2006 Hyundai Sonata Gl Sedan 4-door 2.4l - 1 Owner on 2040-cars
East Meadow, New York, United States
2006 Hyundai Sonata - 4 Cylinder - One Owner 113,021 Miles New York residents please know your restrictions when bidding on this vehicle. I have a receipt for complete short block and rebuilt motor done in 2012 with 88,000 miles. Work was performed by Hyundai under warranty. Runs and drives like new. Ice cold AC. Has a dent on the right rear trunk and quarter panel .... OK! - it was probably hit by a train! Has frame damage. I drove the car 10 miles art highway speeds no problem. In fact, you can drive it home, although I would suggest shipping. This vehicle goes to the highest bidder. No Reserve! No Buy it Now! Passenger front window does not go up or down. Strong motor - no leaks, noises, smoking, misfire or slippage. Rear window is broken. Front tires are weak and the car is a little dirty. I had to disconnect the battery because after opening the trunk I could not close it and the trunk light stays on. The reason Hyundai warranted the motor was because all the required maintenance to the vehicle was always done on time and religiously. This car obviously does not pass NY State inspection. New York
residents are unable to bid or buy unless they are a
registered car dealer, registering/re-titling the vehicle out of state or are
using it for “Parts Only”. When a car is sold as “Parts Only’ or “Salvage” it must pass a NY
State “Salvage Inspection”. This is done to keep rebuilt wrecks that are unsafe
off the road – especially vehicles with frame damage or airbag deployment. My
cars are rarely rebuildable wrecks and therefore will easily pass this
strict inspection process when the problem that is advertised is corrected.
There are about 10 to 15 NY State salvage inspection sites in NY State – 2 or 3
are on Long Island and there are a couple in NY City. Call me for further
clarification. As a registered NY State dealer I am unable to sell a car that won’t
pass inspection to a NY State resident. Anyone else can bid and buy. Sorry, I
don’t make the rules but as a used car dealer I must abide by them. Any questions call 516-228-1016 and leave a message if I’m not in.
Please don’t wait until the last day or last few hours to contact me. Please
speak clearly. I will pick you up at the airport, train or bus station.
Winning bidder please
leave a $300.00 non-refundable deposit in PayPal within 48 hours of the auction
close. If I don't receive the deposit within the 48 hours I will re-list the
car.
Please plan on picking this vehicle up within 15 days of the auction
close unless you have made prior arrangements with me before bidding.
All vehicles that run and drive are driven at least 10 to 20 miles
and usually 30 to 40 miles. I try to describe these vehicles to the best of my
35 years of experience. Our familiarity with these autos is limited to the miles
we drive them. Please be aware of this when bidding.
As always, if the winning bidder is not happy after road test and examination, I will cancel the sale and
refund $250.00 of your deposit.
Attention “Phantom/No-Show” bidders – I do not entertain any second
place bids and always re-list the vehicle. If your feedback is 1 or lower you must contact me prior to bidding.
If you don’t contact me your bid will be cancelled and you will be blocked from
further bidding.
Final sale price is what you pay! (New York residents must pay sales
tax and inspection fee when applicable.) There are no extra hidden fees!!!
We will accept any and all trade-ins or will visit you to purchase
any vehicle outright within a 50 mile radius of zip code 11554.
Good luck and thanks for looking! |

Ford Mustang Mach-E fails Sweden's moose test
Wed, Sep 29 2021The infamous moose test has claimed another casualty. This time it's the Ford Mustang Mach-E AWD Long Range, which was tested in an electric four-way alongside the Tesla Model Y, Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Skoda Enyaq iV (an electric utility vehicle closely related to the Volkswagen ID.4 that is sold in the United States). According to the Swedish testers at Teknikens Varld, Ford's electric car not only failed to hit the speed necessary for a passing grade, it didn't perform well at slower speeds, either. To pass the outlet's moose test, a car has to complete a rapid left-right-straight S-shaped pattern marked by cones at a speed of at least 72 km/h (44.7 miles per hour). The test is designed to mimic the type of avoidance maneuver a driver would have to take in order to avoid hitting something that wandered into the road, which in Sweden may be a moose but could just as easily be a deer or some other member of the animal kingdom elsewhere in the world, or possibly a child or car backing into the motorway. Not only is the maneuver very aggressive, it's also performed with weights belted into each seat and more weight added to the cargo area to hit the vehicle's maximum allowable carrying capacity. The Mustang Mach-E only managed to complete the moose test at 68 km/h (42.3 mph), well below the passing-grade threshold. Even at much lower speeds, Teknikens Varld says the Mach-E (which boasts the highest carrying capacity and was therefore loaded with more weight than the rest of the vehicles tested in this quartet) is "too soft in the chassis" and suffers from "too slow steering." Proving that it is indeed possible to pass the test, the Hyundai and Skoda completed the maneuver at the 44.7-mph figure required for a passing grade and the Tesla did it at 46.6 mph, albeit with less weight in the cargo area. It's not clear whether other versions of the Mustang Mach-E would pass the test. It's also unknown if Ford will make any changes to its chassis tuning or electronic stability control software, as some other automakers have done after a poor performance from Teknikens Varld, to improve its performance in the moose test. Hyundai, Porsche top J.D. Power APEAL study
