1985 Jaguar XJ-6
82,000 miles!!
This Jaguar is a real sweetie. A base model, this car has 80,000 original miles and it shows. The seats look as good as a 10yr old car - with NO rips, holes or tears. The interior is classic Jaguar with wood-handled shifter, black switches on the center console for elec windows and SUNROOF, and a tan and black look that is just beautiful. The exterior is 96% GREAT with only one little bubble on the rear fender. The rest o the body is straight, un-dented, and un-rusted. The paint is also 100%, but is cracking under the clear coat. From no more than 10 feet - it looks like a nice paint job, but it definitely needs a redo. The wheels need polished badly, but are nice, unpitted and have all the center caps.
The engine - the Inline-6 - starts right up and runs well. Has new plugs and newer wires, new air cleaner ($40!) and has been treated well from last owner. Transmission shifts well with no delay or hesitation. I have had this car out 200 miles and have had no frets at all about doing so. The cruise control will work, but is a little fussy and for some reason wont set higher than 63ish (not sure why). I would not hesitate to drive anywhere with this car. Bout the only thing to say is that it isn't a rocket by any means, but it is very quiet, takes bumps like a champ and cruises well.
There are a few little things one could fix - the AC needs replaced (heater is very good), the trip computer is toast, and there is a weird jiggle noise under the rear speaker panel, but I cannot locate it. Most of the things that are wrong are minor and for a classic collector, would be an easy fix.
Why sell?? Well, HONESTLY, I am a muscle car buff and always have been, so the "Britishness" just isn't "me". I also am a bit too big for the seating - as I weigh more than most NFL linemen. For a Jaguar fan, this car is really nice and in need of a home.
$250 due upon winning auction. Final payment due within 10 days of auction end. I will be home for a look-over if you want one and I will be home most hours of the day if you need to transport the car a far distance. This car is being sold AS-IS with no warranty. I would not hesitate to drive anywhere, but it is an almost 30 year old car - so be realistic.

Good luck and God Bless!

Jaguar shows off production XE body in camo
Sun, 18 May 2014Jaguar turned to Twitter and Facebook to reveal the production form of its coming XE sedan that we'll see for real at the Paris Motor Show. This is the first of a series of show-offs, Jaguar planning to wrap the bodywork in see-through camo that shows off the aluminum monocoque and other internals the company will use to promote the XE over its German rivals. That aluminum structure, which Jaguar calls iQ[Al], will also be used for other Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles.
Underneath that long bonnet and ahead of that terribly short trunk will come a series of Ingenium engines, the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engines in diesel and petrol forms that will come in a variety of power options, and the 3.0-liter supercharged V6 that can also be found in the F-Type. Before the XE goes on sale early next year, you can click the image above to get a slightly larger view of what the The Leaping Cat's near future looks like.
Jaguar Land Rover moves closer to building Slovakia plant
Tue, Aug 11 2015Jaguar Land Rover has announced its intention to build a new assembly plant in Slovakia. Though it has yet to make the final decision, the British automaker has signed a Letter of Intent with the Slovakian government. Its next step is to launch a feasibility study before committing. If the company does go ahead with plans, it wouldn't be the first automaker – or even the first European luxury automaker for that matter – to start producing in Slovakia. Nor would it be the first Jaguar Land Rover plant outside the UK, either. The Volkswagen Group, PSA Peugeot Citroen, and Kia all manufacture in the Central European country. VW's Bratislava plant in particular handles production of the Touareg, Audi Q7, and Porsche Cayenne. In the past few years, JLR has expanded its production capacity to new locations outside of the UK. It has a new factory in China, one under construction in Brazil, and has been manufacturing in India – home country of its parent company Tata – since 2011. It recently announced a manufacturing contract with Magna Steyr in Austria, and is investing in its facilities back home as well. Though yet to be finalized, the prospect of manufacturing in Slovakia has proven more favorable to JLR than other locations in Europe or in the United States or Mexico – all possibilities that the company says it looked into. It has yet to reveal just what it would produce there, saying only that "the plant would manufacture a range of aluminium Jaguar Land Rover vehicles," that the plant would be earmarked to come online in 2018 and eventually ramp up production to 300,000 vehicles. The prevailing wisdom would seem to indicate, however, that the site is being considered for the next-generation Land Rover Defender. Jaguar details new Ingenium four-cylinder engines [w/video]
Mon, 29 Sep 2014When Jaguar lifted the veil on its new XE sports sedan earlier this month, it only revealed details on one engine - that being the 3.0-liter supercharged V6 in the flagship XE S. But we already knew that the British automaker's new entry-level model will offer many other powertrain options, and now it has revealed a little more.
Jaguar has been developing a new family of 2.0-liter four-cylinder engines it calls Ingenium, which will be offered in a wide array of configurations and specifications. In advance of its debut at the upcoming Paris Motor Show, the Leaping Cat marque has announced the specifications of the two diesel versions. The first will offer 161 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque and some of the best environmental credentials on the market. There will also be a more potent version with 177 hp and 317 lb-ft, which Jaguar says is "one of the highest torque outputs in the class." Either way, both versions feature variable exhaust valve timing, cooled low-pressure exhaust gas recirculation and selective catalytic reduction technologies to help meet the stringent Euro 6 standards.
That's all well and fine, but considering that Jaguar doesn't offer diesels in North America, the chances of these oil-burners making their way Stateside seem slim. But if you watch the video below, you'll also find basic specs on their gasoline counterparts as well. Like the diesels, they're turbocharged and displace 2.0 liters, but in petrol form, they offer 197 hp and 206 lb-ft of torque, or 236 hp and 250 lb-ft.
