Vehicle Description 2004 Jaguar XJR 390 H.P. / Navigation 2 Owner / Heated Seats The interior is in beautiful condition. The leather seats show no wear at all. The seats are heated in the front as well as in the rear. The dash is in great condition. All the gauges seem to function properly and the digital display looks great. There are no check engine light or warning lights on of any kind. All the wood trim along the dash and door panels look very good. I tried all the buttons located on the dash and door panels and everything seemed to function properly. The air conditioning blows ice cold and the heater works. The door panels are all in great shape and all the power windows work properly. The sunroof functions properly. The headliner is in fantastic shape. The radio works and the speakers sound great. The car also has factory large touch screen navigation. The exterior of the car is beautiful. The body is straight and dent free. I did not see any dings either. This is a rust free California car. Both bumpers look nice and straight as well. The paint looks really nice and glossy. Please check out the pictures to see condition of rims and tires. There is a spare tire in the trunk. All the glass is in good shape with no visible cracks. This car comes with 390 horsepower and absolutely flies. I have driven the car for a couple days and it drives nice and smooth. The engine runs strong with no smoke or funny noises and the transmission shifts nicely. This would make a great daily driver. Jaguar Land Rover may build factory in Saudi Arabia
Tue, 11 Dec 2012The Middle East is one of the fastest-growing markets for Land Rover, so it makes sense that the automaker is looking to set up shop in the region. According to Automotive News, Jaguar Land Rover is in talks with the people of Saudi Arabia to build a factory in the country at an expected initial cost of $1.2 billion. Still in the early stage of talks, the proposed facility could start up by 2017 using locally sourced materials such as steel and aluminum.
Such an arrangement could be beneficial for both entities as Saudi Arabia looks to diversify its oil-reliant economy and Land Rover could get local production capacity of around 50,000 units. The report also says that the agreement talks about the possibility for Jaguar models to be built at the same plant further down the road.
This won't be the first vehicle produced in Saudi Arabia - that honor goes to the KSU Gazal-1 - but it will be the first from a major global automaker.
Lapping Le Mans with 1956's version of a dash cam
Wed, 01 May 2013Mike Hawthorne and Ivor Bueb won The 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1955 driving a Jaguar D-Type. The following year, a few days before the race, a British broadcaster put cameras on Hawthorne's car, hung a mic from a plate on his race suit and had him narrate a lap of the Circuit de la Sarthe.
It is compelling viewing. A new pit complex was built after the massive accident on the front straight in 1955, but this was still a time when crews prepped for the race on roads that were open to the public. Hawthorne's lap includes maneuvers to avoid bicyclists and cars, and gems like letting us know that doing 185 miles per hour down the Mulsanne Straight was where you could "relax a little, recover your energy." Fri, 01 Mar 2013Rumors of an entry-level, BMW 3 Series-fighting Jaguar sedan have been floating around for quite some time, but thanks to our intrepid spy photographers, we now have visible proof that such a model is, in fact, in the works.
Despite this tester's XF fittings, it's clear that what lies beneath is an entirely different beast. The doors have been shortened, roofline adjusted, rear deck lopped off and exhaust replaced, giving us a better idea of the new sedan's smaller dimensions and details. The new Jag, which may be dubbed "XS," is expected to ride on Jaguar's PLA (Premium Lightweight Architecture) platform, touting weight-saving materials that should do a lot to keep overall heft to a minimum. Both turbocharged four- and supercharged six-cylinder powertrains are expected to be on tap.
Codenamed X760, the new small sedan will reportedly hit the market in 2015. Earlier reports have indicated that a new crossover - Jag's first ever - riding on the same platform will arrive shortly thereafter, so that suggests that the platform will be fitted with all-wheel drive as well.
