This 1993 XJ6 Jaguar has been with us for approximately 10 years. It's a real "looker" and turns heads when driving down the street. People are always coming up to me and asking me if I want to sell.

The pictures are recent. The car looks great.

Body and paint in great shape. I would rate the interior and exterior as an 8, with 10 being perfect. Car is black on black. No rips or tears.

Car runs in "limp" mode and has been sitting for 2 years in storage. If you know Jaguars, you know what to do to fix it. Mileage is approximately 220+K. Car is a real "looker". If you are purchasing the car, you will have to pay for the tags to bring up to date.  The transmission is running in "limp" mode. That means the transmission will need to be either rebuilt or serviced. The car drives well other than that.

Issues to be aware of before committing to a purchase:

* Transmission needs work, running in "limp" mode. If you don't know what that is, ask your mechanic.
* Engine has 220k plus miles on it and may need work in the future. Running without issues at this time. No ticks or other noises. Oil was changed every 3000 miles.
* Sunroof does not work. It needs a motor. The sunroof does not leak.
* Headliner may need to be replaced in the future, however, currently is not an issue. Most people don't notice it. You can purchase one on eBay.
* Tires are newer tires.
* I have owned the car for over ten years.
* It was professionally repainted 6 years ago and it looks great. NO cheap paint job.

Buyer to assume payment of tags which are roughly $395.00.

Is the Jaguar XFR-S really worth $17k more than the XFR? [w/poll]

Wed, 22 Jan 2014

Adding performance to a car is rarely cheap - whether you're looking to do it yourself or rely on the factory to do it for you. In the case of the new Jaguar XFR-S, the cost differential over an already-impressive (and somewhat expensive) XFR is a stout $16,800. Auto Express recently got a hold of both cars to see whether that price pays off on the track.
For that price, Jaguar gives the XFR-S an extra 40 horsepower and 41 pound-feet of torque - for a total of 550 hp and 502 lb-ft - to go with a stiffer suspension, beefed-up differential and, of course, meaner styling. We don't want to ruin the results of the AE video, but right off the bat, the host says that you can feel the extra power of the XFR-S, but that it's not a "night-and-day difference."
Scroll down to see what happens when two high-powered Jags go head-to-head on a track. And then be sure to let us know whether or not you think the added money is worth it for the XFR-S in the completely informal poll below.

Audi and Jaguar Land Rover recalls address seatbelt issues

Tue, Aug 2 2022

Audi and Jaguar Land Rover are each recalling several thousand vehicles for separate potential seatbelt issues. The recalls cover the 2022 Audi A3 and S3; 2022 Jaguar F-Type, F-Pace and XF; and the 2022-23 Land Rover Defender, Discovery, Discovery Sport, Range Rover Sport and Range Rover Velar. Examples of these vehicles may have shipped with seatbelt pretensioners that will not function properly in the event of an accident.  Audi is recalling its sedans for tensioner devices that may not adequately restrain drivers or passengers during a crash. The issue was discovered during Korean market crash testing of the high-performance RS 3.  "The seat belt tensioner in the affected vehicles serve the purpose of holding the passenger in his position in the seat," Audi said in its defect report to NHTSA. "In the event of a crash, the retention force of the seat belt may not reach the intended level. As a result, the position of the body can be further to the front of the seat, which leads to a negative influence on the whole restraint system, increasing the risk of injury." A different company, Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), meanwhile, also has an issue with a batch of pretensioners installed in its cars and SUVs. Pretensioners are the devices that fire off to rapidly retract the seatbelt when a crash is detected. Most utilize an explosive charge and pressure tube JLR says that some pretensioner devices provided by one of its suppliers may not have properly-specified pressure tubes that may not channel the gasses to the retraction mechanism correctly.  "A damaged front seat belt pretensioner tube may have been installed on the seat belt retractor," JLR's report said. "This may result in a reduced level or complete loss of pre-tensioning in the event of a crash and increased occupant injury." Owners of the models included in both recall campaigns should receive notices from the manufacturers in the coming months.  Related video: Recalls Audi Jaguar Land Rover Ownership Safety SUV Sedan

Here's what a front-row seat looked like in 2014 Mille Miglia

Tue, 26 Aug 2014

From 1927 to 1957, the Mille Miglia was one of the great, romantic European road races of the golden era of motorsports. The cars were fast, beautiful and loud but also extremely dangerous and regularly claimed drivers' lives. After two fatal accidents in '57, the event finally had to reform and came back in 1977 as a historic rally held over the course of several days. That didn't make things boring, though, and Xcar found that out firsthand with a front-row seat to this year's race in a 2015 Jaguar F-Type R Coupe.
Xcar was actually following the Jaguar team this year that included Ian Callum and Jay Leno in an XK120, which we previously got a glimpse of when it was covered on Jay Leno's Garage. Where Leno focuses on a more personal story of competing, this one takes a more macro view. You really get an idea of how crazy the Mille Miglia still is, and while the F-Type is way too new to actually compete in the rally, it can still wear an event sticker and drive with the vintage racers.
One amazing fact about today's Mille Miglia is that if you're competing in the event, there are basically no rules. The roads are technically still open to traffic, but the police shut down intersections and provide a rolling roadblock. Xcar's F-Type alternated between following on the course with the classics and snipping off chunks of the route to watch the participants arrive at each stop. Check out the video to experience fantastic historic rally.
