Offered for sale is a beautiful, mechanically fantastic, entirely honest and correct, numbers matching 1967 Jaguar E-Type Open Two Seater (OTS) finished in factory correct and wonderfully era-specific Primrose over Black leather. A solid and correct car to begin with, the previous owner undertook a costly restoration process in 2005 including paint, body, chrome, upholstery, undercarriage and mechanicals. Consequently, the car still presents beautifully, showing only the negligible wear accrued through the occasional fair weather weekend drive following its completion. Whether it will continue its service as a cherished weekend driver or as a worthy Jaguar Club of North America event participant, this gorgeous example needs nothing but a new doting owner to be enjoyed. The correct Primrose finish is fantastic: deep, lustrous, completely consistent and marred only by the most insignificant of imperfections, none of which are visible in the pictures. The body is entirely straight, free of dings or dents and retaining even and uniform gaps and panel fits throughout. The brightwork is in excellent shape, as is all of the glass and rubber, and the chrome knock-off wire wheels are wrapped in nearly new radial tires. The interior has been reupholstered in all the correct materials and presents as nicely as it did leaving the factory. The seats, carpets and interior panels are all virtually flawless and the soft top shows only the most minimal wear with a crystal clear rear window and an original boot cover. The car’s undercarriage is entirely restored, correct and free of rust and the engine compartment is detailed and gorgeous. Final model year E-Type Series I roadsters are among the most desirable Jaguars on the market, thanks in no small part to the venerable 4.2L engine. Firing up without hesitation, the engine idles consistently, pulls strongly and smoothly through each of the gearbox’s four gears with excellent compression across all cylinders. The cooling system works exceptionally well and the exhaust note from the dual stainless system is fantastic, allowing for grin-inducing performance in nearly any situation. The car drives and brakes straight and true, the suspension is tight and the car is a joy to drive, whether tooling through town, roaring through the canyons or bombing down the highway. With Series I E-Types selling at outlandish prices in recent auctions (as much as $425k domestically), this car represents an excellent opportunity to acquire an excellent, appreciating example that is exceptionally well restored, numbers matching, mechanically excellent, honest and correct. Latest Jaguar XJ snaps show old versus new
Wed, 19 Mar 2014It is a rare day when automakers line up their current models and test cars right next to each other and allow us to compare them directly. However, Jaguar ending up doing just that during cold weather testing of the face lifted XJ, providing the perfect chance to see just what the company is changing.
We spotted the refreshed XJ testing last year, and it hasn't evolved much since then. The updated model sports clear turn signals and a slightly revised front air dam. The modifications are similarly minor at the rear. The bumper appears to dip down slightly further on the new sedan. Thankfully, those gorgeous taillights are still draped over the back of the car. The exhaust outlets have switched to oval shapes rather than the current parallelograms. This alteration could just be chalked up to it being a test car, but the previous tester we saw had a similar design. It's possible that the camouflage could be hiding other revisions, but don't expect anything radical from the facelift.
Our previous report indicated that Jaguar is also planning some interior upgrades with new infotainment and ambient lighting. The company seems to feel that there isn't a point in messing with the XJ's design just yet, since all of the changes we see here are very subtle. No problems, here - to our eyes, the big Jag is still one of the prettier sedans on the road today.
Jaguar F-Type SVR and Range Rover Evoque Convertibles go rainbow for Pride
Sat, Jun 29 2019BMW isn't the only automobile company getting involved in Pride Week, as Jaguar Land Rover announced it also has cars that will participate. And yes, they're convertibles with rainbow stripes. On Sunday, June 30, Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) will participate in the NYC Pride March with several themed vehicles and employees walking next to them. JLR chose two of its most intriguing vehicles in the Jaguar F-Type SVR convertible and the Range Rover Evoque Convertible. Jaguar unveiled two different F-Type SVRs, one in a gorgeous blue and the other in white. Both cars have the same detailing, though, including rainbow stripes on the the sides, rear bumpers, and hoods. The F-Types also have rainbow stripes across the tops of their windshields, and "JAG YOU ARE" decals across the windshields and rear bumpers. The silver Evoque is only slightly different. It, too, has rainbow stripes across its doors, rear bumper, and windshield. Rather than a "JAG YOU ARE" decal, however, "EVOQUE" is spread across the front bumper in rainbow lettering. 2016 Jaguar F-Type prowls the floor with new manual and AWD options
Thu, Nov 20 2014The Jaguar F-Type has become an instant enthusiast favorite for its alluring design, powerful, sonorous engines and rewarding handling. In short, it's a worthy successor to the iconic mid-century E-Type. But Jaguar hasn't been sitting idly, and it's continuing to refine and enhance the F-Type with subtle yet significant enhancements, including a bunch that are debuting this week at the Los Angeles Auto Show. The 2016 model year brings with it all-wheel drive, which will be standard on 550-horsepower F-Type R models. AWD will be optional on mid-level F-Type S models, which run the 380-hp V6. The system sends all of the supercharged engine's torque to the rear axle in default mode, but it can also be split with up to 50 percent going to the front axle when needed. Jaguar has even added subtle visual differentiators to the the AWD models, fitting them with body-colored sills and a new hood design. The penalty? the AWD system adds about 176 pounds to the curb weight. The F-Type also gets an available six-speed manual transmission for 2016 on V6 variants with rear-wheel drive. While obviously adding a more interactive driving character, the close-ratio manual is about 22 pounds lighter than the automatic gearbox. Jaguar has also given all F-Type models electric power steering, using a stiffer steering shaft to maintain the hydraulic setup's connected feel with the road. The 2016 models will be available in the spring, and pricing will be announced closer to launch. 2016 F-TYPE Gains All Wheel Drive and Manual Transmission Options – The 2016 model year Jaguar F-TYPE sports car receives new powertrain and driveline options – A six-speed manual transmission option will be available in rear-wheel drive V6 models – Instinctive All Wheel Drive® (AWD) extends the performance and dynamic capability of the F-TYPE – The 550hp F-TYPE R is now available in both Coupe or Convertible – All F-Type R models receive AWD as standard equipment, enabling 0-60 mph in 3.9 seconds.
