The Jaguar E Type is one of those few cars that can be described as "timeless". It is still as stunning a design as it was when it first appeared in the early 1960s. This 1966 roadster was purchased from the original owner in late 1966 by the current owner's father. The car underwent a total restoration in the late 1990s and has been driven less than 1400 miles since. However, it has been impeccably maintained and garage kept since. During the restoration, a small amount of rust was found in the driver's floor, so it was replaced.
The tires are excellent, the battery is new and the carburetors and fuel pump have recently been rebuilt with kits to allow for use with today's ethanol gasoline. The exhaust system is stainless as are the wire wheels. .Included with the car are the original tools shown, as well as the original owner's manual, shop manual and other dealer's paperwork shown in the photos.
The car is located near Birmingham, Al, and if you want to fly in to view or drive the car, we will arrange to pick you up at the airport, take you to see the car and then return you to the airport. Please look at the photos and video : ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uUAbrO0CKi0&feature=youtube_gdata ) carefully and ask any questions before bidding. Since the car is a 47 year old British sports car, it is sold as is, where is. The owner feels that he is not currently able to enjoy the car as much as he would like and believes that someone else might be able to give the car the attention it deserves.
Alabama did not issue titles prior to 1976, (http://www.alabama.gov/sliverheader/Welcome.do?url=http://ador.alabama.gov/motorvehicle/Title_FAQ.html) so the car will be sold with a bill of sale only. We can provide a certified letter from the state saying that no title exists for the car. We can arrange shipping, including delivery of the car to a port city for overseas sales.
The prices on these beautiful cars are trending upward again, so it is likely an excellent time to invest. Here is a link to Hagerty Insurance price guide to give you an overview of recent values: http://www.hagerty.com/valuationtools/HVT/VehicleSearch/Report?vc=862612

Never-was Jaguar C-X75 hybrid supercar driven by Autocar
Mon, 24 Jun 2013There's lucky, and then there's "I got to drive the Jaguar C-X75." The crew from Autocar is among the handful of souls who can honestly make the latter statement. Jaguar invited the publication down for a little time in both the passenger and driver seats around the automaker's proving grounds. While there's no end to the jealousy oozing from our pores, the good news is that there were a few cameras on hand to capture the experience. As you may recollect, the C-X75 Concept was a unique hybrid supercar concept built to duke it out with the likes of the Ferrari LaFerrari, Porsche 918 and the McLaren P1. The British automaker put it on track for production, but unfortunately stopped the project about six months ago.
With a twincharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine capable of revving to 10,000 rpm, the C-X75 concept yields 502 horsepower and gets partnered with four electric motors - one at each wheels. A 19kWh lithium-ion battery pack serves up 300kW of power, and combined, the motors and battery are capable of yielding an additional 194 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. Combined, the driveline is good for more than 850 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque. Said another way, the C-X75 will do the 0-60 miles per hour dance in under three seconds.
And Autocar got to drive it. You can watch the video for yourself by scrolling below.
Xcar weighs in on the five best-sounding modern cars
Fri, Jul 24 2015Getting behind the wheel of a well-balanced vehicle can be a wonderfully visceral experience, thanks to the combined feeling of things like the weight of the steering, the bite of the brakes, and, of course, the roar of the engine. Unfortunately, many of the sensations of driving require actually being in the driver's seat to understand them, but thankfully the intoxicating noise of a beautifully tuned internal combustion engine can be shared with everyone. In a new video, Xcar shares their opinion on the five best-sounding modern performance cars. The list is a symphony of horsepower. As opposed to keeping all of the vehicles brand new, Xcar actually picks a few that are recently off the market. They're all definitely champs, though. While the list itself is well stocked, you might be able to argue with the specific order, and it would be nice to hear a few participants from outside of Europe for a collection like this one, too. No matter. Every listener is sure to find something they like in the bunch, though. Turn up the volume and enjoy.
Jaguar models could rev with inline-six engines again
Tue, Apr 19 2016Rumors are swirling once again that Jaguar might return an inline-six engine to its lineup. Autocar claims Jaguar Land Rover will use the modular Ingenium engine family to create a 3.0-liter straight-six. The new motor will replace the automaker's current V6. As with the Ingenium 2.0-liter four-cylinder, JLR will likely offer the powerplant in gasoline- and diesel-fueled versions. A rumor in May 2015 also suggested JLR would create an Ingenium-based turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six and a 1.5-liter three-cylinder unit. According to Autocar, the engine bay in the XE, XF, and F-Pace can already fit the longer engine. The automaker isn't talking, though. "We can't comment on future product one way or another," company spokesperson Nathan Hoyt told Autoblog. Jaguar built much of its performance legacy with straight-six-powered vehicles. While the C-Type and D-Type were winning races with the engine layout, practically every Jaguar production model used them as well. Today, straight-sixes are less common. BMW continues to use them, and Mercedes-Benz reportedly also plans to offer one soon. While Autocar's report is still just a rumor, the move to an inline-six could be advantageous for JLR. For example, using an Ingenium-derived design could simplify manufacturing by allowing the company to build the powerplant in one factory alongside the 2.0-liter version. Returning to a design with such an important heritage for Jaguar would also make life easy for the brand's marketing team because it could link the new engine to past racing glory. Related Video:
