1972 Jaguar E-type on 2040-cars
Phoenix, Arizona, United States
I had new clutch installed , airconditioning work , alternator rebuilt, Radiator core rebuilt and upgraded for better cooling. The air conditioner
has lost its freon a couple years ago from sitting. I had the RPM gauge rebuilt but now it works occasionally, I
suspect a loose wire in the system. Everything else works, although
the work was done years ago there is only 6000 miles on these items. All receipts for the work I did are in the
folder along with the previous owners. Lots of documents , even have the sales brochure and original operating
manual. Engine number matches the vin.
The body of the car is excellent, other than a few nicks. The only thing I could find is a repair behind the rear
wheels I have a photo where
repair was made and its a very small area same on the opposite side but nothing shows up, I'm thinking its from the
rear wheels throwing rocks. I find no other areas on the car that had any work. At some point the car had a respray
there is no information in the
receipts, it had to be over 40 years ago that this was done. This car has always been garaged.
The seats show some cracking of the leather and are very comfortable.
The engine runs smooth and strong and burns clean, I recently replaced the tank radiator header where the radiator
cap is.
I also replaced the front brake lines and an electronic sensor cap on a brake reservoir, oil pressure is great. I
have never had any issues with this motor I did install a small purple light next to the gear shift so i could see
when the cooling fans were turning on and running. I Installed it next to the gear shift so i could see when the
cooling fans were running , this is noted in the pictures.

Weekly Recap: Things you might not know about the 2015 Dodge Charger and Challenger Hellcats
Sat, 16 Aug 2014If you're an enthusiast, and you don't know that Dodge spawned another Hellcat this week, you really must have been living in cave. The 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat is probably the biggest news for enthusiasts since the reveal of, well the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat.
But, there are some things you might not know or might have missed about the new Charger and Challenger Hellcats. For starters, reports that the Hellcat production would be limited to a low volume are not true.
"We have not capped the Hellcat on either the Challenger or the Charger," Dodge CEO Tim Kuniskis said.
This Jaguar E-Type is an even longer-legged feline
Tue, 12 Nov 2013Paul Branstad loves the shape and purity of the Series 1 Jaguar E-Type, produced from 1961 to 1968, but appreciates the longer length of the Series 3 V12 model, which affords occupants a more comfortable space in which to enjoy long trips. So when Branstad brought his damaged left-hand-drive 1968 roadster from its home in the US to Classic Motor Cars in the UK for a restoration, he had a special request: restore his car, but make it a bit longer.
"This is something that we have never done before. Our client wanted the interior leg room of a Series 3 V12 E-Type but the aesthetics of a Series 1 car," says Nick Goldthorp, managing director of CMC.
For the restoration, CMC added 4.5 inches of length to the floor pan of Branstad's E-Type to create the extra legroom. Goldthorp relates, "The V12 was actually nine inches longer than a Series 1 but a lot of the additional room was behind the seats as storage and was not required on our project." That's because CMC also built a trailer out of two E-Type rear ends that attaches to a custom-made removable tow hitch.
Audi and Jaguar Land Rover recalls address seatbelt issues
Tue, Aug 2 2022Audi and Jaguar Land Rover are each recalling several thousand vehicles for separate potential seatbelt issues. The recalls cover the 2022 Audi A3 and S3; 2022 Jaguar F-Type, F-Pace and XF; and the 2022-23 Land Rover Defender, Discovery, Discovery Sport, Range Rover Sport and Range Rover Velar. Examples of these vehicles may have shipped with seatbelt pretensioners that will not function properly in the event of an accident. Audi is recalling its sedans for tensioner devices that may not adequately restrain drivers or passengers during a crash. The issue was discovered during Korean market crash testing of the high-performance RS 3. "The seat belt tensioner in the affected vehicles serve the purpose of holding the passenger in his position in the seat," Audi said in its defect report to NHTSA. "In the event of a crash, the retention force of the seat belt may not reach the intended level. As a result, the position of the body can be further to the front of the seat, which leads to a negative influence on the whole restraint system, increasing the risk of injury." A different company, Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), meanwhile, also has an issue with a batch of pretensioners installed in its cars and SUVs. Pretensioners are the devices that fire off to rapidly retract the seatbelt when a crash is detected. Most utilize an explosive charge and pressure tube JLR says that some pretensioner devices provided by one of its suppliers may not have properly-specified pressure tubes that may not channel the gasses to the retraction mechanism correctly. "A damaged front seat belt pretensioner tube may have been installed on the seat belt retractor," JLR's report said. "This may result in a reduced level or complete loss of pre-tensioning in the event of a crash and increased occupant injury." Owners of the models included in both recall campaigns should receive notices from the manufacturers in the coming months. Related video: Recalls Audi Jaguar Land Rover Ownership Safety SUV Sedan
