VIDEO ABOVE / PRESS PLAY Some of these photos were taken at Texas Classic Cars of Dallas' showroom located at 1912 W. Mockingbird Lane here in Dallas, Texas, 75235. This is a 2-owner car. The 2nd owner purchased this car approximately 20,000 miles ago. We hope you enjoy our presentation. Feel free to contact Dave at 214-213-7072 or Maris at 214-616-2317 with any questions. The exterior shows well, but shows paint wear & sun fade upon further inspection. The exterior showcases the solid and straight original body. The paint finish is faded and checking. This is a 20-footer paint job. There are a number of imperfections shown well in the following photographs. Here is checking and fade that is prevalent throughout the exterior. This is a rough area on the driver's side lower part of the windshield trim, I'd say the most unattractive spot on the car. It is solid here as well, however there is rust coming through in this area. There are scratches on the passenger rear door shown above. The interior is the original red leather. The front seats show wear, but are intact. The rear seating area appears to have been seldom used. The headliner and door panels are in good condition as is the dash pad. The wood grain accents throughout have some cracking and damage in a few places, photographed. The factory gauges are functional as is the factory-optioned cassette stereo. The gauges are working. Under the hood is the extremely reliable inline 6-cylinder DOHC engine. This power plant is known for its reliability and is no different in this classic XJ-6. The mileage currently stands at 165,212 logged on the odometer. The original hood insulation is intact but worn as shown above. Further inspection of the engine compartment will confirm factory components throughout. The trunk is solid and free of corrosion these cars typically suffer. A original spare wheel/tire is included (base wheel, not wire) along with the factory jacking equipment in its original carrying case. The optional Jag wire wheels could use a professional detailer's touch to make them sparkle even more. These 15-inch rims are wrapped in very nice Pirelli P4000 radial tires (215/70ZR15s) for long distance cruising. The chromed grille is in excellent condition as are the front and rear bumpers. The underbody displays solid original flooring throughout this dry climate Jaguar. There is some oil leaking underneath the car as well. Enjoy our remaining photo slideshow with many additional photos. Again, feel free to contact Dave at 214-213-7072 or Maris at 214-616-2317 with any questions. Jaguar to reveal small sedan at Paris show
Wed, 11 Dec 2013Small sedans are big business for luxury automakers. The C-Class is the top seller for Mercedes-Benz, much as the 3 Series is for BMW, but Jaguar has historically missed out on that market. Its last attempt, the X-Type, proved woefully inadequate, and Jaguar hasn't attempted to take on that market again since. But that's all about to change.
Coventry has been working on a new small Jaguar for some time now (using test mules like the one above wearing modified XF body panels), and according to the latest reports coming in from the UK, it will showcase the result of those efforts at the Paris Motor Show next October. The show car will take the form of a pre-production concept that is expected to preview the production version very closely before the final item is unveiled at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show.
Tipped to be called XS (somewhat appropriately for the brand's smallest model), the new sedan is expected to be the first to use the company's new aluminum platform previewed by the C-X17. Expect styling to follow along similar lines to said crossover concept and the F-Type sportscar, with eventual sedan, wagon and coupe versions to round out the family.
Jaguar Land Rover backs Arc startup that sells $100,000 electric motorcycles
Wed, Nov 7 2018Before it even put its first motorcycle on the road, new startup Arc reeled in a major player to back its ambitious product plan. In conjunction with the reveal of the fully electric Vector superbike at the Esposizione Internazionale Ciclo Motociclo e Accessori ( EICMA) show in Milan, Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) announced it is placing capital in Arc, using JLR's investment company InMotion Ventures. Arc claims the Vector is the first all-electric motorcycle with integrated Human Machine Interface (HMI) to come to market. Arc, not to be confused with Keanu Reeve's Arch motorcycle company, has a pretty typical mission statement: "To use progressive design and technology to transform people's relationship with an automative experience. For us, for you, for our planet." At the core, Arc wants to make connected, clean, exclusive superbikes, and the Vector is its first try. Although Arc didn't get into the nitty gritty details about the make-up of the bike, it did give some surface specs and information. The bike's structure is built using a carbon composite to create a "unique Arc battery monocoque." Weight is also kept low using carbon fiber swing arms. There is no mention of the size or type of electric powertrain, but Arc claims it will have a highway range of about 120 miles or a city range of 170 miles on a single charge. Arc says it will be able to sprint from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 2.7 seconds and has a top speed of 124 mph. Stopping power comes from a Brembo brake system, while ride and handling relies on Ohlins dampers. The launch does not stop at the motorcycle, but includes gear, as well. The Vector links up with a jacket and a helmet for a fully connected experience. Partnering with U.K.-based impact protection design company Knox, Arc created the Arc Pilot System. Using audio, the armored Origin riding jacket provides haptic feedback based on numerous riding inputs to help keep the driver safe and aware. Furthermore, Arc linked up with luxury helmet maker Hedon to build the WiFi-connected Zenith helmet that houses an integrated projection heads-up display. In addition to showing things such as speed or battery life of the bike, the helmet uses a built-in rear camera to display other vehicles in the rider's blind spots. The rider can command the system using controls on the bike or via voice commands.

Jaguar's Special Operations division announced today it has bought the world's largest collection of classic British cars. The 543 cars had belonged to wealthy dental entrepreneur Dr. James Hull, who sold the entire collection to the British automaker for $170 million dollars. Jaguar scored 130 of its own vehicles in the lot, including a XK, SS, C, D and E-types, XJ as well as a few rare Land Rovers, according to Road & Track. The division that bought the cars is not only responsible for the heritage museum, but also for special projects. Special Operations finished the 18-car run of the lightweight E-types, albeit 50 years late. Jaguar plans to use the cars as promotional pieces to highlight the history of the brand, according to Cars UK. Related Gallery Retro Features Car Shoppers Still Want
