Beaverton, Oregon, United States

This is an original local (Portland, Or.) low mileage car. I am the 3rd owner and the only reason I am selling is I have a 34" inseam and this car's seat just doesn't go back far enough for my arthritic knees.  I believe from looking at the Carfax, that Beaverton Infiniti retained ownership and one of the dealership family members drove the car for the first 9 years, as it was not registered until 2001 with 11,715 miles.  The first registered owner bought it for his wife, who shortly afterwards had health issues that precluded her driving.  It stayed in the garage, getting occasionally exercised and serviced.  It was then sold to a neighbor for his wife, and she couldn't find the time to drive, again garaged. Upon my purchase, I had the car serviced by Beaverton Infiniti, the original dealer for an inspection, and oil service.  I had the brake fluid flushed, and Infiniti had the injectors and fuel rails replaced on a factory recall!!! At this moment, this M30 is in superb mechanical condition and nearly perfect cosmetic condition with just minor scratches and nearly imperceptible flaws.  Other than a slight wear on the driver's bolster, the leather and interior is immaculate.  The selling dealer installed a custom burl wood dash from Madera Concepts, rendering this very much a one of a kind auto.  Everything works:  the A/C blows ice cold, cruise, power windows, top, seat, mirrors, antenna. I had a Kenwood AM/FM/CD w/ Bluetooth installed using the factory premium speakers. A factory stereo could be reinstalled should you have the inclination. Tires are recent. Upon your purchase of this car, you can get in and drive it anywhere, (if your legs are shorter than mine).  this is a 22 year old car that Valet parkers put up front.  This is a very rare usable Infiniti convertible.  I have not personally seen a M30 offered that had less than 100k miles.  This is a car with very real appreciation potential.  I think this is arguably the best looking true 4 seat convertible  ever made. The car is located in the Portland, Or. area.  You are more than welcome to have the car inspected by the mechanic of your choice

NHTSA opens investigation into Nissan's handling of airbag recall

Mon, Mar 23 2015

In March of 2014, Nissan recalled eight models among its Nissan and Infiniti brands, totaling more than one million vehicles, over faulty occupant classification system software controlling the passenger airbag. The company discovered a variety of factors that would interfere with the system's ability to detect an adult passenger in the shotgun seat, resulting in an illuminated warning on on the dashboard and the passenger airbag not deploying in an accident. Yet 124 complaints submitted to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration since the recall allege that the dealer-installed fix hasn't actually fixed the problem; some consumers say the problem persists after multiple trips to the dealer. The Detroit News reports that NHTSA is opening an investigation into the matter to determine whether a new recall is needed. The occupant sensor has been a bugbear for Nissan over the past couple of years; a much smaller recall for the issue in 2013 covered five of the eight vehicles that were recalled in 2014, and that earlier recall also continued to generate complaints after the issue had supposedly been fixed. At the same time, the company learned that in two instances there was another twist, where the dashboard warning wasn't illuminated but the passenger airbag still didn't go off in an accident. Nissan isn't alone, though, with airbag recalls on a steep upswing across the industry even before the Takata debacle.

Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge racing toward Detroit with Red Bull in its veins

Thu, 05 Dec 2013

There are several ways an automaker can get into Formula One racing. It can start its own team from scratch (like Toyota did in 2002), it can buy an existing team (like BMW did with Sauber in 2005) or it can supply engines to other teams (as so many manufacturers have done over the years). Infiniti chose another direction and opted to sponsor the world-champion Red Bull Racing team.
Infiniti has undoubtedly poured millions into its partnership with Red Bull since it started in 2011, but aside from the Sebastian Vettel edition FX (which technically emerged from the company's sponsorship of the driver as separate from the team), the tie-in has yet to translate into a Red Bull-tuned (or at least -inspired) Infiniti for the road. But that's just what Nissan's premium brand has in store for us at the upcoming Detroit Auto Show in January.
Well, almost, because the concept just announced is still a step or two away from reaching your local Infiniti dealership, but here it is just the same. It's called the Q50 Eau Rouge, and it's based on the company's latest tech-laden sports sedan. It takes its name, of course, from the famous uphill section of the Spa-Francorchamps circuit where Sebastian Vettel won the Belgian Grand Prix earlier this year, but Infiniti isn't telling us much more than that.

Infiniti QX60 AWD vs. Mazda CX-9 Signature

Fri, Jun 16 2017

In certain ZIP codes around Dallas, Chevy's Suburban remains the Official SUV of Texas, but Infiniti's QX60 could be the Official Crossover. The Pathfinder-based three-row is everywhere. And while its popularity is based on transporting kids and their stuff, the QX60 is a more urban Suburban. Mazda's CX-9 is not as ubiquitous as the QX60 in McMansion driveways, but it has been making inroads into the near-luxury segment with its near-luxury spec. The CX-9's second generation has obviously upscale intent, in the sheetmetal and throughout the top-line Signature interior. And the prices of these two cars are surprisingly close. INFINITI QX60 AWD: The sheetmetal differentiating Infiniti's QX60 from its volume-oriented Nissan donor is attractive. The changes are subtle, and in profile the Pathfinder and Infiniti are almost identical, but the eye is drawn to the differences in the grille and D-pillar. The Infiniti has a luxury vibe with a more athletic stance. The QX60's interior surfaces seem upscale, but if you want wood it will cost you. In "building our own" and opting for graphite leather with maple trim, the wood requires another $12,000(!) of mandatory packages, including Infiniti's Premium and Premium Plus packages ($1,800 and $2,900, respectively) and $7,300 of Deluxe Tech. So, wood? We wouldn't. But if you do, know the QX60 won't match the larger QX80 in presence or passion, but it is certainly something beyond a rebadged Pathfinder. For you and your passengers, there is 156 cubic feet of interior room; with the second and third rows folded, you can accommodate 76 cubic feet of cargo. Like in most crossovers, that third row is best used by young kids, but taking six adults to lunch won't require too much gymnastics – or chiropractics. On the road, the QX60 is known more for comfort than composure; this isn't an old Buick, but neither is it a BMW. Nissan's 3.5 liter V6 produces generous power (295 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque), but it's transmitted to either the front wheels or all wheels via a CVT (continuously variable transmission). Nissan has tried to mitigate the quirkiness, but it's a CVT all the same. At a well-equipped base of $44,000, we like the QX60. But start adding options, and you can approach $60,000, which is real money even in the better ZIP codes. MAZDA CX-9 SIGNATURE: This, ladies and gentlemen, is dramatic. Mazda has absolutely nailed it. Using Mazda's KODO design language on a large platform could have gone wrong.
