1962 International Scout 80, NO Resrve

This is a driver or a great project. Has only 58,000 miles- real mileage, It drives well. My Grandmother bought it when it was 2 years old. Then it went to my dad now it is mine. I wish I had the time to do it more justice. We drive it around all the time. Runs and drives great not like a 2014 BMW but real good for a 51 year old SUV, it is very tight.

Has the stock slant 4-cylinder runs well. 3-speed manual transmission. Two gas tanks, warren hubs, heater, and vacuum wipers. It is a fun rig and they are going up in value unlike the Bronco or Blazer that have peaked out.

It has very current and original belts hoses – about two years old. Everything works but the emergency brake it is missing a cable. Tires are old but OK for short distance. No rust/ cancer. Has the normal surface rust on the springs and undercarriage from the poor factory paint- that is it. Has a spare tire and wheel, even the jack.

The Scout was on my families Sheep Ranch in Reno, Nevada. It is really a barn find. My grandmother used to bang the rear quarter panels putting it in the garage and my dad did the typical “sheepherder” body work and the dumb looking bumpers– nothing that can’t be reworked to show quality- or just leave it. It is the original color with one re-spray about 40 years ago. There is some sheepherder rattle can touch up. The top was rattle canned as well.

This scout is the most original I have ever seen.

It is a great driving truck just needs somebody to love and enjoy it. It could be repainted and put new tires on it and look like it was only a couple of years old.
