Jaguar F-Type Coupe patent images exposed, 4-cyl coming?

Last year, Jaguar told us that "if you get a convertible right, it's easy to do a coupe" in reference to a coupe version of the Jaguar F-Type, and now we might be seeing our first unofficial look at a hardtop version of the convertible. The German publication Auto Motor und Sport has dug up what it is reporting to be patent images filed by Jaguar showing the lines of the new coupe.
If these are actually patent drawings, they have definitely been enhanced with color and shadowing compared to what we usually see from OEM patent filings. We wouldn't be surprised if they are just altered images of Jaguar's C-X16 Concept, but either way, it's going to be a sharp car. On top of the new coupe, the article also says that the F-Type could be getting the same 240-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder engine that is currently used in the Jaguar XF, as well as the Land Rover LR2 and Range Rover Evoque.

Jaguar F-Type 'Design Study' headed to Goodwood

With the Goodwood Festival of Speed taking place this weekend, Jaguar has announced it will be there with its new trio of R models as well as a design study version of the hot new F-Type sports car. While we've already seen the XFR-S last year at the LA Auto Show and the XJR and XKR-S GT at the New York Auto Show, the F-Type design study has our attention.
Based on our recent sighting of a fixed-roof F-Type being tested in full camouflage, this could mean that we'll finally get to see a sexy F-Type Coupe in near-production form. Of course, with all of the other R branded models on display, Jaguar could also unveil a sporty new R - or maybe even an RS - F-Type roadster. Whatever is planned, it will not be a static display - Jaguar says the design study car will be in action, making the fabled run up Goodwood Hill with chief engineer Mike Cross at the wheel. Evo pits Jaguar XKR-S vs. Mercedes SL63 AMG in heavyweight droptop fight

We recently received the sad news that the Jaguar XK is ceasing production by the end of the year, but what better way to bid it farewell than with some big, smoky powerslides? The retirement of the sporty GT isn't actually the topic of the latest video from Evo - it's on hand to compete against the Mercedes-Benz SL63 AMG to see which is faster around a track. Still, we can think of it as a wonderful sendoff for the Jag.
Both convertible grand tourers get their laps around the course, and they couldn't be more different. Driver Jethro Bovingdon gets some grins out of them both, but absolutely giggles while behind the wheel of the XKR-S convertible. The SL63 AMG is the more powerful of the two, but as we know, that doesn't always matter at a racetrack.
