Note that the car appears to be black and only on close inspection can you see that the color is a very dark shade of brown. Technically, I believe it’s brown with a black metallic. I looked up the paint code (VB2) and it's described as Kona Black Metallic. I've included a close up pic to show what I mean. Beautiful unique color and absolutely stunning with the interior! Below are items that are NEW in 2014 (NOT available in prior years) 12.3 inch all digital instrument cluster (Like S550) Heads up display on windshield Speed Cruise setting Lane departure warning Blind spot detection Turn by turn navigation Multi-View Camera System – Full 360 view Adaptive cruise with full stop/start capability BlueLink - Remote control, emergency and location from your phone! 9.2 inch Navigation/Entertainment screens both rear seats Navigation shown at any time in rear Navigation input capability from rear 3 Passenger capability in rear (middle flips up) 3 Zone climate control with sync (driver, passenger, rear) Improved A/C in seats Completely rearranged driver controls (huge improvement) Soft close doors front and rear Streaming audio capability Ability to store music on hard drive Huge improvements in navigation controls (favorites, groups, etc.) Improvements in voice commands Seating and storage improvements Those were just the NEW items added in 2014. Other amenities not mentioned. SOME are listed below: Power reclining rear seats and headrests Power tilt and telescopic wheel Power sun shades in rear (both sides and rear) controllable from any seat Heated and cooled front AND rear seats More interior room than Mercedes S550 Adjustable air ride and sport transmission settings (super smooth) Awesome heads up display. Pic included shows cruise set at 64, a car is detected in front and the unit has automatically slowed to 60. There’s also a warning that someone is in your blind spot on the right. Super nice! You never need to take your eyes off the road.

Hyundai, Kia announce buyback plan for angry Korean investors

Wed, 12 Nov 2014

Hyundai's controversial decision last September to move its Korean headquarters to an expansive (and expensive) new facility was met with a swift backlash by shareholders. After making the biggest land purchase in South Korean history, the company's share price took a nine-point nose dive.
Now, in a bid to get back in the good graces of its stockholders, Hyundai and its subsidiary, Kia, will make a $615-million stock buyback plan. Reuters claims this is the first time in ten years that Hyundai has made a buyback offer with the explicit purpose of pumping up share prices.
The total deal bumped up Hyundai's share prices 5.7 percent while Kia is up two percent, although neither company has fully recovered from the battering that followed the headquarters announcement. It's unclear what else it will take for Hyundai to recover the ground it lost during the land deal.

2013 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid gets bigger, better battery pack, lower MSRP

Thu, 21 Feb 2013

Just yesterday, we told you how Hyundai's 2013 Sonata Hybrid was late out of the gate (along with its mechanical twin, the Kia Optima Hybrid), with growing speculation suggesting that the company was revisiting its gas-electric sedan with an eye toward improving its efficiency.
Well, today Hyundai has released official details, and that's exactly what's happened. Sporting a larger starter generator, a higher output electric motor and a more potent 47 kW lithium polymer battery, the 2013 Sonata hybrid is more efficient than before. The revised hardware helps the sedan jump two miles per gallon combined over its 2012 predecessor. That pushes the 2013 Sonata Hybrid to 36 mpg city, 40 mpg highway and 38 mpg combined. Engineers also tweaked the machine's software, with revised driving pattern detection and engine on/off logic.

Next Hyundai Genesis caught shooting through the snow... with all-wheel drive?

Tue, 26 Feb 2013

Hyundai is still working on getting its next-generation Genesis sedan ready for production, and while these spy shots don't reveal much more of the car's new design than what we saw back in December, our spy photographer did manage to catch an important detail being added to the big sedan. In addition to its rumored 10-speed automatic transmission, it looks like the new Genesis could get an all-wheel drive system based on a sticker in the rear window that says "4WD AT." This would make sense, too, as the car was caught testing in snowy and icy Northern Sweden.
Another new element of the car visible in these pictures is our first look at the car with its LED headlights illuminated giving the front end a more upscale and dynamic look. In terms of its overall appearance, the new Genesis is expected to take some design elements from the HCD-14 Genesis Concept that Hyundai revealed last month at the Detroit Auto Show. There is still no official word, though, as to when we may see the new Genesis unveiled.
