ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The classic 4x4 market has exploded in the last couple of years as more and more buyers realize they can enjoy a restored, one-of-a-kind vintage truck for less cost than a new 4x4. In addition to being easy to maintain, instantly recognizable and unlike any of your neighbors' trucks, a classic is an asset that won't depreciate like a new vehicle. The International Scout II is among the most beloved vintage trucks, and for good reason. A Scout II offers more legroom and cargo space than an Early Bronco and is much rarer than a Jeep CJ.
This highly optioned 1979 Scout II, clad in red with a beige interior, is easy and comfortable to drive thanks to power steering, power brakes, an automatic transmission and working factory air. All panels are straight and rust-free with good gaps; the fender flares, an unusual but attractive touch, are in great shape. Thehard top is in excellent shape both inside and out. Glass, bumpers and grille are in good condition, and the tint on the windows shows absolutely no discoloration or peeling. Beefy BF Goodrich mud terrain tires on alloy wheels have plenty of tread left; black Nerf bars down both sides complete the look (and make it easier to climb in and out -- the truck has a modest shackle lift that gives it just the right stance).
The interior has held up well, with seat upholstery, door panels and dash in good condition. The carpet is particularly nice. There's a modern stereo in the dash with speakers built into the front seat boxes (plus an additional set of speakers behind the rear seat). The roll bar, painted red to match the truck, adds a level of safety should you ever wish to remove the hard top.
Under the hood is a 345 cubic inch V8 mated to a TorqueFlite 727 automatic transmission. It has Dana 44 front and rear axles with stock gearing, and four-wheel drive works perfectly in both high and low range. This Scout features automatic locking front hubs. The engine runs well, the transmission shifts smoothly, and both the power steering and power brakes function just as they should. The air conditioning has been recently serviced and blows cold.
In short, it's a good-looking, turn-key Scout II ready to be enjoyed by its next owner. For more information, give us a call at 404-692-5250. |
