Staten Island, New York, United States

You are looking at my friends 89 Isuzu pickup. I am posting this for him and I will be responding to questions, so ask, read the whole listing, and look at all the pictures and consider the truck carefully BEFORE you place a bid.

That being said, this is a good truck and should be a nice ride for the winning bidder. It has over 73,000 miles on the odometer, I don't know if it has been turned over, but to me, it looks clean enough to be the exact mileage. The truck has the larger 4cyl engine, and it is the fuel injection option , so it is not only good on gas for a truck, it is reliable. it starts right up as it should, and we drove it back to Staten Island from the owners vacation house in up state NY (3 hrs) , without a problem. The 4 wheel drive works as it should and the transmission shifts smooth with good clutch engagement. it also came with 4 wheel disc brakes witch don't seem to be worn and don't squeak, so its easy to maintain, The tires and rims look real nice and the tread will last quite awhile as they have decent tread left in them. Even the older alarm system works. It has a nice tube style push bumper in front with off road lights that also work well. The only option that it doesn't have that I whish it did was A/C. but then again if it did , it would not be for sale. The owner has health problems and cannot drive stick shift any more, and for someone that just needs a winter 4wheel drive truck so they don't have to use there car in the snow, this would be perfect. It has been well maintained through the years and I thinkit may have had some scratches re painted in the past on the sides of the bed, because the paint is really shiny and looks almost too good to be original, but we looked under the wheel openings and could find no evidence of dent repair or bondo. Over all the trucks body looks really nice and clean for an older truck . The radio is not original but works perfectly and the heat works great. Over all this is a real nice older truck with some great options and should be a lot of fun.

now on to the legal stuff..

There is no guarantee or warrantee expressed or implied, so please ask a lot of questions and consider, that it is and older vehicle, so it may require repairs as it is driven more. also we will not ship this truck , we will work with your shipper as far as loading it up on a trailer or making sure we agree on a time to be home when you arrive to take it, but It is YOUR responsibility to pick it up, It should drive home no problem, but SHOULD drive home  is no guarantee, so I would make arrangements on the safe side till you can make sure. It is also being advertised locally, so I reserve the right to end the auction before it is over, if I get a better offer locally. You can make arrangements to come look at it in Staten island NY before you bid and I recommend you do that, I would never buy a car or truck till I saw it with my own eyes , totally up to you, but if you win the bid , and come to get the truck, don't expect to change the deal afterwards. you will be responsible for the purchase.

If you need special arrangements made as far as pick up date, or payment times, or something else contact me BEFORE the auctions end. I will not negotiate after the auctions over.

The truck needs to be picked up 2 weeks after auctions end, unless we make special arrangements,  or it will be relisted , YOUR DEPOSIT WILL NOT BE REFUNDED

A NON NEGOTIBLE 400 DOLLAR DEPOSIT IS DUE 3 DAYS AFTER THE AUCTIONS END. I recommend paypall for this, the rest can be paid on arrival of transfer of ownership, I accept cash ,money order, paypall. I will accept a check BUT I WILL NOT RELEASE THE TRUCK TILL ALL THE CHECKS, OR MONEY ORDER PAYMENTS ARE CLEAR IN MY BANK ! PERIOD ! you simply will not get the title till the truck is fully paid

Thank you and god bless

Isuzu truck concepts include honeycombed ‘toaster on wheels’

Wed, Oct 25 2017

Isuzu took to its hometown auto show to highlight its work in developing next-generation transport trucks, showing eight vehicles and four powertrain systems at the 45th Tokyo Motor Show. The most notable of the bunch are a pair of concepts: the FD-SI, a light-duty delivery truck designed around principles found in the insect kingdom, and the Elf EV, an all-electric version of its light-duty workhorse featuring a large-capacity battery with rapid-charging capability. From a design perspective, the FD-SI will get all the attention — much of it probably of the bemused sort. In truth, it looks like a futuristic toaster on wheels, a rolling box structure fitted with honeycomb patterns on the side panels and a glass cab windshield that seems borrowed from a heavy-duty construction crane. It turns out the honeycomb motif is no mere design whim; Isuzu says its designers focused on the "group intelligence" of insects and tried to apply that principle to the delivery vehicle. So the honeycomb exterior is replicated in the cargo space as hexagonal tube-shaped boxes, which the automaker says is a good compromise between strength and storage space. Inside the cab, the driver controls and seat have all been centralized, with the steering wheel retractable, to encourage smoother operability and more comfortable living space for the driver. "We want to support the drivers, the front-line people of "Transport," with unconventional ideas," Isuzu says. The Elf EV, on the other hand, is a zero-emissions, low-vibration delivery truck powered by a lithium-ion battery that'll take the vehicle at least 100 km, or 62 miles, on a single normal or fast-charge. It sports a 4x2, rear-wheel drive transmission with independent suspension in the front and leaf suspension in the rear. Here's a quick list of Isuzu's other Tokyo offerings: A 6x6 all-wheel-drive truck, featuring single wheels on all axles, built for rough terrain such as areas hit by major natural disasters. 80th anniversary editions of the Giga heavy-duty truck, geared with a remote monitoring system to transmit vehicle data for remote analysis to ensure safe driving; the Forward medium-duty truck, which boasts 10 percent higher fuel economy than its 2015 version; and the internal-combustion version of the Elf light-duty truck, which is sold in the U.S. as the N-Series.

