This is an awesome mostly original MATCHING NUMBERS, 1967 Jaguar XKE/E-type 2+2, 4-SPEED that is extremely desirable.  These are going through the roof at auctions recently.   More so that it is a great running, straight body, rust-free driver.  The only thing that it needs apologies for is the leather interior and the headliner.  These E-types are certainly getting rare, especially the Series I.  This had been privately owned for about 23 years.   Comes with a file of about $15,000 in receipts and restoration (most of restoration was done by previous owner).  Essential work was done at a qualified local antique Jaguar dealer.  The paint was done about 10 years ago and is in great shape.  I believe it is the original color.  All the essential upgrades have already been done.   Steel brake lines.  Upgraded cooling system that almost all of these have and need.  Original wheels, including the spare!   Most of the interior switches work (at least the essential ones:  wipers, interior lights, headlights, brake lights, reverse lights).  The tachometer works, but the speedometer/odometer does not.  Right turn signal does not work.  All glass is crystal clear.  Brakes work great and it stops very quickly.  Shifts smoothly without any grinding of gears.  Starts right up. Would not hesitate to take on road trip today.  Tires have great tread.   Does not have air-conditioning or a radio (would be an easy install).   The original heater is not installed, but it comes with the car as well as 2 boxes of spare parts.

I just had this to the Import car show in Carlisle, PA and it was the only Series I there and it was definitely a show stopper.  I couldn't get good pictures from underneath the car, but it is well sorted out with no rust (the body was beautifully restored).  This car would look even more fantastic with the chrome being sent out and polished up, which isn't a big deal.

Only reason I am selling it is that due to some family changes it would probably be sitting in the garage most of the time.   These need to be driven.

Overall, this is a great running very desirable 4-speed, matching numbers, straight body E-type that could be driven anywhere safely right now.  Besides a few odds and ends that need tidied up it has everything to drive safely and to enjoy today.   The interior leather is the biggest lacking thing on this car (kits are available online to replace it).  All of the expensive upgrades have been done.

Apparently, the value of these E-types is going up because Jaguar just released the new F-type.

$2,000 is due within 24 hours of end of auction and the rest of the balance is due within 7 days by cashiers check/bank check or cash.  I will work with buyer to ship the car as needed, I am flexible.  I reserve right to end auction early.

Please do not hesitate to ask questions.

There are probably things that I am leaving out and am sure as I post this add there will be things I forgot. I will update add as needed, but I believe I have described the car accurately and tried to take good pictures.

Thanks

Jaguar E-Pace has an F-Type-inspired interior

Fri, Jun 16 2017

Jaguar continues to test its new small crossover, tentatively dubbed E-Pace, and that means our spy photographers continue to capture it in the wild. This time, we got some photos of the interior. From what we can see, it follows in the footsteps of the the F-Type sports car, rather than Jaguar's sedans and larger F-Pace crossover. From the air vents down, the center stack gently slopes toward the shifter. It also has a large grab handle on the passenger side like that in the F-Type. This also makes the center stack feel more driver-centric. The shifter is also F-Type-inspired. While the Jaguar sedans and the F-Pace use a motorized dial that rises from the center console for shifting, the F-Type uses a conventional lever, as does this E-Pace. These interior design choices seem to indicate that Jaguar will market this E-Pace as being a sportier Jaguar than its existing lineup. Our spy photographer also caught this E-Pace prototype with the hatch up. This clearly shows that the E-Pace will have a radically raked rear window. Matched with the voluptuous rear fenders, the E-Pace should have a very aggressive look. As a side note, the open hatch also reveals that there are at least one or two members of the Jaguar team that like Budweiser. We still expect a reasonably long wait until the E-Pace makes its full debut, likely sometime next year at the earliest. We're also expecting the crossover to have a front-wheel-drive-based all-wheel-drive system like the Range Rover Evoque, and it may even use the Evoque platform. While not a bad platform or drive system, most any car enthusiast or journalist would agree that a rear-wheel drive platform would be more naturally sporty and in keeping with this car's interior and possible marketing. 2015 Jaguar F-Type Coupe is a seriously pretty kitty

Wed, 20 Nov 2013

The F-Type roadster is a beautiful car, but if we're honest, the coupe might be even more so. The hard top creates a smooth, uninterrupted line from the windshield all the way back to the rear of the car, the kinked-up rear-quarter windows are a nice touch and, overall, the design looks more organic than the roadster.
With the coupe's introduction also comes a new engine in the F-Type lineup, the 550-horsepower 5.0-liter supercharged V8 found in the XFR-S and XKR-S, and it's fitted to the top model, the F-Type R Coupe. The 495-hp mill in the V8 S roadster won't be an option in the coupe, however, but we're okay with that because Jaguar claims the 550-hp variant will scoot to 60 mph in just four seconds. Jaguar also will offer the base F-Type Coupe, with a 340-hp 3.0-liter supercharged V6, and the F-Type S Coupe, which has the same engine tuned to 380 hp. The base and mid-level models are quite quick, and can accelerate from 0-60 mph in 5.1 and 4.8 seconds, respectively.
The F-Type Coupe is priced starting from $65,000, the S Coupe adds $12,000 and the R Coupe starts at $99,000 (prices don't include $895 destination fee). For more F-Type Coupe info, check out our previous post on it, or head on below to read the press release.

2019 Jaguar I-Pace gets official 234-mile range rating

Tue, Oct 23 2018

The 2019 Jaguar I-Pace is officially rated to travel as far as 234 miles on a single charge of its battery pack. That's down slightly from the 240 miles initially promised when the slinky electric crossover was first unveiled here in the States. And, while it's roughly equal to the base version of the Tesla Model X, that's not exactly an apples-to-apples comparison. Quoting maximum electric range without considering the capacity of a car's battery pack is the same as quoting the maximum driving range of a gasoline-fueled vehicle without considering how many gallons of gas the tank holds. The I-Pace's battery pack is rated at 90kWh. The Model X's smallest pack is 75kWh. So the Tesla can go about the same total distance as the Jaguar using significantly less energy. It's not just Tesla that boasts greater efficiency figures than the Jaguar. Chevy manages to eke 238 miles out of the Bolt EV's 60kWh battery pack, and Hyundai gets 258 miles from the Kona Electric's 64kWh pack. These vehicles certainly don't all play in the same market segments, and there are a lot of variables to consider. For instance, the Jaguar's 4.5-second 0-60 rating is quicker than the Model X's 4.9-second rating, and its advertised power output of 394 horsepower and 512 pound-feet of torque is higher than Tesla's for the 75D (though Tesla's actual power numbers aren't really advertised in traditional hp and lb-ft figures). But even if cars like the Model X, Chevy Bolt, and Hyundai Kona EV aren't directly comparable across the board, their range and battery capacity figures do help us understand the relative efficiency of each specific vehicle. The efficiency of electric vehicles rated by the EPA is expressed as a MPGe (miles per gallon equivalent) figure. The 2019 Jaguar I-Pace's figures of 80 city, 72 highway, and 76 combined MPGe don't compare favorably with the Tesla Model X's 91 MPGe city, 95 MPGe highway and 93 MPGe combined ratings. It'll be interesting to see how much EV buyers care about the Jaguar's comparatively poor MPGe ratings, but they will definitely have an impact in the real world. In practical terms, what all of this means is that the Jaguar I-Pace is going to use more electricity per mile than the Tesla Model X. And that means it's going to cost more to drive the same distance in the Jag when compared to the Tesla, or just about any other modern long-range EV that's currently on the market.
