hey there jaguar collector , here is a really nice xke that is from dry climate texas , that says a lot right there . This car is very nice and is a fantastic daily driver , show type car . The car was originally brg but it was repainted in carmen red many years back and they did the firewall and under the hood . the car has been upgraded with the tri carb set up and knock offs to give it the power and the series one look . the chrome is very nice and totally complete , the paint is very glossy but does have some spider webbing if you look very closely but again it is a beautiful car in every way , the seats are done in vinyl but they actually look very close to leather , the dash and interior are super nice but do show some aging again nice but not new. Here is the best part THIS CAR RUNS AND DRIVES LIKE NEW , the transmission , clutch , brakes, starter, etc etc etc are excellent , all the instruments work , the lights all seem to work, even the hand brake light and the choke light and the low fuel light etc . the chassis is rust free underneath and the bonnet is excellent . the air conditioning is complete but it does not blow cold and i havent tried to inspect it but everything is there and the compressor is not locked up , in short if you want a good xke investment that is also a driver this is the one , the series 2 coupe is the most dependable e type jaguar ever . and they can withstand the heat . I will accept 30,000 buy it now or as close as i can get i can help you to get it shipped about anywhere in the world any questions you can call me at 956 624 2669 my name is jay the odo only shows 54363 miles .

Junkyard Gem: 1995 Jaguar Vanden Plas
Fri, Dec 15 2017Sold in Europe as the Daimler Six, the 1995 Jaguar Vanden Plas had all the luxury bling that mid-1990s high-rollers needed. This one now resides in the imports section of a self-service wrecking yard near Denver, just like any ordinary Jetta or Lanos. The Vanden Plas name started out in Belgium in 1870, eventually ending up as a British Leyland brand via the Austin Motor Company. 2009 was the last year that luxo-Jags were slugged with the Vanden Plas name. Ford owned Jaguar by this time, of course, but the engine in the XJ6 series remained a traditional Jaguar straight-six. This one is a 4.0-liter rated at 245 horsepower. After 1997, the Jaguar sixes were gone from the XJs, replaced by V8s. The MSRP on this car was $62,200, which amounts to about $102,000 in inflation-adjusted 2017 dollars. It costs real money to keep a car like this running correctly, and once maintenance corners start getting cut... well, the end is near. You should feel fear when you see this. This car is battered and many parts have been yanked by junkyard shoppers, but try to imagine it when it had that new Jag smell. This content is hosted by a third party. Hot Rod Garage series premieres with 700-hp big-block Jaguar XJ
Fri, 23 May 2014Roadkill hosts Mike Finnegan and David Freiburger have broken up - kinda - to spin off a new show, Hot Rod Garage, that mostly gives up the driveway and parking lot wrench work for the confines of a garage. We say kinda because while Finnegan is the primary host for Hot Rod Garage, Freiburger plays guest host and the new show starts off by wrenching on the Roadkill Draguar project car.
What's the Draguar? It's a 1974 Jaguar XJ12 that's about to be force-fed a 383-cubic-inch Chevrolet long-block engine with tidbits like Holley carbs, a Weiand 6-71 roots blower and a "custom WillBlow transmission," all good for about 700 horsepower. After that Finnegan gets into swapping parts on his wife's El Camino and some TIG welding lessons.
You can check out the first episode below. And in case you're worried, no, Roadkill isn't going away.
First Ride: 2014 Jaguar F-Type [w/video]
Fri, 08 Feb 2013Shotgun In Coventry's First Sports Car In Decades
For every car, there is a passionate group of fans who love it, and the F-Type already has a few million rabid followers. These are fabulous things, sports cars, and we're very happy that Jaguar is making one again. Finally. (Before you start relishing the prospect of correcting us, the XK is really a grand tourer, not a sports car.)
The main question, however, will be whether someone in a position to buy a lifestyle-enhancing yet impractical F-Type will do so in the face of more established competitors from Porsche, Aston Martin, Mercedes-Benz, Audi and BMW. The last time Jaguar built a true two-seater sports car (1974 E-Type; the last of the XJ220 limited run in 1994 doesn't count in this league), most of today's new buyers were too young or may not yet have been born. At any rate, the F-Type has a lot of work to do for the brand beyond just selling itself.
