2000 Jaguar Xjr Supercharged Runs But Needs Work - Good Project on 2040-cars
Naperville, Illinois, United States
I AM SELLING THIS 2000 JAGUAR XJR FOR A CUSTOMER OF MINE. THIS CAR WAS A DAILY DRIVER UNTIL IT STARTED TO RUN HOT. THE CAR WAS BROUGHT INTO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS AND WE BELIEVE THAT IS HAS A BAD HEAD GASKET, HOWEVER THE CUSTOMER DECLINED FURTHER DIAGNOSIS TO SAVE MONEY SO WE STOPPED LOOKING INTO THE PROBLEM.
THE CAR STARTS, RUNS, AND DRIVES, BUT WILL START TO RUN HOT/OVERHEAT WHILE DRIVING. IT WILL NEED TO BE TOWED. THIS CAR HAS ANTHRACITE (BLACK) PAINT WITH AN OATMEAL INTERIOR. IT ALSO HAS HEATED SEATS, PREMIUM SOUND, TRACTION CONTROL, POWER EVERYTHING, SUNROOF, CD CHANGER, RAIN SENSING WIPERS, BUILT-IN GARAGE DOOR OPENER. IN ADDITION TO THE "RUNNING HOT" ISSUE I ALSO NOTICED THAT THE HOOD LEAPER IS MISSING, THE HEADLINER IS SAGGING, HALF THE RADIO SCREEN DOES NOT WORK, AND THE FRONT CUP HOLDER DOES NOT WORK. THERE IS ALSO ONE PLASTIC COOLANT PIPE THAT IS LEAKING SO IT IS CURRENTLY BYPASSED WITH A RUBBER HOSE SO THE CAR CAN BE STARTED. MY CUSTOMER NO LONGER NEEDS THIS CAR SO I AM SELLING IT FOR HIM AS IS. THE CAR IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN THE BACK LOT OF JAGUAR OF NAPERVILLE. PLEASE CONTACT ME FOR MORE INFORMATION OR TO COME SEE THE CAR. THE CAR HAS A CLEAN ILLINOIS TITLE. |

The first Jaguar Project 7 is the new kid in Harry's Garage
Sat, Jan 2 2016The Jaguar Project 7 is more than just an F-Type with a dab more power and a special body, and Harry Metcalfe (who advises Jaguar Land Rover Special Vehicle Operations, which built the car) is here to show us why. This limited-production model is something truly special, and despite Metcalfe's role with JLR it's hard to misinterpret the enjoyment in his eyes when the supercharged V8 roars. Metcalfe's Project 7 is number one of just 250 cars built and wears a British Racing Green body with orange accents around the nose, mirrors, brake calipers, and underneath the rear spoiler – classic sports car style with a little modern flash. His example is also special because the entire build team signed the area underneath the trunk lid. While the engine comes up to temperature during his drive, Metcalfe shows that the Project 7 can be a fine grand tourer, and he eventually puts the throttle down to let his audience here the sublime engine. Metcalfe claims the limited edition Jag actually has too much horsepower but he means that in the best way possible. Driving it reminds him of being behind the wheel of his Pagani Zonda – a fine compliment for a grand tourer to be compared to an ultra-exotic supercar Find out why by taking a ride with Harry.
Evil Brits star in Jaguar's first-ever Super Bowl commercial
Wed, 29 Jan 2014Chrysler's Imported from Detroit commercial from Super Bowl XLV is one of the most powerful car commercials in recent memory, and Jaguar is taking a similar approach - albeit with a more villainous spin - for its first-ever Super Bowl spot titled Rendezvous. While Chrysler and Eminem focused on hometown cheerleading, Jaguar is using its $8 million (the going rate for a 60-second commercial in this year's game) to play up the Hollywood tradition of typecasting a Brit as the bad guy.
In the spot highlighting the all-new F-Type Coupe, Jaguar looked to director Tom Hooper (the man behind movies like The King's Speech and 2012's Les Misérables), who filmed on location in London with British bad guy actors Mark Strong, Ben Kingsley and Tom Hiddleston. As the commercial implies, Brits make perfect bad guys with their style, sound and power, which are all traits evident in the F-Type.
The commercial will air in the fourth quarter of this Sunday's game, but you can watch it now in the video posted below. Jaguar has also included a press release as well as a second behind-the-scenes video showing how the ad was made.
Jaguar Land Rover develops 'transparent' A-pillar and ghost car [w/video]
Mon, Dec 15 2014Jaguar and Land Rover are known for making highly covetable luxury, performance and off-road vehicles, but the British automakers are on a bit of a technology bent lately. Keen to show that it can not only keep up but lead the way when it comes to safety and convenience features, JLR has come out with two more systems to show the way forward. JLR's new 360 Virtual Urban Windscreen system, showcased on an XJ sedan, adopts two novel approaches to getting around town. First up is the Transparent Pillar system, which uses a combination of cameras and display screens embedded in the A, B and C-pillars to make them virtually disappear. Instead of acting as blind spots limiting the driver's visibility, the system uses the roof pillars to display what's going on around the car. If there's an obstacle hidden by the A-pillars, the system shows you the potential hazard as if the pillars weren't there, and brings the obstacle to the driver's attention. If the driver turns his or her head to see a vehicle passing alongside, it projects the vehicle on the inside of the B- or C-pillar. The second technology integrated in the next-generation head-up display is the Follow-Me Ghost Car Navigation system, which takes a page out of the video-game playbook by projecting a "ghost car" on the windscreen that the driver can then "follow" instead of listening to turn-by-turn directions or looking at a map in the dashboard display. The system is similar to what Jaguar recently showcased on an F-Type for track use, but applied for more practical use on city streets and highways. The release of these systems also follows the integrated smart navigation and infotainment system displayed on the Range Rover Sport and the Transparent Bonnet showcased on the Discovery Vision concept. Though these new technologies might not be quite ready for production applications, their impressive sum total goes to show that Jaguar Land Rover is ahead of the curve when it comes to reducing driver distraction and increasing the driver's visibility. Scope out the latest systems in the press release and video below for a closer look of what the future holds for British-style luxury motoring. This content is hosted by a third party.
