This Scout is more than a vehicle to me, it is a dear old friend. However, it has become a dear old friend that I have neglected. I no longer have the time to keep her in good shape and take her out for the rides I once used to. She was surely everyone's favorite. Roomy, Comfortable and smooth over all of the bumps the trail had to offer. Best of all no one ever had to kick in for fuel since she has no problem running on the biodiesel that I made in the garage. But now it is time for her to bring joy to someone else if the price is right. Please know that there are real tears in my eyes as I am writing this. You can see from the pictures that the old girl is not a show truck, she was however my primary form of transportation for almost 3 years. She took me to work and anywhere else I needed to go even in the middle of winter (some of those cold mornings made for hard starting on the old diesel). The floor has been mostly replaced with diamond plate steel and the body mounts have long been useless. the body is however held firmly in place due to show cage (I call it a show cage because I will not make any claims about it protecting you in a rollover) being connected to the frame and the body. the alternator was rebuilt a few years ago and a new water pump installed when I put a new head gasket on about 3 years ago. The 35 inch tires are very old and show it with cracks, but they have a lot of tread and the air that is in them has held for about 5 months now. The brakes are currently out of commission so this scout is going to need to be taken to her new home on a trailer. The steering was a temporary contraption that I made when the spring over conversion was done. That temporary contraption just held up for the two years I have been driving it. I would recommend to the new owner a redesign in steering. I have the full top and everything needed to remove the current tailgate and put the top back on. She will start and drive, she fired right up without a jump despite sitting for about a month. Please only bid if you are serious, I will not let non-paying bidders off. PayPal deposit due within 24 hrs.$500. Full payment cash or cashiers check due within 2 weeks. |
