Up for auction is this beautiful Jaguar Xj6 Series One 4.2 Short Wheel Base
I have just acquired the car from the 2nd owner who has had the car for about 25 years. It has been maintained regardless of cost by a well know Jaguar Specialist in Southern California.

The car is totally rust and very genuine. It has been treated to a new paint job a few years ago and a partial re trim which includes new leather seat covers and front foot well carpets. The car does still have its original door panels with exception of the door tops. Other than the foot wells the remaining Carpet is all original and in good order.

Under the bonnet is in very original condition and merely requires a good de grease and a clean to make it match the rest of the car.

The car does benefit from a XJ S3 steering rack which give a more positive feel through the steering wheel.

Whilst it is not a concors car it is as genuine as you will ever find which is an absolute joy to drive.

The car is currently located in southern California, however shipping can be arrange to any location at an extra charge.

Please feel free to call me on 001 805 267 6795 should you have any questions.

The winning bidder will be required to pay a 10% deposit within 2 days and the balance within 7 days of the auction ending

Good luck and happy bidding.

2014 Jaguar XJR is large, in charge

Wed, 27 Mar 2013

There are few things in this world we love more than a huge, supersonic-feeling sedan, and Jaguar has just ripped the sheets off of its newest entry into that set of bruisers. The 2014 Jaguar XJR puts down a full 550 horsepower and 502 pound-feet of torque courtesy of a supercharged 5.0-liter V8. All that thrust lands on the rear tires through an eight-speed automatic transmission, and the big aluminum-chassis'd four door can sprint to 60 miles per hour in a skinny 4.4 seconds. Top speed sits at an electronically limited 174 mph, and Jaguar estimates the machine will still return up to 23 miles per gallon highway.
Do. Want.
The 2014 XJR also features stiffer spring and damper rates along with an electronically controlled rear differential. Of course, there are plenty of styling tweaks on hand to separate the most menacing XJ from the rest of the family. Those include new fascias, R emblems and massive 20-inch wheels outdoors as well as special seating and trim elements indoors. Asking price? That would Be $116,000 for the XJR and $119,000 for the long-wheelbase L version. Check out the full press blast below.

Lapping Le Mans with 1956's version of a dash cam

Wed, 01 May 2013

Mike Hawthorne and Ivor Bueb won The 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1955 driving a Jaguar D-Type. The following year, a few days before the race, a British broadcaster put cameras on Hawthorne's car, hung a mic from a plate on his race suit and had him narrate a lap of the Circuit de la Sarthe.
It is compelling viewing. A new pit complex was built after the massive accident on the front straight in 1955, but this was still a time when crews prepped for the race on roads that were open to the public. Hawthorne's lap includes maneuvers to avoid bicyclists and cars, and gems like letting us know that doing 185 miles per hour down the Mulsanne Straight was where you could "relax a little, recover your energy." Watch him work it like the men of old in the video below.

Jaguar XFR-S pitted against Mercedes E63 AMG

Wed, 21 Aug 2013

It was Steve Sutcliffe at Autocar who got the tough job of comparing the Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG to the limited edition Jaguar XFR-S on the track and sheep-strewn British B-roads. In UK spec both Mephistophelean sedans wrangle the same 542 horsepower, but step out of the corral and things look to weigh heavily in the Mercedes' favor: it has more torque, it's lighter, it's quicker from 0-to-60 and it's less expensive.
But that's on paper. Sutcliffe was given the job to see what effect all those letters and numbers had on the real-world driving experience. One of them is "an absolute hoot at the track" with great steering and weight management, one is "magnificent." To find out which is which, watch the video below.
