Offered for your bidding is a solid & eye catching vintage 1965 Jaguar S type saloon, which was lovingly restored & customized in 2008 by a Jaguar enthusiast rom whom I purchased this car. The elegant lines and detail of this automobile are enhanced by the classic color combination - the epitome of British automobile styling. Imagine yourself behind the wheel of this beauty on a sunny summer afternoon, or winding down a country lane on a colorful autumn morning ? When this car rolls down the street, expect heads to turn, and jaws to drop - its that good looking ! Please review all of my photos to appreciate the elegant detail of this very special automobile, and read my detailed descripton below: All the specifics about the mechanical aspects are information taken from the man who restored the car, and are related as such. This car was taken down to the bare metal and completely restored with several upscale customizations. The body is painted a classic British racing green (I have some extra paint for future touch-ups, if needed), with all original chrome trim. Wire wheels with chrome 'knock-off' hubs. Original chrome grille, leaper, and Jaguar grille medallion. The interior ceiling fabric, carpet, and vinyl door panels were all replaced in the restoration. Interior wood trim was also beautifully restored retaining original chrome details, and the restorer put in a nicely customized console around the stick shift. The car is equipped with buff color leather seats from a circa 1994 Jaguar XJ6 Vanden Plas. The front seats have electric power operation, and the rear seats have laquered burl wood fold-out cocktail tables, and center arm-rest. The dash retains all original switches and Smiths gages, set into a rich burl wood dashboard with a pull-out cocktail tray in the center. All gages work, except for speedometer (which is not connected). There are no seat belts (car pre-dates the regulation) but these can be added by the new owner, should they choose to. The engine was replaced with a powerful custom built engine comprised of the following: GM 350 8-cylinder block, new pistons with Corvette connecting rods, rings, and oil pump. Aluminum heads, approximately 10 to 1 compression, with high lift rockers on 3/8 studs, andHolley 650 cfm carburator. It features an Edelbrock intake, camshaft, and lifters with an upgraded 4 row core radiator with electirc temperature controlled cooling fan. Transmission is Tremec t-5 overdrive 5 speed, with cast iron bellhousing, heavy duty clutch, 11" pull type clutch slave cylinder. Rear gears 3.54 Professionally made and balanced driveshaft - with drive train bolted to original mounts with specially fabricated conversion mounts - so this car could easily be returned to a stock engine and transmission. Front brakes were upgraded to Volvo 240 4 pot calipers (per suggestion from jaglovers.com). The twin fuel pumps (remember, these cars have twin gas tanks - one on each side) are also new as of the 2008 restoration. The original odometer reads 69, 111 miles - based on the original Jag engine which was removed. As a car that was only occassionally driven in summer months since restoration, I can only estimate that the new engine has fewer than 5,000 miles on it. This vehicle just passed its annual New York State inspection the end of July. The ride in this car is smooth, due to the independent front & rear suspension which Jaguar pioneered and was famous for. The engine starts & runs extremely well, and it is a dependable car (thanks in part to the GM engine replacement, which accounts for reliablity and easy repairs). There is a very basic AM/FM stereo radio with casstte player in the dash. There is no A/C, and no power steering - however these can be added if you wish. There is ample room in the engine well and a space to mount the power steering pump, etc. if you wish to do this. As mentioned previously, the spedometer is not connected, nor is the parking brake (since its standard transmission, you leave it in gear when you park and its not going anywhere), nor are the fog lights mounted to the bumper - which for the moment are ornamental. The paint if in very good condition, glossy, with only a minor scratch or two. Chrome trim is all original and good condition, however the front & rear bumpers are quite spotted - but overall display well (they can easily be removed and re-chromed by the new owner, if you're particulary fastidious). The only body /cosmetic issue I should make you aware of is a small, approx 8 to10" area beginning to show deterioration on the underside rear side area (near back bumper) on drivers' side. Dealing with this now at your local body shop should be relatively inexpensive, and save it from advancing. I have described this car and provided photos to convey description to the best of my ability. This car is being sold "as-is" and as such, there are no warranties impiled or extended with this vehicle. Buyer is responsible for pre-bid inspection, and must make their own transport arrangements. I will assist in coordinating this as best I can. Buyer agrees to pay $1,000 deposit via PayPal at end of auction, with the balance due within 48 hours in the form of cash or certified funds, and will take possession and remove the vehicle within 7 days. Your bid is a binding contact, so please make sure you have read the description, terms, and agree to them before bidding as this is a final sale. |

Jaguar Heritage Driving Experience throws you the keys to the museum
Thu, 16 Oct 2014As automotive journalists, we get to drive a lot of really cool, high-performance vehicles. It really is the single best thing about this job. However, our access to vehicles is generally limited to the newest offerings on the market. That means, much like the general public, we don't really get access to vintage iron.
