1977 International Scout Ssii on 2040-cars
Clearfield, Pennsylvania, United States
Due to some strange circumstances I am selling my 1977 Scout SSII. As a former IHC dealer I bought this with idea of keeping it forever but the opportunity to purchase a 1970 Dodge Challenger presented itself so now something has to go. This Scout was originally sold new in California where it spent most of its life. The truck was a barn find and restored in 2003 from what the previous owner told me. The Scout was rust free before the restoration and you can see from the photos that all the usual problem areas are in great condition. The Scout was stripped to bare metal, rust proofed and repainted in IH Winter White acrylic paint which still looks very good. The stripes are in good condition with the exception of some scratches on the driver's side rear quarter panel(see photo). The interior was originally green but has been redone in black vinyl. The one front seat has one area that was torn but has been repaired. The interior floor has been Rhino lined from front to back and really looks awesome and is easy to keep looking sharp. The Scout runs great with the exception of a finicky EGR valve that sometimes sticks and causes it run rich and am/fm radio does not work. Transmission shifts perfectly and the 4 wheel drive works great although I have never had it off-road. It has the Lock-O-Matic hubs, one of which is brand new that I got from a friend when the original failed. Steering is tight and it runs down the road straight as an arrow with no issues. The Scout comes with a complete soft top and doors which I have never had on the vehicle. As far as the odometer reading goes it currently shows 24065 and that could change some just because I do drive it some. The odometer was replaced during the restoration process and the title shows exempt. The total mileage on the Scout is thought to be right around 60000 miles but there is no way to verify that exactly. I believe it may not even have that many miles on it based on the way it runs and drives and the amount of original parts on it. She has always been stored indoors and only taken out on very nice days. Tires are like new and we just state inspected it. Please come and take a look because SSIIs are getting very hard to find especially in this condition. This SSII is not perfect but most Scouts weren't when they came off the line. I get tons of compliments on it and I want it to go to a good home where it can be enjoyed and showed off.The vehicle can be inspected by appointment. Please come take a look. Thanks and good luck. A copy of the original line set ticket, owner's manual plus I will include a full set of service and parts manuals which I purchased for it as well. On Aug-11-14 at 10:45:04 PDT, seller added the following information: I have some photos of the top installed from the previous owner. Please email me and I will send them to you. Thanks. |
