1972 JAGUAR XJ6 SEDAN 4.2L STRAIGHT SIX w/ 3-SPEED AUTOMATIC MAINTAINED & SERVICED | COLD A/C | SERVICE RECORDS | NO FRAME OR BODY RUST!
An extremely nice example of a Series-1 Saloon that has been lovingly cared for by the same owner for almost 30 years. This Jaguar was originally owned by the wife of the Edward Casner of Casner Jaguar in El Paso, Texas. It was then sold to Raul Carrillo, the Michelin Tire rep who serviced the Casner dealership. The current owner, Bob purchased it from Raul in 1985 and has owned it since! We are selling on behalf of Bob, the current owner (3rd owner). He has invested more than $20,000 in maintenance / service over the last 29 years. All actual records/receipts will be included with the sale. It has always been in Texas, has always been garaged, and is one of the rare vintage Jags with no rust.
Odometer History & Current Reading Current odometer reading is at 27,744 miles. Current owner purchased it with odometer showing approximately 9,000 miles. 2nd owner (Raul) had the speedometer cluster replaced sometime between 1975-1985, so true miles are actually unknown. It's a shame we don't know 100%, because it could be accurate or near accurate....but we cannot say for sure. Drivability Everything (power windows, A/C, radio/cassette) works except for the clock. This car could be a daily driver, a Sunday driver or a collector car. It runs very well and the transmission shifts like it did when it rolled out of the dealership the first time. Great running car. As far as the interior / exterior condition...see the 40+ photos below! It's in great condition. The entire car was repainted in 1989 to the original spec paint. Pretty enough to show, dependable enough to drive.

Nearly 200 units of the Jaguar I-Pace recalled again due to fire risk
Mon, Oct 30 2023Jaguar has issued a safety recall that applies to nearly 200 units of the electric I-Pace. The crossovers included in the campaign can catch fire due to a battery-related problem, and they should have already been fixed but ended up not receiving the required software update. Assigned recall number 23V-709 by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the recall includes 199 examples of the 2019 to 2023 I-Pace built between February 15, 2018, and February 7, 2023. These vehicles were also part of recall number 23V-369 issued in March 2023. Jaguar has since received one new report of a car in the United States catching fire; the incident happened on September 8, 2023. When it issued the original recall, it cited eight reports of an I-Pace catching fire on our shores between June 2019 and May 2023. Jaguar explains the recalled cars are at risk of a "thermal overload," which can manifest itself as "smoke or fire" that "may occur underneath the vehicle, where the high-voltage traction battery is located." The company hasn't detailed the root of the problem, but it previously noted that the updated software monitors the battery pack's status, detects when it's at risk of a thermal overload, and warns the driver accordingly. It also limits the battery's charging capacity to 75% if it identifies a problem and instructs the driver to visit a dealer as soon as possible. The issue is that some dealers "used a non-approved service diagnostic tool" that didn't upload the updated software to the car, hence why the 199 vehicles included in campaign 23V-709 are being recalled a second time. Jaguar's fix remains the same: It's asking owners to take their I-Pace to the nearest authorized dealership so that a technician can update the Battery Energy Control Module (BECM) software. Owners who have already paid to get the problem fixed will be able to claim a refund from the British brand. And, they're being asked to park their car away from structures, such as a garage or a house, and charge outside for 30 days after the software update has been completed. Jaguar will begin notifying owners of affected cars by mail on December 15, 2023.
Watch this bad parker get what's coming to him
Fri, 02 Aug 2013If you're lucky enough to have a nice vehicle, do your fellow gearheads a favor and don't park like a clown. Seriously. Not only will you anger everyone who is trying to find a place to park, but your nice car is a billboard reinforcing the stereotype that car people are self-important and inconsiderate.
Take this gentleman for example. He has a Jaguar XK, and understandably wants to take care of it. Rather than parking it far, far away from any other cars and getting a bit of exercise by walking to his building, he takes up two spots (albeit barely) close to the structure. From the cameraman's narration, we can tell his coworkers are less than thrilled about his inability to stay between the lines.
Naturally, they wanted to teach him a lesson, so they parked a bigger vehicle as close to his driver's door as possible. Mr. XK's attempts to enter his vehicle are rather amusing, culminating in his climbing through the passenger side and scooching over to the driver's seat. While we can debate this sort of treatment all day long, it was effective. The video includes a follow up at the end showing where the XK driver parked the next day, and as you might guess, it wasn't in the same spot.
