even fewer, as we're not expecting the manual and diesel versions to be offered Stateside. Stay tuned as well for our live impressions from the floor of the Paris Motor Show. But in the meantime you can scope out all the details and UK specifications in the press release below, along with the short video and the gallery of 74 high-resolution images above.
