This 1966 Scout 800 "AWD" was born and raised on the west coast. Original owner from Kamiah, Idaho. Technically I am the 4th owner but I consider myself the 3rd (the second owner listed it online thru a friend who was a car dealer). I bought the Scout with 59,417 miles on it over 5 years ago. I was able to speak at length with the second owner when I bought it (he took a lot of pride in owning it, as have I) and here is a list of the things he did to it:
Reupholstered and repainted interior
Rebuilt the single barrel Holley carburetor
Brake and wheel cylinders overhauled
Replace most engine gaskets
New tires (5)
Rebuilt window channels and guides
There is a LOT more, with receipts
I replaced the exhaust from the manifold back about 500 miles ago. Truck has been kept in garage and in fact, has never even been wet since I've owned it. It has been used solely as a summer run-around vehicle (mostly just to the beach and back). Oil has been changed at the end of every summer. Battery is two years old. In the 1970's there was an IH dealer a few miles from where I currently live. I was able to take it over to a guy who was their mechanic as a kid, he's driven it and looked it over for me a few times and always seems impressed by the original condition of the truck.
All glass is in great shape. Comes with top. Engine pulls strong (granny first gear), drives straight and stops great. Both tanks hold gas as they should and the switch to change between works perfect. The gas gauge does not work though (sending unit is shot). Also, the windshield wipers don't work (from everything I've read, they hardly ever did/do). The rear main seal leaks enough oil to leave a spot over prolonged time but never needs replenishing. There is very minor surface rust only. 47 year old paint is original and dings and scratches are authentic. Scout is currently registered (transferable) and inspected by New York State. I put standard 3-point seat belts on the front seats and lap belts in the back (yes, dear!) It came with & comes with a canopy soft top and frame but I have never put it on.
I have the original manual (and a reprinted copy too) as well as a copy of the line-set ticket bought from the IH archives. I have truck insured with Hagerty Classic Auto for less than $125 per year. I LOVE this truck but we have recently become a family of 5 and just don't fit.
Truck comes with no warranties implied or otherwise. No trade offers please. I am happy to help coordinate with shipping. $1000 via paypal within 24 hours of winning bid.
Thanks for looking and please, if you can't pay, don't bid.

I just realized that there is no driver seat picture after trying to load them all 5X's. It is in great shape and looks as good as the rest.
On Jan-31-13 at 17:14:24 PST, seller added the following information:The engine is a 152 cu. inch NOT the 196, sorry for the confusion.
Also, the soft top is an aftermarket piece. Thanks
