Lee's Summit, Missouri, United States
Item For Sale: 1999 Isuzu Amigo 2 door SUV with 4-wheel drive and removable soft top! These Amigos are rare and hard to find, especially in good running condition.
Options and Accessories: Fuel Injected V6, 5 Speed manual transmission, power steering, brakes, mirrors, locks and windows, pop-up sunroof, soft top, alloy wheels, AM-FM cassette and CD stereo, air conditioning, factory tachometer, push button 4X4 with high-low range floor lever, rear spare tire carrier, taillight guards, rear step bumper, Jet black with gray interior, front bucket seats, rear bench seat, deluxe cloth, etc...COOL LITTLE SUV! Interior Condition: Minor wear/ stains typical of age and use but all in all great condition. Clean, comfortable seats. Prior owner was a smoker, but no noticeable major stains or burns. Body Condition: Excellent, solid, straight and clean original body. Has minor blistering at bottom of rear rocker panels just in front of rear tires but no hols and is just starting to bubble. One spot on the rear door where the metal has been slightly pushed out. On the front driver side, the quarter panel is pushed slightly in on the front edge (see picture). Other than that, the body is very nice and has straight doors, quarters, fenders, , bumpers, etc. Paint Condition: Nice, decent, still pretty shiny overall and appears to be original. Minor scratch or chip here or there but really looks great overall and is very nice. Tire Condition: Almost new, with still about 85% tread on them. Everything is balanced, and tires have been rotated at regular intervals. No shakes or wobbles here! Running/Driving Condition: Starts excellent and runs great. Revs up strong with no hesitations. Transmission shifts through all gears very smoothly, and clutch grabs well. 4X4 engages as it should, and works great. When I first bought the Amigo, I only drove it 140 miles before the original motor threw a rod. I replaced the motor with one from an Isuzu Trooper that had 95K at the time. When the engine was installed, I had my mechanic check the clutch and put a new timing belt on as well. This is one of the best starting engines I've ever seen, and will be a great runner for years to come. Also included with sale is the original engine, to be used at your discretion. Also this model Amigo does not have cruise control, but I have almost all of the parts to get that installed, and shouldn't be a problem, these are all included with sale. Since I've had it, I have installed a good running engine, new Rain X Latitude wipers, 4 new shocks all around, and timing belt. As with all Isuzus with the 3.2 motor, this one does burn oil; about a quart every 800 miles or so. It's easy to stay on top of though, just a quick check when you fill up with gas. Overall, this is an excellent little SUV for going around in style in the Summer with the top down. It gets good mileage (17-19) and is pretty peppy too with plenty of passing power. A hard top and hitch can be added too, parts are readily available. Don't hesitate to contact me with any questions, or to come take a test drive before you buy. You won't be disappointed! |

GM, Isuzu shacking up on global midsize pickup development
Sat, Oct 4 2014General Motors and Isuzu might not be financial partners anymore, but it would seem that all those years working together still leaves a strong bond between them to work on new vehicles. Their latest collaboration is co-developing a next-generation midsize pickup to launch at a still-unannounced point in the future. Potential buyers of the upcoming Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon have no reason to fear their purchase becoming obsolete, though, because there are no plans to sell these jointly created models in North America. As part of the deal, GM and Isuzu have already agreed to share components across the trucks and purchase the parts together to get a better deal, according to Reuters. However, the actual manufacturing was agreed to be kept separate. The first inklings of this deal cropped up a year ago when the two automakers signed a memorandum of understanding to co-develop a new pickup. The future GM and Isuzu models are joining the mini-boom of midsize trucks that is about to hit around the world. Nissan already announced its latest Navara, and Toyota was spotted testing replacements for both the Hilux and Tacoma. Plus, Honda has hinted at a new Ridgeline sometime fairly soon in the US. Florida man found dead inside SUV covered in parking tickets
Wed, Dec 7 2016A woman in Fort Lauderdale, FL, got a nasty shock last month when she discovered a corpse sitting at the wheel of a heavily ticketed SUV parked near the Broward County Courthouse. According to the Sun Sentinel, Carolyn White was walking down a street in Fort Lauderdale when she spotted something strange. An Isuzu Axiom with deeply tinted windows was parked at the curb festooned with parking tickets. Curious to find out how someone could get that many parking tickets, she went to investigate. "I was being nosy," she told the Sentinel. "I never let the meter man catch me. I never got a parking ticket and I wanted to know why somebody else got caught. And that's what made me look inside." When she approached the vehicle, she discovered more than just a pile of tickets under the wipers. An elderly man was sitting in the driver's seat, slumped face down over the center console between the seats, clutching a credit card in a still hand. "Oh my God, please tell me this man is not dead," was White's first thought, she told the paper. Unfortunately, he was. The Broward County Medical Examiner stated the man in the SUV, Jacob Morpeau of Miami, had been dead for quite some time when White discovered him. Records show that the Isuzu was ticketed in that space numerous times between November 12 and November 15, including twice in the space of three minutes the morning Morpeau's body was discovered. "I can understand why the meter person probably didn't see him from the driver's side," said White. "He was underneath the steering wheel, his head was in the middle of the seat, between the two seats. But you could see him on the passenger's side. That's how I seen him, from the sidewalk." Fort Lauderdale city officials declined to comment on the incident, but an email from the City Clerk's office stated that the $160 dollars racked up while Morpeau sat dead at the wheel of his SUV would be dismissed due to "extenuating circumstances". GM recalling 316k vehicles due to headlamp faults
Mon, Dec 1 2014General Motors has announced a recall covering 316,357 vehicles globally, due to the possibility of sporadic or permanent failure of the low-beam headlamps. 273,182 of these vehicles are in the United States, while the remaining affected units are in Canada, Mexico, and elsewhere. This recall includes the 2006-09 Buick LaCrosse (pictured above), 2006-07 Chevy TrailBlazer and TrailBlazer EXT, 2006-07 GMC Envoy and 2006 GMC Envoy XL, 2006-07 Buick Rainier, 2006-08 Saab 9-7X, and 2006-08 Isuzu Ascender.
