1971 Jaguar Xke 2+2 V12 Original Survivor Found With Factory Air Conditioning on 2040-cars
San Antonio, Texas, United States
1971 JAGUAR E TYPE 2+2 ORIGINAL SURVIVOR There only original once! This Jaguar E Type has mostly been in storage for the past few decades. The car runs and drives and amazingly still has ice cold blowing air conditioning. The car still sports and original factory paint and it shows pretty well. I think a polish and wax job and you’re done. Personally, I would NOT repaint this car. How many survive with original paint? This car is also a matching numbers car. The motor matches and body. The V12 starts right up and runs smooth and sounds distinctive. The past owner a few years ago put new tires on the car and an aluminum five core radiator with electric fans to keep the car running cool. He said the carbs were balanced too. The car will come with the original radiator. This car not only sports original paint, but there is no rust through found anywhere. The original sheet metal is fabulous. The car was originally a California car, then New Mexico and only recently, Texas. The body is extremely nice. There was a small bump in the nose atop the grill and some minor body work was done at some point to fix it. The drivers side bonnet has two small dents up front. The Jag is leaking what I believe is power steering fluid. I also believe the valve covers are seeping oil onto the manifolds. At engine shut down, there is sometimes oil burn off coming from the bonnet louvers for a few minutes. The transmission is an automatic and seems to shift as it should. The car shows 58,xxx miles. The speedometer cable seems bad and I don’t know how long its been off line. By the looks of the brake pedal pad, I would guess the car has less the 100k on it. Some of the gauges work, some seem not actuate. The wipers work, and original radio works and sounds pretty good. The horn works and turn signals. The brakes are good and the emergency brake grabs tight. Inside the front leather bucket seats are dry and cracked up. I would re-upholster them. The dash has no cracks forward but one towards the glass. The car comes with some extra parts and four never used carburetor kits. It will also come with several books and manuals etc. One is a large original hard cover book from the 70’s. Likely worth a lot alone. Please call or write before bidding if you have any questions. Houston Wills at 210-548-1310 between 9am-7pm CST. The car is located in San Antonio Texas and comes with a clear New Mexico title. PAYMENT AND STORAGE

Stolen Jaguar E-Type reunited with owner after 46 years
Mon, 22 Sep 2014Barely six months into owning it, Ivan Schneider had his Jaguar E-Type stolen from outside of his Manhattan apartment in 1968. Now, 46 years later, the somewhat beat-up convertible has been recovered just before it was about to be shipped to a new owner in The Netherlands.
US Customs agents at the Port of Los Angeles found the car during a routine check, and they contacted Schneider to arrange returning it to him. When the feds found it, the E-Type was already in a shipping container ready to go to its new owner. The condition is hardly perfect today, including rough paint and a replacement door, but Schneider is ecstatic to get his classic back.
Understandably, the now 82-year-old never thought he would see his droptop Jaguar again. Schneider told the LA Times that he bought the E-Type for $5,000 after winning a case as a lawyer, and it was originally painted gray. Now, he plans to have to have the vintage convertible restored to its former glory in New York.
Ecurie Ecosse collection brings in millions
Wed, 04 Dec 2013It's rare to see an entire racing team's collection go up for auction at once, but that's just what happened this past weekend at Bonhams' new headquarters in London, where there Ecurrie Ecosse collection brought in top dollar (or pound, anyway).
The collection, whose consignment we first reported on back in September, included a smattering of Jaguars, other classic racers and an iconic transporter truck, all decked out in the same blue and white livery of the Scottish flag. After reportedly feverish bidding on Sunday, the 1952 Jaguar C-Type sold for £2,900,000 ($4.75m), the '56 short-nose D-Type for another £2,600,000 ($4.26m), and the transporter for a shocking £1,800,000 (nearly $3 million) - all to the same unnamed American collector. A 1952 Jaguar XK120 roadster went to another buyer for a record £707,000 ($1.16m).
With Ringo Star's Facel Vega selling for £337,500 ($550k) and Michael Schumacher's Benetton B194 fetching another £617,500 (just over a million), the auction total skyrocketed to £16,861,630 ($2.75m), which Bonhams described as "a roaring success". Scope out the press release below for more info.
Jaguar pushes F-Pace toward Frankfurt debut [w/video]
Thu, Jul 30 2015Automakers regularly subject new vehicles they're developing to extreme climactic conditions to make sure they'll hold up no matter what the customer throws at it. We rarely get to see what those conditions entail, save for the odd batch of spy shots here and there. Jaguar, however, has given us a glimpse behind the proverbial curtain as it puts the finishing touches on the upcoming new F-Pace crossover. The British automaker reports that it's put the F-Pace through its paces in temperatures ranging from as low as 40 degrees below zero (on either scale – that's where they meet) to 50 degrees Celsius above (122 Fahrenheit). Those are some punishing conditions, achieved in the dead of winter in Northern Sweden and at the height of summer in the searing deserts of Dubai, where cabin temperatures inside a vehicle left in the sun can top 158 degrees Fahrenheit. The former is where Jaguar Land Rover maintains a dedicated arctic test facility in Arjeplog, with over 37 miles of test tracks carved out of the ice, snow, and mountains. Jaguar even threw gravel mountain passes into the test regime for the first time, because while it may be geared more toward on-road use than its Land Rover counterparts, people still expect their crossover to be sure-footed in a variety of conditions. Jaguar has now confirmed that the production F-Pace will make its bit debut in September at the Frankfurt Motor Show. That's the same venue where the C-X17 concept that previewed the F-Pace's arrival was first showcased the last time the show came to town two years ago. And while the company recently signed a manufacturing contract with Magna Steyr to build an undisclosed model line in Austria, JLR confirms that the F-Pace will be built in the UK at the Solihull plant that already handles production of the Land Rover Discovery/LR4, Defender, Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, and Jaguar XE.
