I am pleased to offer this 2001 Isuzu Rodeo LS Automatic that has sustained light tail end damage. This vehicle was purchased directly from an insurance auction for resale in the condition you see it in the pictures. In the state of Texas and only in the state of Texas this car has a rebuilt/salvage title but I do have a clean Colorado title (no-liens) in hand and ready to transfer to the new owner. The rear door suffers a medium sized dent and the bumper will need to be replaced but there is no damage to the chassis, it is fully intact. The front of the car shows very light damage but the frame is straight and front cooling components (radiator, condenser, fans etc.) are OK, I did not notice any leaks. The rest of the body has obvious scratches and cracking as seen in the photos. Good news is that the car starts, engine runs great, goes into gear and I was able to drive it home 30 miles from the auction. No observed damage to the engine or transmission. Interior is very clean and as seen in the photos, all airbags are good!

The Check Engine light has been on since I purchased the vehicle and the first thing I did was read the codes at the auction and a few codes came up that were all air-related. I then cleared those codes, drove it 30 miles home and re-read the codes. This time, the only code that came up was P0401 for a faulty EGR valve, which can cheaply and easily be replaced.  The stereo turns on but for some reason there is no noise. I connected my iPod to the aux connection and at first I still couldn’t hear anything but after moving the stereo around and messing around with the settings, I could hear the music fine. Please message me if you need more pictures or have any questions.

Buyer is responsible for the pickup or shipping of this vehicle. If you wish to have it shipped using a service, I will gladly cooperate, I recommend using Uship for the lowest rates.

Winning bidder must contact me within 24 hours of auction end, and make arrangements for payment at that time. Per eBay policy, a $500.00 deposit is due within 48 hours of end of auction and the remainder is due within 5 days of auction end. I will accept PayPal, cash in person, or business check as forms of payment.

This vehicle is being sold as is, where is with no warranty of any kind.

Thank you and happy bidding!!!

Junkyard Gem: 1990 Geo Storm

Sun, Jun 25 2023

General Motors began selling rebadged Isuzus in the United States all the way back in 1972, when the Isuzu Faster pickup showed up here as the Chevrolet LUV. A few years after Isuzu began selling vehicles in North America under its own branding, The General began selling Isuzu I-Marks as Chevrolet Spectrums; when the time came to create the Geo division to sell badge-engineered Suzukis, Toyotas and Isuzus here, the Chevy Spectrum became a Geo and a sport compact based on the Isuzu Piazza appeared in Geo dealerships as the Storm. Today's Junkyard Gem is a first-model-year example of the Storm, found with lots of miles and plenty of rust in a Denver-area car graveyard recently. Isuzu began selling this car as the second-generation Impulse for the 1991 model year. Few American car shoppers were interested in that car, but the Storm sold well. For the 1991 model year, a "Wagonback" version of the Storm was added to the lineup. The Storm was discontinued after 1993, and Geo itself got the axe in 1997. The 130-horsepower GSi version of the Storm was one of the best quickness-per-dollar deals of its era, but this car is the base Storm with just 95 SOHC horses under its hood. An automatic transmission was available, but this car has the standard five-speed manual. How much did it cost new? The list price was $10,390, or about $24,741 in 2023 dollars.  This one got well past 200,000 miles during its career. The rust is nasty. This car might have been a runner at the end, but corrosion plus high miles, manual transmission and defunct brand all conspired to send it to this place. This content is hosted by a third party. 2017 Tokyo Motor Show | Mega Gallery

Wed, Oct 25 2017

The 2017 Tokyo Motor Show has been a big and busy one. It's also had machinery ranging from beautiful to bizarre. But there's been something for everyone. Companies such as Honda and Subaru brought performance oriented vehicles, Toyota showcased a wide array of funky and practical concepts, and Yamaha even broke away from motorcycles to do another car concept. You can check all of these vehicles out, and more in the galleries below. 2018 Honda Gold Wing: View 5 Photos Honda Neo Sports Cafe Concept: View 5 Photos Honda Riding Assist-e Concept: View 7 Photos Honda Sports EV Concept: View 5 Photos Honda Super Cub: View 3 Photos Isuzu FD-SI and Elf EV: View 9 Photos Lexus LS+ Concept: View 18 Photos Mazda Kai Concept: View 18 Photos Mazda Vision Coupe Concept: View 15 Photos Mitsubishi e-Evolution Concept: View 8 Photos Nissan IMx Concept: View 29 Photos Nissan Leaf Nismo Concept: View 8 Photos Subaru Viziv Performance Concept: View 12 Photos Toyota Century and Crown: View 7 Photos Toyota Concept-i Series: View 16 Photos Toyota GR HV SPORTS Concept: View 6 Photos Toyota Tj Cruiser: View 12 Photos Yamaha Concepts (Cross Hub, MOTOROiD, MWC-4, Motobot): View 5 Photos Related Video: Tokyo Motor Show Honda Isuzu Lexus Mazda Mitsubishi Nissan Subaru Toyota

Junkyard Gem: 1997 Acura SLX

Tue, Nov 27 2018

When I'm prowling wrecking yards, I'm always on the lookout for obscure examples of badge engineering, and the weirder they are, the better I like them. While I haven't managed to spot a junked Suzuki Equator yet, I have photographed such rarities as the Saab 9-2x and Isuzu Ascender. A few weeks ago, I encountered one of the real oddities of the Honda-Isuzu dealmaking of the 1990s: a 1997 Acura SLX, a luxed-up Isuzu Trooper that sold very poorly and is now mostly forgotten today. Plenty of Acura SUVs designed and built entirely by Honda roll out of American showrooms today, but the 1990s SUV boom caught Honda by surprise. The first MDX wasn't ready until the 2001 model year, so Honda made a deal to take Isuzu Troopers, apply wood and leather inside and Acura badges outside, and cash in on North Americans' increasing disdain for minivans, sedans, and station wagons. Americans were very familiar with the Trooper, which was sold here from the middle 1980s until the 2002 model year, when the Chevrolet Trailblazer-based Ascender went on sale. The Isuzu name stuck around on these shores until 2008. The SLX was a decent enough truck, but there was no disguising its proletariat Trooper roots from status-conscious SUV shoppers who wanted to look more oligarchic while conquering a half-inch of snow in the mall parking lot. It didn't help that the 1997 Trooper L listed at $27,800 and the SLX Premium cost $38,300 (that's about $44,200 and $60,900 in inflation-adjusted 2018 bucks). SLX sales started off weak and plummeted after that. After 1999, the SLX was done. I spent years trying to find one in California and Colorado wrecking yards, but the few that were sold seemed to be sturdy enough to stay alive for a couple of decades. Finally, this high-mile '97 appeared in a Denver yard. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings.
