2008 Infiniti G Models Coupe
Summary
Sporting new looks and more power, the 2008 Infiniti G37 Coupe receives a name change to go along with a bump in displacement. Infiniti engineers have upgraded the stout V-6 to 3.7-liters, delivering 330 hp. With a restyled and improved interior space, the G37 Coupe is available in Base, Journey, and Sport 6MT trim levels and is capable of up to 16/23 mpg city/hwy with the 5-speed automatic; a 6-speed manual is available. Standard safety features include ABS, traction control, stability control, tire pressure monitoring, front, side, and curtain airbags. The G37 Coupe provides excellent performance on par with its corporate cousin the Nissan 370Z, but adds the practicality of a rear seat and more cargo room.
Benefits of Driving a 2008 Infiniti G Models Coupe
Infiniti's 2008 G35 sedan and G37 coupe are quite different in appearance yet have a similar, sharp-edged character that lends priority to performance over comfort. That's not to say that their interiors aren't well-appointed; both models come with great seats, an elegant interior with nice materials, and very impressive audio systems. Both G models stand out for offering overall performance near the top of its class, when compared with other V6 sport sedans and coupes in its price range.
What's new for 2008?
A redesigned Infiniti G coupe makes its debut for 2008, offering a new look and more power in the way of a 330-horsepower, 3.7L V6. New performance-oriented equipment takes advantage of the power, and the interior now has some improved convenience and entertainment features. To keep pace with its increased displacement, the G35 coupe (as it was formerly named) has appropriately been renamed the G37.
Model Strengths
- Performance
- attractive interior
- available performance and technology options.
Model Review
The Infiniti G35 sedan and G37 coupe have similar styling and mechanical underpinnings for 2008, but there are some important differences between the two. The sedan includes a 306-horsepower, 3.5L V6, while the coupe gets a new 330-horsepower, 3.7L version with hydraulically controlled variable valve timing. In both the coupe and sedan, buyers can choose from a six-speed manual gearbox or a five-speed automatic transmission.

2022 Infiniti QX55 pricing is out, and it carries a premium over the standard QX50
Tue, Feb 16 2021Pricing for the coupe-ified 2022 Infiniti QX55 crossover is out, and just like every other coupe-like version of a crossover, it’s more expensive than the regular one. For starters, the QX55 comes with standard all-wheel drive. It also starts at the second trim up the QX50Â’s hierarchy, Luxe. The premium over an equivalent QX50 is $3,000, landing the QX55 at a $47,525 starting price, including the $1,025 destination charge. There are only two other trims available: Essential and Sensory. A QX55 Essential starts at $52,625 and adds leather seats (heated/cooled in front), a heated steering wheel, navigation, 16-speaker Bose audio and a 360-degree camera. For a little more cash, you can tack on a ProAssist and ProActive package to the Essential trim for a host of driver assistance features, including all the goodies weÂ’re accustomed to in NissanÂ’s ProPilot Assist. The last and top trim is Sensory, and it starts at $58,075. You get all the packages and features of the lower trims, plus a motion-activated hatch, semi-aniline leather seats, open-pore wood trim, tri-zone climate control and ambient lighting. Unlike the regular QX50, there is no top-of-the-line Autograph trim. If youÂ’re interested in a QX55, Infiniti says itÂ’s opening up a digital reservation program today. If you reserve one via this method and go through with the purchase or lease, Infiniti promises you the choice of “a tasteful trendsetting gift.” Your options include a Transparent Sound speaker, Away luggage bundle or a Tom Dixon Brew coffee set. QX55s will start landing in dealers this spring, where you can buy one the old-fashioned way, sans gift. Related video:
F1-inspired, 563-horsepower Infiniti Q60 Project Black S details finally revealed
Mon, Oct 1 2018Despite being first revealed at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show, Infiniti has been quite coy concerning the details of its F1-inspired hybrid super coupe, the Q60 Black S. That ends at this year's Paris Motor Show, where the company has finally spilled specific information about the car. It's technologically fascinating, even if the on-paper performance doesn't sound all that shocking. Total power output of the concept, now called Q60 Project Black S, is 563 horsepower, with final torque figures yet to be announced. That power comes from a combination of the twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 found in the Q60 Red Sport 400, along with a trio of motor-generator units that have similar functionality as those found in the Renault Sport F1 car's KERS (Kinetic Energy Recovery System). One large one is connected to the rear axle and generates electricity under deceleration like most hybrids, and it can deliver 160 horsepower under acceleration. The other two motor-generators are coupled to the turbochargers. They generate power under acceleration as the turbines spin. They also act as an electrical anti-lag system, spinning up the turbines when hitting the throttle again after it has been closed in order to provide maximum boost immediately. Power for and from these motor-generators is stored in a 4.4-kWh lithium-ion battery pack. All the powertrain's power goes through a seven-speed automatic transmission to the rear wheels via a mechanical limited-slip differential. The company claims it can hit 62 mph in under 4 seconds. One of the advantages of this powertrain is that electricity is generated both on acceleration and deceleration, which helps maintain battery charge so the motor assistance can be used more of the time. How aggressive the car is with the electrical boost is determined by which mode the vehicle is in, Road, Quali (for qualifying), or Race. Road is the most conservative, whereas Quali is the most aggressive. The reason for this is that if you're qualifying, you have to go the fastest you can in a short amount of time. A digital simulation of the car running a lap in Quali mode at Circuit de Catalunya estimated it would use 15 percent of the battery charge. That means it could do a little over six laps in that mode and maintain full use of its electrical assists. Race mode conserves battery life more, since you'll want that power over the course of the race. A downside to the Project Black S hybrid system is that it's really heavy.
Infiniti Q60 Coupe spied in production guise
Sat, Nov 7 2015Here is the best news we've had all day: the production Infiniti Q60 Coupe will bear an uncanny resemblance to the concept car that previewed it earlier this year in Detroit. We know this thanks to our very first round of spy photos of the heavily camouflaged production car. Although there are only three images to draw from, we've got a clear picture of the concept-inspired lines of this new two-door. In particular, the front and rear fascias look to draw a lot of inspiration from the concept. In front, the headlights look to be similar in shape, while the double-arch grille looks largely unchanged from what the company previewed. Perhaps the biggest change up front is around the fog lights, which look to sit in far more conventional housings. Also gone is the Q60 Concept's Formula One-inspired chin, possibly in part due to the company's (and parent Renault's) perilous position as a title sponsor for the Red Bull Racing team. The taillights reinforce the concept car inspiration, retaining a similarly svelte shape and tying in with a small trunk lid. Also like the Q60 Concept, our spies report that a twin-turbocharged, 3.0-liter V6 will be on offer, likely as the range-topping engine. We'd expect the volume motor to be the Mercedes-Benz 2.0-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder found in the likes of the new Q30, as well as the CLA-, GLA-, and A-Class. It's also certainly possible that Infiniti's long-serving 3.7-liter V6 will be available in some form. Whatever engines arrive, we can expect six-speed manual and seven-speed automatic transmissions to be the sole options. Have a look at the photos up at the top of the page. And for comparison's sake, we've included the official Q60 Concept gallery down below just under the video showing a 360-degree view. Take a peek at both and let us know what you think of Infiniti's work.
