Here for Auction is this exceptionally original Jaguar E-type S1 2+2 LHD Auto for RESTORATION

A genuine Californian Car, totally unmolested very solid as would be expected for a Southern Californian Car. This car has never been taken apart and no cheap restoration has been attempted. Therefore this Jaguar E-type would make an excellent restoration project.

Whilst the car was originally Opalescent Silver Grey it is evident from the pictures in the history file that it has been Black for many years. The Red interior is totally original and untouched and still has the original carpets.

The car is matching numbers and comes with a good history file with various receipts dating back to 1968. Judging from the history file and the originality of the car I am confident that the recorded mileage of 58,951is genuine, however this is not guaranteed.

The engine does turn but we have not had it running, therefore it does not come as a guaranteed runner.

We are E-type specialist who Buy, Sell, Service, Upgrade and restore Jaguar E-type's. We are based in Newbury Park, California, USA and In Hadlow, Kent, UK. Therefore the car can be easily shipped to the UK or Europe.

The car can be bought as is or it can be bought as a running car or even restored at extra cost.

Due to the cars age and condition I would urge anyone interested to please call me for more information and to arrange a viewing.

Please feel free to call me on 001 805 267 6795 for further information or to arrange a viewing.

The winning bidder will be required to pay ten percent deposit within two days and the balance within one week of the auction ending.

Good luck and happy bidding.

Chinese patent filing shows what could be next Royal Limo from Jaguar

Fri, 10 May 2013

Someone filed a patent application in China for the Jaguar XJ limousine seen above, but no one's sure who filed it or what the car is for. One camp thinks it's a State limo for UK royals like the Bentley State Limousine, another camp thinks it's the work of aftermarket coachbuilders.
One thing's for sure: Assuming it ever gets made, anyone who buys it wants an XJ in name only; the modifications have removed almost all of the grace of the standard sedan. Estimated to be more than three feet longer than an XJ, the stretched rear doors are backed by an even more stretched rear section that, in losing the trademark XJ C-pillar (the D-pillar on this car), adds all sorts of ungainliness to its backside. What's more, the roof rises from front to rear, we can only assume to make room for people with large hats. Or the NBA player that the Chinese call "Sweet Melon."
Head over to AutoSohu for more photos from the application, if you're sure that's what you really want.

Jaguar 3 Series-fighter to spawn coupe, wagon

Wed, 25 Sep 2013

With its sights set on the BMW 3 Series, Jaguar could be planning a full range of models for its upcoming entry-level car - possibly called the XS. We've already seen spy shots of the four-door version of this all-aluminum baby Jag, but according to Auto Express, the automaker will also offer the car in coupe and wagon variants.
The XS sedan should hit the market in 2015, and the coupe and wagon models are expected soon after that. Speaking with Jag's global brand director Adrian Hallmark, AE says that the XS will be focused on styling with a design similar to the recently introduced C-X17 crossover concept. Hallmark also said that the addition of the XS lineup could help Jaguar double its sales, which were at 357,773 global units in 2012. Head on over to Auto Express for some speculative renderings of the XS coupe and wagon.

Ford's J Mays feels vindicated by Fusion reception

Tue, 25 Sep 2012

It's hard to think back now, but the same man overseeing the design of the 2013 Ford Fusion also presided over a rather lackluster period in Ford design, highlighted by vehicles like the Five Hundred and Freestyle. With the redesigned Fusion receiving high praise, J Mays tells Automotive News that he feels vindicated from criticisms suggesting he's not a daring enough designer.
When Mays took over as lead of design in 1997, he admits to having quite an ego ("My head would barely fit through the door some days. I've long since gotten over myself") and the workload to match. With the Blue Oval's portfolio full of premium brands like Aston Martin, Jaguar, Land Rover and Volvo at that point, along with the bread-and-butter Ford, Lincoln and Mercury models, Mays certainly had quite the challenge.
It was in the mid-2000s that Mays took over just the premium brands, and took on the new title of Chief Creative Officer. At the time, Mays endured some criticism for looking backwards to retro styling, rather than setting a new standard for American car design - criticism that Mays says he is free from with the all-new Fusion.
