2012 Hyundai Genesis Coupe 3.8 R-spec / Supercharged on 2040-cars
North Las Vegas, Nevada, United States
We'll sadly the time has come to move onto bigger and better things in life and to do so some things have to be removed to progress forward... So with that being said, I'm selling my 2012 3.8 Hyundai Genesis Coupe R-Spec / Supercharged. Mod List: - fully built motor bored over .5+ block has been honed, decked, straight edged, and hot tanked - 96.5mm JE 9:1 low comp pistons - BC sportsman rods - polished & balanced rotating assembly - ARP head studs - heads were straight edged, decked, and hot tanked too w/ All new valve seals - Every gasket, seal, and bolt was replaced with brand new OEM hardware. - Jun BL Headers - Jun BL down pipes - Ark Grip V2 exhaust - Spec stage 3 clutch - Spec lightweight flywheel - 800cc DW injectors - Walbro 450 fuel pump - Rotrex C38 supercharger - 2 Custom front mount air-to-water heat exchangers. 1 w/ fan & 1 without. - Custom painted valve covers & s/c bracket - blacked out tail lights - JCS triple gauge pod - EVO pro sport gauges: Boost, Oil Psi, and AFR - HSD coilovers (less than 3500 miles on them) The list truly goes on and on... There's close to $15-16k alone in the car. The car has been meticulously maintained by myself and only Adult driven. Hence the reason why there is such low mileage on the car. only 14700 miles!!!!!!!!!!! For a 2012 3.8 genesis coupe that is fully built top to bottom & supercharged - It's literally unheard of. The car has a base tune of 11 PSI on the 80mm Pulley, which is putting an estimated 450+ rwhp to the ground. It has the potential to be a 500+ rwhp car with a re-tune !!!!!! This is a steal for the lucky person that ends up purchasing this car. There's literally less than 500 miles on the motor since being built! The car is 110% mechanically sound. The motor was professionally built here in Las Vegas by a highly reputable machine shop. The reason behind why I'm getting rid of my pride and joy is due to the fact that my beautiful wife just gave birth to my son and now its time to get something a little more family practical with 4 doors. So its time to sell… And as the saying goes - My loss is your gain. If you have any questions at all please do not hesitate to ask and I will answer them to the best of my knowledge. Again, this car is truly one of a kind. You will not find another is 3.8 Hyundai Genesis Coupe out there in the continental U.S. that can even come close to magnitude of this car. ***NOTE*** The car no longer has the black headlights shown in the pictures, they are now clear / silver OEM headlights |

2014 Hyundai Veloster Turbo gets stripped-down, lower-cost R-Spec model
Wed, 20 Nov 2013We Autoblog staffers have had our ups and downs with our long-term 2013 Hyundai Veloster Turbo, but there's no question that the cheeky three-door hatchback has got its proponents. Case in point: at the recent driving event for the fire-breathing SRT Viper TA, none other than Ralph Gilles sauntered over to have a closer look at the matte grey Veloster we'd driven out to the track that day. Gilles had lots of praise for the Veloster styling; not out of line with similar sentiments we've heard all year long.
We digress slightly, but the larger point is that there still seems to be a lot of interest in the Veloster, and Hyundai has plans to fully explore potential new marketplace niches for the car with this all-new, 2014 Veloster Turbo R-Spec.
Following on with the formula for R-Spec models to date, the new Veloster is not a higher-performance Turbo, but rather one that is more affordable. The theory goes that a de-contented Veloster Turbo hits the sweet spot for those who are interested in tuning the car for performance, a group that will probably not need the higher spec comfort and connectivity content that the standard Turbo ships with.
Hyundai i20 WRC gets shakedown in Finland
Fri, 30 Aug 2013It's always a good day when we get to post a video about rally racing. It's even better when that video is of a new WRC competitor undergoing testing. This spy video shows Hyundai's i20 WRC, a car that debuted nearly one year ago at the 2012 Paris Motor Show. It's set to usher in Hyundai's return to top-flight motorsports, and will do battle with the cars from Citroen, Ford and Volkswagen that are currently contesting the 2013 season.
This video, which shows the i20 testing on the notoriously tough Finnish rally stages, gives the impression that progress on the new WRC contender is going well. It certainly looks fast, and as with the vast majority of rally cars, it sounds absolutely wonderful (listen to some of those gun-shot-like backfires). Take a look below for the whole, glorious three minutes and 20 seconds of unadulterated rally noise, flying dirt and jumping.
Hyundai pushes performance in Canadian Super Bowl ad
Thu, Jan 29 2015We keep seeing automakers put their Super Bowl ads online ahead of time, and here's one more to add to the list, although with a twist. The Internet might be the only place for many people to check out Hyundai's commercial because the spot is only playing in Canada during the game. The one-minute ad, titled Welcome to the New Age, eschews telling a narrative like many of this year's commercials. Instead, Hyundai offers a mix of energetic music over stylized imagery of the design, production and driving of the Genesis, plus a few brief cameos of other vehicles from the brand. The result is something a lot more visceral than many of the other spots so far. Too bad so many viewers are going to miss it. Autoblog reached out to Hyundai Canada for more information on the ad. According to company spokesperson Chad Heard, there is "no plan for it to be used in the US. It is specific to Canada." The spot will air during halftime.
