1967 JAGUAR E-TYPE TWO-SEATER COUPE. 4.2 LITERS. SERIES ONE. 4-SPEED. CHROME WIRE WHEELS. ORIG PRIMROSE YELLOW WITH BLACK TRIM.

KURT TANNER RESTORATIONS offers for sale, here on Ebay, a complete 1967 Jaguar E-type 4.2 Liter Fixed Head Coupe for full restoration. This car is totally complete except for the bonnet headlamp chrome rings, glass covers, and motif bar (which are all easily available). The car is fitted with an earlier E-type 4.2 engine block and a later Series Two or replacement cylinder head. The body tag and chassis numbers match the original data plate. The car is a very good candidate for full restoration. Some rust repair is needed. The car appears to have left the factory finished in Primrose Yellow with black trim. It is a very original car, having never been taken apart.
The front floors have received new dipped floor sections. The previous owner removed the outer LH rocker panel or sill for replacement, and the inner structures and supports look very good. The RH side also needs to be replaced, but these items are fairly straightforward and typical for an E-type. The bonnet has sustained some damage on the right front. This can be repaired by a capable panel beater or replaced with another center section. The door skins could use a lower panel on both sides. There is some rust repairable rust in the tail section and trunk floor. The car's underside is reasonable with good trailing arm pickup and jacking points. The front subframes looks very straight and in decent order. A complete stripdown and blasting of the body would be in order for a restoration of great results.
Mechanically, the car appears very complete. There is an extra parts photo that includes items not pictured on the engine, but are present. The data plate is original and correct for the car. The current fitted engine has a blocked stamped with an earlier 4.2 number than the one that is listed on the data. The cylinder head has no number stamped, indicating it is a later or replacement unit. I haven't tried to turn the engine. I presume it is stuck, and would need a rebuild. All of the rest of the mechanical components appear correct for the car.
All trim items are present except those noted earlier. The gauges, seats, interior, chrome trim, steering wheel, etc. are all correct. All of the glass is present and is in reasonable shape.
Overall, this car is a good candidate for a ground-up restoration. It is very complete and correct. It is the highly desirable 4.2 Liter Triple-carb, enclosed headlamp, Series One model which is very much sought after at present. This coupe retains the spectacular lines of the earlier model with the conveniences of improved seats, a full syncromesh gearbox, the torquier 4.2 engine, better brakes and electrical system.  It is a great investment going forward.
This car is located in Southern California and can be viewed by appointment. It is sold with a clear title. $26,500.

2016 Jaguar F-Type debuts available manual transmission, AWD

Wed, 19 Nov 2014

If you're like us, you fell in the deepest, darkest sort of love with Jaguar's F-Type the moment its voluptuous form first surfaced. The car's full-bodied engine specs only furthered our ardor, and the droptop Jag sealed the deal before we even turned a wheel - all it took was hearing its engine bark to life.
And yet, even after driving the original convertible and the subsequent coupe, we've never quite shaken the notion that Jaguar erred a bit too heavily on the Grand Touring side of the equation for a proper sports car. That's partially because even the base model comes with a boatload of weight-adding luxury features. But perhaps more importantly, it's because the F-Type has only been available with an automatic transmission. Admittedly, the gearbox in question is a damned good paddle-shifted eight-speed ZF unit, but it's always chafed a bit that Jaguar wasn't committed to offering purists a manual - even if such a model would never be a high-volume proposition.
Apparently we weren't the only ones bothered by three-pedal omission. According to Russ Varney, F-Type Vehicle Program Director,

Jaguar F-Pace shows off its production pelt for first time

Fri, Feb 6 2015

We're no strangers to the Jaguar F-Pace, having spotted the production mules for the aristocratic English brand's first crossover on a few different occasions. Today, though, we get not only our first time look at the car in production sheetmetal, but also confirmation that the production model won't stray far from the sexy C-X17 Concept. Riding atop the same aluminum platform that underpins the already acclaimed XE sedan, the F-Pace follows the example set by the Range Rover Evoque, offering up almost a chopped-top look, particularly near the rear, where the plunging roofline and high beltline meet. That said, similarities to products from sister company Land Rover look to be mere coincidences, as the sheetmetal being shown appears all Jag. There's a prominent, snout-like grille that's flanked by a pair of predatory, LED-accented headlights. In back, the small rear window crowns a pair of thin, wraparound taillights. Think XE, with small influences from the F-Type for these units. As for what hides underneath those muscular body panels, our spies are predicting the standard allotment of Jag goodness. That means a gas-powered 2.0-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder and a 3.0-liter, supercharged V6, both borrowed from the XE/XF to start, before diesel and hybrid powertrains roll out. Naturally, all-wheel drive will be offered, although the F-Pace should also arrive sporting rear-wheel drive. And while we've got little to go on to believe it's happening, we're still hoping for an F-Pace R, complete with blown 5.0-liter V8. We suspect we'll be waiting on that one for awhile, though. You, though, don't have to wait to check out our spy snaps of the newest Jag in the litter. Check out our photos of the F-Pace, available up top.

This classic Jaguar XJ has a 720-hp ungentlemanly secret

Tue, 19 Nov 2013

Forget Tawny Kitaen. If you want to make a Jaguar XJ rock, just do what this guy did: stuff a heavily modified and turbocharged General Motors V8 under the hood, and take it to the track.
The video calls this Series 1 XJ a sleeper, but with its open exhaust and obvious turbo whistle, the once-gentlemanly sedan is anything but. The owner says that the engine is GM LQ9 V8 that has been stroked to 402 cubic inches putting out around 720 horsepower with 12 pounds of boost (in standard form, this 6.0-liter V8 was used in the second-gen Cadillac Escalade). Check out the video below to see what that kind of power does for this classic Jaguar in the eighth-mile.
