Chris Harris finds the Jaguar F-Type R Coupe rather drifty

Our own Matt Davis may have called the new Jaguar F-Type R Coupe "one heady rascal," but our review was disappointingly short on drifting, tire smoke and general, English shenanigans. You know, the sort of things that Chris Harris from Drive excels at.
Actually, relative to Harris' other reviews, this one is rather serious. There's a good recap of the F-Type on the road, with Harris referencing the car's "great bottom" and "amazing ass," quite frequently. Surprisingly, Harris says the more powerful F-Type R is just "incrementally" faster than the 495-horsepower F-Type V8 S Convertible. Following the on-road portion, it's off to the track. You can probably predict what goes on there. Overall, aside from some quibbles, Harris has nothing but praise for the newest cat.

Jaguar's latest beast is the 2018 XJR575

Hot off the rear wheels of the insanely quick XE SV Project 8, Jaguar is back with another pumped-up sedan. It's called the XJR575, and although it isn't as extreme as the aforementioned XE, it still packs a version of the company's 5.0-liter supercharged V8 that makes 575 horsepower and 517 pound-feet of torque. According to Jaguar, that will get the full-size luxury sedan to 60 mph in 4.2 seconds on its way to a top speed of 186 mph. There isn't much on the outside to tell this hot-rodded kitty from the regular XJR. The front bumper, rear spoiler, hood vents, and side skirts are all the same as the lower-powered version. It does come standard with black wheels, but they can also be optioned on a normal XJR. There are only a couple of unique points. One of which is the addition of XJR575 badges. The other is the application of a model-specific paint color. Buyers of the XJR575 will have the option to coat their cats in the Satin Corris Gray seen above, or a hue called Velocity Blue. Inside, seats are upholstered in black leather with red stitching. They feature diamond-stitched panels, as well. In the seat backs, the number 575 is embroidered. The sill plates also feature the XJR575 logo. The infotainment gets an upgrade, too, in the form of a bigger 10-inch touchscreen. Jaguar hasn't announced pricing or availability of the XJR575 yet. However, we will likely know soon, as the company will be revealing some updates for the rest of the XJ line-up for the 2018 model year. Ecurie Ecosse collection brings in millions

It's rare to see an entire racing team's collection go up for auction at once, but that's just what happened this past weekend at Bonhams' new headquarters in London, where there Ecurrie Ecosse collection brought in top dollar (or pound, anyway).
The collection, whose consignment we first reported on back in September, included a smattering of Jaguars, other classic racers and an iconic transporter truck, all decked out in the same blue and white livery of the Scottish flag. After reportedly feverish bidding on Sunday, the 1952 Jaguar C-Type sold for £2,900,000 ($4.75m), the '56 short-nose D-Type for another £2,600,000 ($4.26m), and the transporter for a shocking £1,800,000 (nearly $3 million) - all to the same unnamed American collector. A 1952 Jaguar XK120 roadster went to another buyer for a record £707,000 ($1.16m).
With Ringo Star's Facel Vega selling for £337,500 ($550k) and Michael Schumacher's Benetton B194 fetching another £617,500 (just over a million), the auction total skyrocketed to £16,861,630 ($2.75m), which Bonhams described as "a roaring success". Scope out the press release below for more info.
