Brooklyn, New York, United States

Runs strong like a beast with the smoothness and luxury you expect from a Jag. Everything works like new as it's been maintained on schedule by Jaguar from day one. It's the base model with the "Executive Package": - British Racing Green with tan leather interior - Leather Everywhere - Real burl walnut everywhere - Excellent, cold A/C - Cruise control - Heated seats (front and back) - Eight directional automatic front seats - JVC Bluetooth stereo with 8 speaker system--streams bluetooth devices including music, maps, and calls - Traction control (handles well in snow) - Four-wheel Independent suspension - Straight 6, 4.0 liter engine... ...of which only 2,500 were produced--It's also a 1997, the last year for the X300 chassis. Meaning it is/will be a collector's item that will begin appreciating in the near future. - Classic story of previous owner: Older lady, only drove short distances around Long Island on weekends and during summer as the car was garaged out there October through May every year; it was their "Hampton's Car". She died and her husband moved the car to a garage in the city where it was barely driven for two years. I acquired it and replaced the tires and updated the suspension system as that was all it needed. When I had it checked out by Jaguar of Manhattan they said they had never seen such a well preserved Jag of its age in New York: no rust or salt damage on the undercarriage, no leaks, all hoses, belts etc are up to spec. Engine is clean and strong. Transmission is extremely smooth. All electronic systems function as designed. Outside of some wear on the driver's seat, the car is in mint condition. - I'm selling it because I don't really want/need a car but felt this was too good to pass up when it came across my path. I've enjoyed it, even taken it skiing, all over the 95 corridor, cross-country, but don't really have time to deal with car ownership in NYC. - Only 123,000 original miles, mostly highway. - Four brand new shocks as well as four brand new, high performance tires. - The body and interior are in good to excellent condition with minor wear here and there. - Kelly BB is $5,600. - Please look at CarFax to see maintenance record. All scheduled maintenance and service has been performed by Jaguar. **Will have it fully detailed prior to delivery** **Free Delivery to NYC Metro Area** Arrangements can be made for delivery outside of NYC Metro. Serious inquiries only. |

Land Rover planning SVX hardcore off-roaders
Sun, May 3 2015The new Special Vehicle Operations division at Jaguar Land Rover has already given us an array of ultimate wheeled creations, but it isn't quite done yet. Next, according to Car and Driver, will be a new line of SVX models. Not to be confused with the Subaru coupe from the 1990s (which also had all-wheel drive, come to think of it), Land Rover's SVX models will be hardcore off-roaders. Details are few and far between at the moment, but they're said to take inspiration from rough-terrain events like the Dakar Rally and Camel Trophy as inspiration – different from the Ford F-150 Raptor that takes its cues from the Baja 1000. Last we heard, Land Rover was planning a hardcore Defender to send the model off to pasture in high-performance style, and considering an extreme Range Rover as well. If either of those rumors materialize, they look like they'd be prime candidates for the SVX line. JLR Special Vehicle Operations has already showcased what it can do with the high-performance Range Rover Sport SVR, the luxed-up Range Rover SVAutobiography, the exclusive F-Type Project 7 and the continuation classic Lightweight E-Type. C/D confirms that further SVR models are in store to replace Jaguar's R-S performance models, while the SVX line would likely remain exclusive to Land Rover.
Lots of Land Rovers, Jaguars and Minis actually survived that near-capsized ship
Thu, Jan 29 2015Despite a severe list to starboard, many of the 1,400 cars and SUVs aboard the 51,000-ton Hoegh Osaka are currently being recovered in salvageable condition, with video showing some of the vehicles from British brands Land Rover, Jaguar and Mini, being driven ashore under their own power. The car-carrying vessel developed a severe list on January 3 and was intentionally run aground on a sandbar between England and the Isle of Wight. It has since limped its way back to port in Southampton, where damage assessments are being conducted on both the ship and its $53-million in cargo. According to the company that owns the car carrier, the ship itself only suffered minor damage in the incident, while Car and Driver is reporting that many of the damaged vehicles will almost certainly be scrapped. Still, the fact that there are vehicles, some of which appear undamaged (look at that Defender at 0:50!), being removed from the Hoegh Osaka needs to count as a net win. Cargo ship carrying 1,200 Jaguars and Land Rovers deliberately run aground [w/video]
Mon, Jan 5 2015A cargo ship carrying a load of new cars out of Southampton has run aground in the English Channel in between England and the Isle of Wight. The vessel apparently suffered some sort of failure just 45 minutes after leaving port that caused it to list heavily to the starboard side before the crew deliberately beached it on Bramble Bank to prevent the ship from capsizing altogether. The vessel, called the Hoegh Osaka, is a 590-foot car carrier weighing some 57,000 tons and registered in Singapore. Although several automakers (including Honda and Bentley) were reportedly looking into whether they had cars on board, the vessel is said to have been filled to approximately one-third its capacity, with 1,400 vehicles on board – including 1,200 Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles, 65 Mini models and one Rolls-Royce Wraith. 70 to 80 pieces of construction equipment were also said to be on board. The Hoegh Osaka was en route from the southern British port of Southampton to Bremerhaven, Germany. Fortunately, no major injuries have been reported. The crew was mostly airlifted by helicopter off of the beached ship, with two crew members evacuated by lifeboat. One crew member reportedly jumped over 25 feet off the ship into the water before being immediately retrieved by rescue workers. According to the Daily Mail, two crew members were treated for non-life-threatening injuries, including a broken leg. It may take several days, if not longer, to extract the vessel from the sand bank and ascertain the damage to the ship and its cargo. An early attempt to free the ship with tugboats failed, meaning that the Maritime and Coastguard Agency may have to wait until more favorable high tides to try again before towing the ship back into the port. Bramble Bank, where the vessel was run aground, is a well-known obstacle to maritime navigators. The Queen Elizabeth 2 ran aground there in November 2008 with 1,700 passengers on board, but was quickly freed by four tugboats and was able to continue on its way. Two local yacht clubs also play a cricket match there every year at low tide. The vessel's operator, Hoegh Autoliners, praised the skill and quick thinking of the crew in acting to prevent the ship's capsizing by running her aground on the soft, sandy shoal.
