International Harvester Scout Ii 4 X 4 on 2040-cars
Virginia Beach, Virginia, United States
Stunningly restored and maintained 1978 International Scout II 4x4. This Scout drives and performs just as well as it looks. The rebuilt Interanational 392 (from a 1973 Travelall) starts with no hesitation, sounds amazing and provides plenty of power for any classic 4x4 enthusiast. The original owner of this Scout lived in North Carolina so there is very little evidence of winter/salt exposure on this truck. The original hardtop (also freshly painted in pearl white) and associated interior trim is included. The vehicle has 166801 original miles. The engine, transmission and other rebuilt items only have 3000 miles. Mechanical: Completely rebuilt International 392 engine with Edelbrock 4 barrel carburetor and full electronic MSD ignition with with blaster coil, all mated to a to a rebuilt TorqueFlite 3-speed transmission and Dana gears. Other improvements include fully wrapped/ceramic coated headers, dual exhaust, ceramic coated valve covers, new master cylinder and new starter motor. Frame: Great condition with added frame brace just behind the front bumper for added stiffness and better on/off road handling. 2" lift with Skyjacker shocks preserves the classic Scout appearance while adding just the right amount of off-road capability. Interior is in near perfect condition for a 34 year old vehicle. The carpet is in great condition and the factory seating has been recovered in a classic pattern. Wrapped roll bar. All guages, lights and controls work as they should except for the factory oil pressure guage (an aftermarket guage cluster was added just below the factor a/c for this reason - see photos). Factory a/c is installed but the compresser needs to be rebuilt. Alpine am/fm CD player with 4 speakers. Windows are slightly stiff but still go up and down just fine. Pasenger door could use a minor adjustment for better seating in the door lock. Pls message me if you would like to receive additional/specific photos or have any questions about this Scout II. |
