Production Infiniti QX80 will be revealed at Dubai Motor Show

Back at the New York auto show, Infiniti showed the QX80 Monograph concept, which indicated what direction the updated production QX80 would go. At this year's Dubai auto show, we'll get to see how close the QX80 gets to the concept, since that's where the production car will debut. And thanks to some teaser images from Infiniti, we get a solid sneak peak at the SUV. Immediately apparent is that many key styling cues have made it to production, but the overall car has been notably toned down from the already relatively conservative concept. We're glad to see that the headlights have completed their trip up the front fascia, matching up better with the corporate trapezoidal grille and providing a wider, more aggressive look. The jutting, Leno-esque lower valence of the concept has been reduced to more modest proportions, but the basic shape of the lower grilles remains the same. It also appears that the fenders haven't been pumped up as much as the concept's. The mild redesign matches what will probably be very mild mechanical changes. Previous reports have said that the new QX80 will retain the same platform and powertrain as the current model. We wouldn't be surprised, though, if there have been some suspension tweaks and maybe a few extra horsepower squeezed from the current 400-horsepower 5.6-liter V8. Also, though Infiniti hasn't revealed when the SUV will go on sale, we would expect it to arrive at dealers early next year. In certain cases, biodiesel is so inexpensive that it is essentially free to use. Thanks to the decline of crude oil prices, other fuels, including biodiesel, have been following the trend. After setting new renewable fuel mandates, Congress also reinstated a $1-per-gallon tax credit for refiners. With such low prices, Midwest refiners are paying as low as $0.645 per gallon. In California, however, additional incentives mean some customers could get money back on the biodiesel they use, depending on the deals between producers and blenders and whether or not they share the credits. Infiniti CEO Roland Krueger says that it will leverage the EV expertise from Nissan for the electrification of its cars. Don't hold out for a luxury version of the Leaf wearing an Infiniti badge, though. When asked if an all-electric Infiniti were out of the questions, Krueger says, "Performance and the range are very important in the premium segment, so we believe that for Infiniti a hybrid or plug-in hybrid is the right proposition at this time." J.D. Power: Mini, Lexus again offer most satisfying sales experience

JD Power has released its annual Sales Satisfaction Index Study, and once again Mini and Lexus have taken top honors. Overall, buyers are more satisfied with the auto-buying sales experience than they were last year, with those surveyed reporting an average score of 664 points on a 1,000-point scale. That's up from 648 in 2011. Dealer satisfaction also increased by five points over last year as well.
All told, Lexus brought home an index score of 737, which was high enough to put it atop the luxury brands for the second year in a row. JD Power says Infiniti came in second in that category with a score of 728 and Cadillac rounded out the podium with it's rating of 725. Speaking of Infiniti, that brand saw the single largest jump in sales satisfaction of any brand on the survey, popping up 52 index points over 2011.
Among mass-market brands, Mini ranked highest with a score of 712, followed closely by Buick with 706 and GMC farther down the line with 683. You can check out the full press release below for more information.
