The decade of the 1970’s forced all auto manufacturers to adhere to stringent US Federal safety emissions legislation. Jaguar’s answer was the production of the V12 engine based on a 5.0 liter concept used in the XJ13 racing prototype. The all aluminum 5.3 liter engine with single overhead cams on each bank of cylinders was capable of launching the E-type to 100 mph in 15.5 seconds. Auto enthusiasts all over the world deem the Jaguar V-12 as “one of the world’s greatest engines.” A total of 15,287 Jaguars were produced in 1973. Only 7,297 2+2 coupes were produced, thus making this a very rare car. This 1973 Jaguar XKE 2+2 is in excellent condition. A California car, this XKE was in the same family of doctors until the third owner, also a doctor, purchased the car. It now resides with a serious collector in the South. Exterior is Indigo (Dark Blue) and the paint is in excellent condition. All chrome and trim still looks showroom new. The interior is a red leather bucket seat interior. No wear or tear, it is in new condition. Engine is the original V-12 5.3 liter with automatic transmission. Factory options are power steering, power brakes, AC, and Kelsey wire wheels with a full wire wheel spare tire. Jaguar Land Rover names ousted Renault boss as new CEO
Tue, Jul 28 2020LONDON — Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has picked ousted Renault boss Thierry Bollore as its next chief executive, with a mission to return Britain's biggest carmaker to profit after a big hit from the COVID-19 pandemic. Bollore took over at Renault in January 2019 after the fall of Carlos Ghosn, but was always viewed as close to the French carmaker's longtime boss and was pushed out in October when the company was looking for a fresh start. Bollore will take over at JLR on Sept. 10, replacing Ralf Speth, whose tenure ends after more than 10 years. "It will be my privilege to lead this fantastic company through what continues to be the most testing time of our generation," Bollore said in a statement on Tuesday. JLR was hit this year first by disruption to sales in China and then by lockdowns across Europe and North America as the COVID-19 outbreak spread around the globe. In 2019, it cut jobs to address tumbling diesel sales, which helped it return to profit. But as the pandemic struck, it slumped to a pretax loss of 422 million pounds ($545 million) for the year ended March 31, 2020. The company has already taken steps to tackle the crisis, including agreeing to a loan facility of around $700 million with lenders in China and further staff reductions. JLR is also in talks with the British government over potential support, according to media reports. Bollore takes over a business that built just over 500,000 cars in 2019/20. He faces a number of tasks, including how to handle the Jaguar brand, which underperforms the Land Rover marque, how quickly to electrify its lineup and a potential hit from Brexit if trade barriers are imposed. JLR has a partnership with BMW on electrification, and parent company Tata Motors recently recommitted to the company. "Tata Group recognizes and values Jaguar Land Rover's future potential highly," said JLR Chairman Natarajan Chandrasekaran earlier this month. "That is why this company is central to our global automotive presence – a presence that we intend to develop for years to come." Jaguar F-Type US order guide loose online

An alleged US order guide for the 2014 Jaguar F-Type has made its way online courtesy of the good people at F-TypeClub.com, documenting everything from wheel color options to special equipment packages. From the looks of things, buyers will be able to choose from a total of eight wheel designs in sizes ranging from 18 inches on the base model all the way up to 20 inches. While most of those rollers are available in either silver or black finishes, the 20-inch blade-style wheels are not only forged, but come with carbon-fiber trim. Fancy.
Depending on trim, F-Type buyers will get to choose between two types of seat, including a set of performance-style 14-way power adjustable thrones, complete with seat belts in black, red or tan. Other fun tricks include available power folding side view mirrors and a 770-watt, 14-speaker Meridian sound system.
Road & Track names its 2013 Performance Car of the Year

Additionally, the magazine staff picked the best automobiles of the year in eight categories.
