1987 Jaguar XJ6 SAJAV1347HC473870   Only 83,225 miles

You are looking at one of the nicest original Series III Jaguar sedans you will ever find.  This car is finished in white with blue leather, and light walnut woodwork.  All the paint and exterior trim is clear and nice, including the wheel rims.  This car was repainted as all the late Series III sedans suffered premature paint cracking.  There are no major dents, scratches or flaws, and the body structure all appears original.

The non-smoker interior is also original and nice.  The wood is very good and the leather is exceptionally good.  The car has brand new floor mats over good original carpets.  Trunk carpets are complete and nice.  Underneath this fine car is original and rust free – something that is increasingly hard to find.

This car still has the original radio.  It’s got the original owners manual package, too.  It has a clean MA Certificate of Title. Everything works – try it yourself and see!

Under the hood this car has just received $7,800 of work, including:

  • -       Perform major service with all fresh fluids, filters, plugs, etc.
  • -       New heater core and repairs to the servo system
  • -       New AC compressor
  • -       Make sure all windows, sunroof, and power locks work properly
  • -       Fitted four new tires
  • -       Removed rear sub-frame and rebuilt brakes with new calipers, rotors, and pads.  Rebuilt parking brakes.
  • -       Replaced the radio antenna and serviced original radio
  • -       Replaced worn bushings in front end and replaced lower ball joints
  • -       Replaced wipers and repaired washers
  • -       Clean and lube all locks and handles
  • -       Replaced electric fuel tank switch valves
  • -       Replaced battery
  • -       Replaced failed ignition module
  • -       Replaced transmission mount
  • -       Align front end

This car can be seen by appointment at:

Jaguar sends off XK with limited-run Final 50 edition

Fri, 18 Apr 2014

The Jaguar XK coupe and convertible are pointed at the production sunset, and the cars that will end their retail lives in the US will be the dubbed the XK Final Fifty Limited Edition. As the name implies there will be fifty of them made, 25 of the fixed-roof variety, 25 of the droptop.
As the name doesn't imply, however, they'll be based on the XKR and be injected with liberal doses of XKR-S and XKR-S GT: the 510-horsepower V8 from the XKR will be mated to normally optional items like the Dynamic and Performance Packs, machined front suspension components from the XKR-S and a 10-millimeter lower ride height, the louvered hood from the XKR-S GT and Vortex 20-inch forged wheels. The sheetmetal gets a bath in Ultimate Black paint "with special trim" and badged door sill plates. Convertibles will come black roofs, but the Performance Active Exhaust will keep you apprised of the 5.0-liter V8 bellows no matter which car you choose.
They'll go into production this summer and hit dealerships in the fall. There's a lengthy press release below with more info on how this cat will sing its swan song.

Jaguar's Callum refutes two XJ bodystyle rumor

Wed, 01 May 2013

Not long ago, we relayed word from Edmunds that Jaguar was planning to split its next-generation XJ sedan into two bodystyles - one model that continued the ambitious design approach fostered with the current X351-based model, and another, more upright model to better appeal to China's conservative design sensibilities.
We expressed some cynicism in the idea, noting that such a strategy "might catch more profits for the marque, but it might also represent a setback to design head Ian Callum's vision for a thoroughly modern Jaguar portfolio." Callum has been quite insistent in his belief that Jag needs to be a forward-thinking brand in terms of design, and the two-model strategy seemed to conflict with that idea. We tried to get some comment from Callum at that time, but were unable to reach him.
As it turns out, our cynicism was well-placed. Autocar says that while the next XJ will continue to have two wheelbases, Callum has denied the two-model talk, saying flatly: "I can't see us doing two bodystyles. The cost would be enormous and the message inconsistent. You have to believe in what you produce and to do two bodystyles would undermine that."

Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee season 2 opens with Sarah Silverman and Jag E-Type

Sat, 15 Jun 2013

Season Two of Jerry Seinfeld's Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee kicked this week in style. How much more style is there to be had than in a 1969 Jaguar XKE, after all? This time around, Seinfeld and Sarah Silverman spend some time driving around in the "slinky, sexy" Jag, talking comedy and then grabbing breakfast.
In addition to the kickoff of the show's second season, this episode also represents the start of a 24-episode sponsorship with Acura. The original deal promised short ads at the beginning and end of each episode, but this time around, Seinfeld "stumbles upon" a 2014 Acura RLX, which is obviously - and admittedly - the work of product integration. Scroll down to watch Seinfeld and Silverman exchange banter with the Jag's beauty as a happy backdrop.