Jaguar is trying to rectify that issue for journalist and enthusiast alike, with a new program called the Heritage Driving Experience. It allows British enthusiasts to pop into the brand's Warwickshire testing site, drop anywhere from 100 to 300 pounds ($160 to $480) and go for a spin in some of the brand's most legendary offerings. That includes the more typical classics, like the Mark 2 saloon and the E-Type sports car, but you can also pay for access to stunners like the XK150, XKSS and the race-spec D-Type. In addition to the classics, most of the tests include time in their modern successors. So an hour with the Mark II can be split with time in an XFR-S, while the E-Type is complemented by its spiritual successor, the F-Type.
Most of the events are limited to 30 or 60-minute sessions, although the brand does offer a half-day and full-day event. The former, the Jaguar Le Mans Experience, includes time in the C-Type, D-Type, XKSS and F-Type R. The full-day Grace and Pace Pack, meanwhile, gives you access to nine vehicles, covering a huge gamut. That means time in the C-, D- and E-Type, XK150, Mark II, XKR-S GT and F-Type R, among others. Not surprisingly, prices aren't listed for the half- and full-day pack. Much like Jag's finest cars, if you have to ask, you probably can't afford them.
Jaguar redesigned the F-Type for 2021, and you can win one here

No donation or payment is necessary to enter or win this sweepstakes. See official rules on Omaze. Before it was redesigned for the 2021 model year, the Jaguar F-Type was one of the best-looking vehicles on the market. The same can be said for the updated version. What also hasn’t changed is the fact that, while it looks great, it sounds even better. Thanks to a supercharged V8 that makes 575 horsepower, the growl of the F-Type can be heard long before you see it coming. Oh, itÂ’ll turn heads. ItÂ’s also quite a bit of fun to drive too. And Omaze is giving one away. Win a 2021 Jaguar F-Type R Coupe - Enter at Omaze HereÂ’s what we thought of the F-Type when we first drove it last summer: “Being behind the wheel of the V8-powered F-Type R also remains an absolute hoot. You sit low in the cockpit, looking out over the long hood — we couldnÂ’t see the end of it without raising the seat up a smidge. The round steering wheel is large for a sports car, and while the leather is supple and grippy, it was tough to find a position where our hands were comfortable and our fingers could reach the clicky metal paddle shifters. Two seat types are available on F-Type models, but the more aggressive 'Performance' seats come standard on the R. TheyÂ’re plenty bolstered, but wide enough to not be restricting on longer journeys. “The supercharged V8 fires up with a loud snarl, but a new Quiet Start mode can tone it down by closing the valves in the exhaust at startup. Your next-door neighbors will appreciate this feature, as the F-Type R is one of the loudest vehicles with a factory exhaust weÂ’ve ever tested. The engine and exhaust dominate the experience of the car from start to finish. Volume levels range from extremely loud to how the hell is this legal? “Jaguar claims 60 mph comes in just 3.5 seconds, so acceleration within the speed limits is short-lived. This engineÂ’s nature, the way it makes power, is the most alluring part of the acceleration. You donÂ’t have to wait that split second for a couple turbos to spin up. The power is simply here, and thereÂ’s zero disconnect between your right foot and the Jag bounding forward. DonÂ’t shift before max horsepower comes on at 6,500 rpm, either, as the feeling of forward thrust just gets stronger the more you wind it out.
We should probably call this the Jaguar Fast Pace
Tue, Sep 20 2016Jaguar appears be working on a high-performance R variant of its slinky F-Pace crossover. But, it has done an excellent job of hiding that in these spy shots. There really are no visual indicators that this test car is anything special. The lights, grille openings, and even exhaust all appear to be standard-issue F-Pace. According to the spy photographer, what doesn't come across is the sound of the crossover, which he reports is quite loud, thus this strongly sounds like the F-Pace R. We expect at least 500 horsepower, and the ute could borrow the V8 from the F-Type R, or run a new, tuned-up version of the V6. We would lean toward the F-Type R V8. Since that engine has also been used in the performance version of the XF, which shares other powertrains with the F-Pace, it would likely be the easiest to drop into the crossover. We also aren't sure when this fast-paced F-Pace will come to market, but the wait probably won't be too long.