Junkyard Gem: 1992 Geo Storm

Mon, May 15 2017

GM's Geo brand existed from the 1989 through 1997 model years. While mostly remembered today for the Suzuki Cultus-based Metro (which continued to be sold with Chevrolet badging until 2001), there were also Geo Prizms (California-built Toyota Corollas), Geo Spectrums (Isuzu I-Mark), Geo Trackers (Suzuki Sidekick), and Geo Storms (Isuzu Impulse). Storms are very rare now, but I found this one in Colorado last week. The idea of the Geo brand was that it would lure young car buyers in a way that wouldn't be possible with stodgy brands such as Oldsmobile or Buick. While GM never sold as many Geos as hoped, enough hit American roads that they were pretty numerous for a while. 1980s-style pink-and-blue graphics remained relevant into the early 1990s. I'm not sure if these pink decal stripes were done at the factory, at a dealership, or later on in someone's back yard. The Storm GSi was the factory-hot-rod version, but this is an ordinary Storm with the 95-horsepower, 12-valve engine. Automatic transmission, of course. It never made it to 100,000 miles. The car seems to be in good shape, so perhaps something broke at about age 10 and it sat in a garage for the next 15 years. This content is hosted by a third party. Junkyard Gem: 1996 Isuzu Trooper

Fri, Sep 9 2022

Though Americans had been buying the Isuzu-built Chevrolet LUV pickup since the 1972 model year (plus plenty of Isuzu-derived Chevettes and Chevette components later on), the first widely available Isuzu-badged vehicle available here was the LUV-sibling P'Up. That was the 1981 model year, and the I-Mark (Gemini) and Impulse (Piazza) soon followed. Later in the 1980s, GM (which owned a hefty chunk of Isuzu by that time) began selling Isuzu-built Spectrums and Storms with Chevrolet and/or Geo badges… but Isuzu started its United States business by selling trucks, and that's the only type of Isuzu you could buy new here when the company departed our shores in 2009. The Trooper SUV first went on sale here for the 1984 model year, and eventually the Trooper became the biggest-selling Isuzu in North America. Here's an example from the sales heyday of the middle 1990s, found in a Colorado self-service yard. In its homeland, this truck was known as the Bighorn. Elsewhere around the globe, however, it went by far too many names to list here (though Trooper was the most common). Highlights include the Holden Jackaroo and Caribe 442. Honda's desperation to cash in on the 1990s North American SUV craze led to the creation of an Acura-badged Trooper, known as the SLX and sold here from the 1996 through 1999 model years. As part of this arrangement between Isuzu, GM, and Honda, the Isuzu Rodeo became the Honda Passport here (confusing every North American who had ever bought a Passport-badged Honda Super Cub, which got that name so as not to run afoul of the builders of the Piper Super Cub aircraft) and Isuzu dealers sold Honda Odysseys with Oasis badges. Once we'd gotten a few years into our current century, the only Isuzu-badged vehicles you could buy new here (not counting commercial trucks) weren't even built by Isuzu at that point. One was the Ascender (a badge-engineered Chevy Trailblazer) and the other was the i-Series pickup (a badge-engineered Chevy Colorado). Oh, sure, a handful of Axioms and Rodeos slunk out of American Isuzu showrooms in the early years of the 2000s, but the clock really started ticking for Isuzu USA when the final Troopers showed up for 2002. When this truck was built, Isuzu was engaged in an eye-gouging, kidney-spearing price- and financing-deal war with Mitsubishi Motors and its Montero.
