2000 Jaguar Xj8 Base Sedan 4-door 4.0l on 2040-cars
Wakefield, Massachusetts, United States
I am selling my 2000 Jaguar XJ8 with 160,000 miles. Yes, I know high miles. But in all honesty this car runs great. The timing chain was replaced in 2012, the transmission was overhauled halfway through the life of the car, all electrical elements work, it has high performance tires that are less than a year old, a custom exhaust and resonator from Lou's Custom Exhaust, brand new headliner, LED rear lights, sunroof, 6 disc CD changer, heated seats (all operational), very cold AC, heat, Anti-theft alarm, sport mode, keyless entry, custom front grill, and much more. I have taken great care of my car, my ex did routine maintenance including oil changes and brakes and unfortunately I have to sell due to the "divorce." The check engine light is on and the car was checked by a Jaguar specialist in Wakefield. One oxygen sensor needs to be replaced (B Bank Upper Stream) but it does not affect the performance of the car in any way. All other oxygen sensors are fine. There is one small rust spot on the right side of the car. I have been in contact with an auto body shop and it is very affordable to fix. Please email me for more details and to discuss further. Asking $3,000 or best offer. If you are wondering why there is tape above the mileage (I bet you are now) it is because my ex replaced the rear lights with LED's to make them brighter and safer at night for me. The car does not recognize them. I would suggest keeping the tape or putting the OEM bulbs back in. I am listing this car in fair condition because of the check engine light but this car really is a great gem. I would love to see it go to someone who will take great care of it! Thanks for looking. Contact me anytime.

Jaguar releases C-X75 concept build story
Thu, 27 Jun 2013If you want to know what was going through the minds of decisionmakers at Jaguar when the company decided to build the batty C-X75 Concept, look no further than the quick video after the jump. Jaguar set about building a car with the performance of a Bugatti Veyron, the electric range of a Chevrolet Volt and the emissions of a Toyota Prius, and they turned to a legendary engineering firm to help make it happen. Williams, the same crew behind Williams F1, helped Jaguar stitch the concept car together, and the result is unlike anything we've seen before.
The twin-charged 1.6-liter four-cylinder mounted amidship is paired with an electric motor at each wheel for a combined output of over 850 horsepower. And, since the whole chassis is hewn from carbon fiber, a production version would've been light enough to give machines like the McLaren P1 and Ferrari LaFerrari a run for their money. Shame they apparently couldn't make the business case work. Watch the concept build story in the video below for yourself.
Jaguar Land Rover to badge vehicles based on horsepower
Wed, Sep 27 2017Add Jaguar and Land Rover to the list of automakers changing their nomenclature due to the realities of engine downsizing. Spy photos of an unreleased Jaguar F-Type model show a badge reading P380 AWD. The letter P evidently refers to Petrol (British for gasoline), and 380 is the engine's horsepower. According to Auto Express, the entry-level F-Type will be badged P300, indicating the power output of its 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. Land Rover is expected to follow suit with the new badging nomenclature. Diesel models will get a D instead of a P, while electric and hybrid models will get an E badge, along with a number corresponding to total system power. So, expect the I-Pace to sport an E400 badge on its hind end. One question we have, though, is how the disparity between mechanical, metric and imperial horsepower will be dealt with. While such power-specific badges are arguably unnecessary, we expect the trend to proliferate as engines continue to get smaller but turbocharging and electrification keep horsepower climbing. At least JLR's badges are easier to understand than the messy way Audi plans to rename its models or the way BMW completely dismisses actual engine size in its naming convention. Wacky Jaguar crossover mule is a mind-blowing mashup
Tue, 03 Dec 2013As Jaguar prepares to introduce its first-ever utility vehicle, our spy shooters have captured this jacked-up XF mule out testing. While a production Jaguar crossover will surely resemble something closer to the recent C-X17 Concept, we can't help but think that the automaker could sell at least a few of these lifted, four-wheel-drive sedans.
Other than proving that Jaguar is hard at work developing this new model using a cobbled-together body, there are some details we can put together about this luxury CUV. For one it's about the same length as an XF, while the ride height is obviously taller and the tire track wider. We're not sure what the rig on top of this mule is for, but the whole car has us reminiscing about the old sedan versions of the Subaru Outback and the AMC Eagle (with a luxury spin, of course).
