1962 Jaguar XKE. Drives and shifts beautifully. All system were rebuilt a few years ago and very few miles put on the car since. All numbers match. I had the car repainted with a 2 stage, base coat, clear coat finish. Vredestein radial tires. Starts easily. I upgraded the Lucas starter to a high torque starter and the Lucas generator to a small, high output, aircraft type alternator for reliability. The original units will come with the car. Also added was a nice sound system with a multi disc cd changer in the trunk and 2 speakers mounted behind the seats and two in the console below the center gauges, the rears being barely visible unless you go in search of them. Rust free car and was restored from a very solid car to begin the restoration.
I removed the front bumper with motif bar. I have it and it comes with the car. I simply prefer the look of the front nose this way, similar to the competition lightweight E Types of the early 60's. Very simple to put it back on.
I am selling the car to make room for a new project that is nearing completion and need the garage space. I still need to take a photo or two of the car with the top up. I have never had to put it up as I have never taken the car out on a bad day. Always kept in a dry garage.
All electrics work fine, and all systems function perfectly. Great brakes, all rebuilt when restored, along with the entire drivetrain and carbs. I had not started the car for a few months. Today I checked all fluids, pulled up the choke, turned on the key, hit the start button and the car started immediately. It always has. The triple ,2 inch carbs are all set perfectly and the car idles smoothly at 800 rpm with oil pressure at idle of some 60 lbs.
The floors are not the early flat floor style, but this is one of the first few cars that came with floor pans for more leg room. It is not the original style steering wheel. I changed it to this smaller wheel but have the Motolita wheel that came with the car when I bought it and it will come with the car.. I like this smaller steering wheel for ease of cornering and more leg room.
A beautiful car and a great investment.
I had a request for additional photos of the engine bay and underneath the car. I did not clean it up underneath as it is 100 degrees today, so forgive the bit of dirt and a couple of cob webs.

Jaguar to sell all-electric cars by 2030, and six electric Land Rovers coming in next five years
Mon, Feb 15 2021Jaguar is making a big transition to become an electric-only car company. The switchover is meant to kickoff in 2025, and by 2030, Jaguar says 100% of its vehicle sales will be of electric models. Land Rover is taking a similar route, but to a lesser extent. The British off-roading brand says that it will introduce six pure electric variants in the next five years, with eyes on 60% of its sales being of electric models by 2030. Its first all-electric model will arrive in 2024, JLR said. An Automotive News report cites CEO Thierry Bollore, saying he expects "almost zero" production of cars with internal combustion engines by 2039, making that the theoretical end date of Land Rover vehicles with ICEs. JLR, owned by India's Tata Motors, said on Monday the Jaguar brand will lead the way with a fully-electric model range built on a brand-new electric platform. The Land Rover EVs are to be built on a separate electric vehicle architecture to provide for "two clear unique personalities." The Land Rover EVs are said to be finding homes on both the Modular Longitudinal Architecture (MLA) and Electric Modular Architecture (EMA). Both support combustion engine layouts and full EV layouts, but the latter is said to be more biased toward EVs and to exclusively support "advanced electrified ICE." Both brands will be taking advantage of technology from within the Tata Group (JLR's owners) to make this transition happen. There's limited information on the future of certain models for the time being, but Jaguar did say that its previously-planned XJ replacement will no longer have a place in the brand's lineup. That said, Jaguar says the nameplate might stick around, with the assumption it could be used on an all-new future EV. Additionally, Automotive News reports that Jaguar will transition away from SUV-style vehicles, citing Bollore — the theory being that Land Rover takes over and completely fills that space in the future. We'll be wondering about what will become of the F-Pace and E-Pace. Our biggest Jaguar question concerns the F-Type, though. Will we get a fully electric version of the sports car in the future? Jaguar didn't address it, but we certainly hope so. JLR said that as it electrifies its model range, it will keep all three of its British plants open. But Bollore, who took over as chief executive in September, said the carmaker's Castle Bromwich plant in central England would focus on "non-production" activities in the long term.

Lister reveals first continuation Knobbly roadster at Autosport
Wed, Jan 14 2015It's been over a year since we reported on a plan to revive Lister Cars, and now the storied British racing constructor has revealed the first production continuation example of its legendary Knobbly roadster. Built to the same specifications as the original from 1958, using the same drawings and equipment, the reborn Knobbly features aluminum bodywork and a race-prepped 3.8-liter straight six out of a Jaguar D-Type and producing 330 horsepower. Revealed at the Autosport International race car show in Birmingham, the new Knobbly arrives on Lister's 60th anniversary and less than a month after the passing of its founder, Brian Lister. Only ten examples like this one will be built, all of which have already been spoken for, prompting Lister to consider an additional three examples. Each is eligible under FIA regulations to compete in vintage racing events, with performance specs quoting a 4.3-second 0-60 time and a top speed of 181 miles per hour. Celebrating Lister's 60th anniversary, the reborn 'Knobbly' is built to the very same specification as the original 1958 'Knobbly', using the late Brian Lister's original drawings and manufacturing jigs. It is powered by a race-prepared Jaguar D-Type 3.8-litre straight-six, producing 330bhp. All 'Knobbly' models are built at Lister Cars' Cambridge factory to meet relevant FIA racing regulations, with owners able to compete in a series of Lister historic race meetings planned during 2015. Despite following an original design laid out more than 55 years ago, the reborn 'Knobbly' has performance to match modern sports cars; it can accelerate from 0-60mph in 4.3 seconds and hit a top speed of 181mph. Lister Cars has already received an overwhelming response to its limited run and the 10 cars are now sold out.