Thu, Jul 24 2014Just as they did in the Initial Quality Study, Porsche and Hyundai have taken the premium and non-premium crown, respectively, for the 2014 J.D. Power APEAL study. This is the tenth consecutive year for that Porsche has been rated the best premium make in the APEAL study, which attempts to figure out how pleased owners are with their purchases. For 2014, it asked 86,000 owners of MY2014 cars to rate their vehicles in 77 different categories 90 days after their initial purchase. The resulting figures were plugged in deliver the APEAL score, which is rated on a 1,000-point scale. The industry average sits at 794 points for 2014, although that's a one-percent decline over last year's rating. In this year's study, premium brands averaged 840 out of 1,000, while non-premium makes average 785. For their part, Porsche netted an impressive 882 points, while Hyundai earned an 804. Interestingly, only four non-premium brands (Hyundai, Ram, Volkswagen and Mini) finished above the industry average for 2014. It's also interesting to see the clear delineation between premium and non-premium brands, with an eight-point gap between the non-premium champ, Hyundai, and the lowest-rated premium brand, Volvo. Porsche and Hyundai weren't the only automakers to take home recognition. Dodge managed to tie Porsche for the most segment awards, with three. The Challenger, Charger and Dart all topped their market. There were a number of two-segment winners, as well, with Audi, Ford, Mercedes-Benz and Nissan capturing a pair of segments each. Scroll down for the full press release from JD Power on this year's winners. Automakers Struggle to Impress Owners with Increased Usefulness of In-Vehicle Technologies And Features on All-New and Redesigned Models Dodge and Porsche Each Receive Three Segment-Level Awards; Audi, Ford, Mercedes-Benz and Nissan Each Receive Two WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif.: 23 July 2014 - Although manufacturers are putting more and more technologies and functionality in their new and redesigned models, satisfaction with these features is not significantly higher among owners of those models than among owners of carryover models, according to the J.D. Power 2014 U.S. Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout (APEAL) StudySM released today. The APEAL Study, now in its 19th year, serves as the industry benchmark for new-vehicle appeal. Owners evaluate their vehicle across 77 attributes, which combine into an overall APEAL score that is measured on a 1,000-point scale.
Trump wants a trade deal, but South Korea doesn't want US cars
Thu, Jul 6 2017SEOUL - US auto imports from the likes of General Motors and Ford must become more chic, affordable or fuel-efficient to reap the rewards of President Donald Trump's attempts to renegotiate a trade deal with key ally South Korea, officials and industry experts in Seoul say. Meeting South Korean President Moon Jae-in last week in Washington, Trump said the United States would do more to address trade imbalances with South Korea and create "a fair shake" to sell more cars there, the world's 11th largest auto market. "What we really want to say to the United States is: Make good cars, make cars that Korean consumers like." While imports from automakers including Ford, Chrysler and GM more than doubled last year largely thanks to free trade deal which took effect in 2012, sales account for just 1 percent of a market dominated by more affordable models from local giants Hyundai and affiliate Kia. Imports make up just 15 percent of the overall Korean auto market, and are mainly more luxurious models from German automakers BMW and Daimler AG's Mercedes-Benz, which also benefit from a trade deal with the European Union. "Addressing non-tariff barriers would not fundamentally raise the competitiveness of US cars," a senior Korean government official told Reuters, declining to be identified because of the sensitivity of the subject. "What we really want to say to the United States is: Make good cars, make cars that Korean consumers like." TASTE BARRIER In Korea, US imports are seen as lagging German brands in brand image, sophistication and fuel economy, industry experts say. US imports do have a competitive advantage in electric cars: Tesla Motors' electric vehicles are seen as both environmentally friendly and trendy, while GM has launched a long-range Bolt EV. US Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross had cited a quota in the current trade deal as an obstacle to boosting imports. The quota allows US automakers to bring in each year 25,000 vehicles that meet US, not necessarily Korean, safety standards. Should GM, for example, decide to bring in more than its quota of one model - the Impala sedans - it would cost up to $75 million to modify the cars to meet Korean safety standards, the company told its local labor union. Asked about non-tariff barriers, a spokesman at GM's Korean unit said removing them could expand the range of models the company can bring in from the United States. No US company, however, has yet to make full use of the quota, industry data shows.
