This Jaguar has been garage kept and truly only driven on special occasions. It has 21,300 original miles. I am the 2nd owner. The original owner had many cars and this one only went out for weddings and other special events. It was always serviced by the local Jag dealer. I have the original sticker of $37,750 and the original owners service records. The tires have been replaced with Pirellis that have a lot of tread. This is the last of the beautiful original Jags before Ford changed (ruined IMO) the designs. This car starts right up and has no problem cruising at 70 MPH. This car has been very well cared for and continues to be. Gas treatment is added to every tank of gas to make sure nothing gets gummed up. It has been stored in a garage and under a cover. The cover comes with it. These model Jags have two common old age issues....sagging headliner and rust by the back windshield. The original owner had both of these professional repaired by the leading classic car restoration service on the East Coast. I had to replace the valve that controls the gas between the two gas tanks. I had it done by a 40 year Jag master mechanic here in DE. I love this car but I just don't drive it enough to have it make sense to keep. It belongs in a collection and should be entered into car shows. The Delaware black and white license plate IS NOT INCLUDED in the sale. The Jag is available for inspection. It is available for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction if someone buys it locally. Almost everything works perfectly except the power mirrors don't adjust smoothly and should be serviced, and the windshield washer fluid does not squirt strongly (either jets are clogged or pump needs to be serviced). There are a few very minor signs of wear on seats (as you would expect with a car of its age. There is one very small ding in one door but it is hardly noticeable. Come get this beauty and you will very likely love it like I do!

Road & Track names its 2013 Performance Car of the Year
Thu, 14 Nov 2013Road & Track recently staged its first annual Performance Car of the Year test, pitting 13 new and updated performance cars against each other on track, then graduating the top six to a road test before picking a winner. Additionally, the magazine staff picked the best automobiles of the year in eight categories.
But first, let's cover the PCotY segment. Here's the list of cars brought to the comparison test: Audi R8 V10 Plus; BMW 435i; BMW M6 Competition Package; Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Z51; Ferrari F12 Berlinetta; Ford Fiesta ST; Jaguar F-Type V8 S; Jaguar XFR-S; Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG S-Model Wagon; Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series; Mini John Cooper Works GP; Nissan GT-R Track Edition; and Porsche Cayman S.
To find out the results of the comparison, head over to Road & Track's website or check the press release below, where you'll also find the magazine's top-rated vehicles in eight categories. Want more? Head over to the 2013 PCotY hub. But before you do that, take a stab at guessing the winner of PCotY (we'll give you one hint: it isn't a Porsche).
Lapping Le Mans with 1956's version of a dash cam
Wed, 01 May 2013Mike Hawthorne and Ivor Bueb won The 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1955 driving a Jaguar D-Type. The following year, a few days before the race, a British broadcaster put cameras on Hawthorne's car, hung a mic from a plate on his race suit and had him narrate a lap of the Circuit de la Sarthe.
It is compelling viewing. A new pit complex was built after the massive accident on the front straight in 1955, but this was still a time when crews prepped for the race on roads that were open to the public. Hawthorne's lap includes maneuvers to avoid bicyclists and cars, and gems like letting us know that doing 185 miles per hour down the Mulsanne Straight was where you could "relax a little, recover your energy." Watch him work it like the men of old in the video below.
David Brown Automotive launches old-is-new-again Speedback [w/video]
Thu, 27 Mar 2014Back in January, we reported on a new British coachbuilder called David Brown Automotive. In February, the startup released the first details and images of its inaugural project, and now it has revealed the finished product.
It's called Speedback, and it's based on the Jaguar XKR. But while it's built on a modern chassis (relatively, anyway - the XK arrived in 2006 and is soon to be discontinued), it's been rebodied to look like a classic British GT. That means that, while it may look like a classic Aston Martin, it's got a thoroughly modern 5.0-liter supercharged V8 under the hood with over 500 horsepower on tap.
Otherwise, little in the way of details have been disclosed - including what you can bet will be an astronomic price that tends to come with these sorts of coachbuilt customs. But the important parts are what you can see, and that means the finest British craftsmanship inside and out. Whether you like the particular style or not, of course, is entirely a matter of taste.
